Fantastic post .. agreed with each word u said .. mayank is the only person who can understand the loss and pain of sajan.. he knows very well that they can't live apart ... but he respects and understands boths point of view.. and hence working towards it slowly and thats one quality which i like in mayank is that he sees practicallity over emotions.. which makes bitter and hard at times .. but soft when it comes to emotions...

sayank's jodi is a perfect example of true friendship
mayank still cares for sam but he cannot show it as gunjan does not want it
but he did help him indirectly by telling gunjan to join excel
he understands sam's pain n so he is helping him out...n that's what is called friendship
