Loved the part 2 too Sonya, you are brilliant.
To be honest I am not much fond of Dev-paro love story but Sanaya was really good,I feel so proud to be her fan,I think she is the best in mjht.
And about her look as paro, she looked so radiant. My mother likes only Sanaya/gunjan in this show which makes me like sanaya even more😆
I loved Sanaya's expressions as Paro, especially in this scene-

Thank you Aanchal. But I think I can write something worth reading, because I have brilliant readers.

Kyaaa???? you don't like tragic love stories? hmmmm.. now I need to reconsider whether we can be friends...

I love tragic love stoires, cuz it explores the depth of lovers' love. I mean we couldn't know the intensity of Paro's love if she was united with Devdas. I know that's kind of mean to be pleased by their separation... But since it's a story, it's fine. Obviously, I wouldn't want something like that to happen to anyone in real life. And I don't think it can actually happen, cuz you don't find Paro in real life.

LOL I never said I don't like tragic love stories,I like them, they make me happy and sad at the same time but didn't like devdas, dont,I think it is because I didn't like the performances by the actors in the movie( I am talking about SRK's devdas here).

But in general I do like tragic love stories even though I don't believe in love😆

YAY!!

EDIT: Amazingly written as always.... You described the situation perfectly....

I loved the description about the candles... Thinking why the radiance on Paro's face had disappeared.... As if she's the one who illuminates the candles....

The way she held on to him was so touching, so sad. She's wondering why Dev is doing that to her. The society won't let them be together, that is something she understands. But here Dev, the reason for her existence, is telling her to part from him. Why does he want to do that? Why's he separating himself from her so cruelly? He was killing her...... I loved that bit, cause it was awesomely done by Sanaya and even Mohit.
The way she was trying to hold on to him, not knowing when she'd be able to see him again was so sad.... She'd have to live the rest of her life and she just wants to be with him these last moments..

And the bit where they were lying down... So close physically, yet so far emotionally. Dev was not listening to her, and she again dreams of the moments gone by, the times they spent together. Today they lie so close but the feeling of being separated forever overshadows those fond memories, and Paro wakes up to the grim reality. As you said, Dev couldn't close his eyes. He only thought of today, and his eyes had no dreams, no fantasies, and he had no hope of reuniting with Paro.

The bit with the diya in the end was the best. He goes to extinguish it, cause he doesn't want to give Paro any false hopes, but the reason for living the rest of her life will be the hope that diya has given her for so many years... She'll live with the flame, cause she's kept it burning so many years and she can't let him just burn that hope like that. Letting the flame die would be like letting the love which had kept alive for so many years through that burning flame die. And she can't let him do that.

This was amaaaazing Sonya. I don't have words to explain how much I loved it. 😳 You're simply the best!! Thank you so much for this lovely Part 2!! 🤗

Amazingly responded as always.........!

And we share a common interest. I also loved how Paro was pleading him not to go. Exactly, she could understand the society being an evil, but how could Dev do that to her? How could he part ways with her? Totally agreed. Mohit and Sanaya did a wonderful job in portraying that scene. Sanaya's fearful, confused, sorrowful, hopeful eyes and Mohit's sad eyes that were filled with despair. I won't talk more about Mohit cuz I intend to discuss him on Jia's thread sometime soon.

Exactly! loved the way you expressed it, "so close physically yet so far emotionally." And when Dev was away, it was the opposite. They were close emotionally not physically. "Dev's eyes had no dreams...," Ishita, next time I make a post, it has to be in collaboration with you. You're so good at choosing the right words.

Yes, how could she let him extinguish that diya???!!!

Thank you so much for reading part 2 and commenting.

Yasri, I have emailed the moderators. I have no access to the subject folder of this thread for some weird reason. This is the third day, and they haven't responded. Since I'm irritated by their treatment, I tend not to write to them again cuz then I might be very rude. I mean at least they could have informed me that they aren't going to do it so that I could open a new thread for part 2.

Okay that means we can be friends. Jokes apart, I don't believe in love either. Hence, I like it in books.

Okay now this question is for anyone who has read the original text of Devdas written by the author. Unfortunately, I haven't. In Bhansali's movie we saw that Paro does not get to meet Devdas in his last moments, but in MJHT rendition, Paro actually gets to talk to him. What happens in the original text? Secondly, is there an English translation since I can't read Hindi?
