Errm - there is no TV rating system in India, so "content" is left to the discretion of the producers and channel....

There should probably be a rating system in India, but ultimately responsibility lies with parents not producers/channels to determine what their children should watch.

Sorry, I guess i waffle a lot. This was my point. Even if parents watch the content with eagle hawk eyes, this whole topic was so out of the blue, from nowhere that how could anyone have foreseen such possibilities. It would have been more polite to have warned the 'old' viewers that they were some changes on the way to the concept and spirit of MJHT.

@a little faith - i will have to "agree to disagree" wit a lot of pple on this thread n forum on this issue of whether MJHT has changed... To me if u can show the act (Sajda, Pehli Baar, etc.) then u can discuss it. Also, I think most of the audience including the teenage portion of the audience is familiar with the concept of artificial insemination.
If the issue is a particular character's (Uday's) understanding of the concept and term then I don't know that its completely outta character as both him n Benji r shown to be "girl" crazy. He also wanted to marry Tam M'am. Also, as has been pointed out by several posters already, its not uncommon for college boys to engage in sperm donation. And while not the brightest of individuals, they have never indicated that he has any sort of learning difficulties or is retarded... as such if the term was explained to him before he donated then he would have understood it. And there is certainly nothing morally wrong with him donating in this manner as it would be helpful to couples who are unable to conceive. Moving to the issue of the issue of legality, they specifically indicate during the sequence that he is now 20 yrs old - so 18 months ago he would have at min been 18 yrs old.

Totally agree with yr POV, the question here is not what the children watch , or what is shown in TV these days. The question is ... What is shown in MJHT ?
Each show has an image to it ...Shows like Emotional Atyachar, MTV Spiltsvilla, Sach Ka Samana are shows that have Adult Content to them . If they parents are ok with their children watching these shows. Then who are we to complain ?
MJHT has an image of being a clean, simple ,&a light show . There is not .. over the top drama , hardly any violence is showed, the language used is decent , romance is shown in decent manner ......... I did not find ' Roshni se ' vulgar. Suddenly when a show like this does a 360 degree turn overnight... the viewers will get shocked & upset. U cannot do such a make over overnight without any warning
Let me give u 1 example ... If u go back to Mayur barn scene ... the way the scenes were presented
, they gave the impression that Mayur slept together........... Many Mayur Fans were very upset . That time PD had stopped coming on line . she specially came to clarify that Mayur had only kissed ... that they did not go further than that ........... Why were the Fans upset.. Many 19 / 20 years old couples are sleeping together.... But for the fans who loved this couple , this was unacceptable.........Because Mjht presented this couple in this way............ that they will stay within the boundaries
Same is the case with Dodo's AI talk's or Benji's teacher's talk's.It totally goes against the image of the characters .That's why we don't want any boys to be the father of the baby ......It will again spoil the image of the characters in the eyes of the viewers.........The same image that was given to us by MJHT team .............. now in the name of comedy or TRPS or whatever reason , they cannot take it back from us. That will spoil the essence of the show, & it will take away the soul of MJHT.

Thank you for replying so candidly. I love honesty in all its forms.

I guess you are correct we will have to agree to disagree, because for me even sajda and pehli baar were too much for me and I was quite shocked to see them in MJHT. I wrote my view on this in Preeti's DOTW 'intimate scenes' issue which I am just going to paste below.

"For every 'cute' scene I would gladly sacrifice a million 'hot' scenes.
Nice as 'hot' scenes are, they cannot compare to 'cute' scenes which are, to be honest, PRICELESS.
How is Pehli baar comparable to 'sirf mein bacha hoon' or last week's 'mein jao?' when I just melted into a pool of goo!!! How is SaJan's date comparable to 'januable' or the hug after the court hearing.
Every relationship has its 'hot' scenes but only true love has cute and precious scenes, both on TV and in real life. Trust me!
Truly they are in completely different leagues."

Back to the point of Uday. Again to me the character was portrayed as being innocent even if girl crazy. However I guess as it is with all 'art' you cannot help but see your own reflection, your own life, or incorporate your own aspirations. I guess my sister is correct to call me a prude. However in old MJHT I found something to be endeared towards unlike now which is very much like the 'modern' society that I do not fit in with.

Regardless, there is still so much beauty to be found, if sought.

sorry i beg to differ here.... Channels and producers are definitely accountable...and due to the lack of tv rating system in our country, it becomes all the more important on Channel/production house part to screen what the showing.

@ anu varma- completely agree with you.. the show kind of deviates from its genre all of a sudden..

Again, I personally dont ve problem with content. but it just doesnt suit MJHT. and dont tell me this show is not for 10-12 years olds, i ve always thought at 23 am too old for the show...MJHT's humor is too dumb for 20 somethings.
