Hey guys its been a long time since I had a scene in my mind for gunjan's recovery by samrat so I decided to write it. Hope you guys like it and plss do comment.
"acha gunjan main chalti hun! Samrat tum iska khayal rakhna jb tk diya or uday bhaiyya party se nahi atay" nupur said to samrat with firm authority.
"don't worry nupur main hun na" samrat assured her as he stood beside gunjan who was on her wheel chair and they stood near the main door.
"or han samrat gunjan ko ziada tang mat karna" mayank told with as much concern as nupur had shown for her sister.
"nahi karunga chashmish k jeeja j. or kuch?" samrat teased him and gunjan only smiled at her family.
"nai bas ab hum chalte hain. Apna khayal rakhna gunjan. Bye" nupur bent and hugged gunjan.
"bye di tum bhi apna khayal rakhna"
"bye samrat" said nupur and mayank together and they both went out.
Samrat locked the door and came back to gunjan and bent down on his knees to get to her eye level,
"so chashmish kiya plan hai?"
"plan ye hai k chaye piyenge or phir notes…"she started to roll the wheels of her chair towards the kitchen.
"movie dekhenge" but samrat held her haiar and interrupted her with a mischievous smile.
"per mujhe kuch notes banana thay ab jb college khul gaya hai to" she argued.
"later chashmish. Abhi hum movie dekhenge" samrat stood up.
"per mujhe movie nahi dekhni" she said stubbornly.
"to phir hum baatain karenge" he gave her another option but she looked away with a frown. Samrat shook his head and bent down picking her up in his arms.
"samrat kiya kar rahe ho?" she looked at him shocked as he started walking.
"tumhare kamre main hi jarahe hain hum chashmish waheen beth kar baatain karenge"
"per kiya baat karenge? Or meri wheel chair?" she tried to look back from his shoulders but he was already in her room.
"chodo na usko. Waise bhi tumhain uski zarurat nahi padne wali ab"
"samrat tum kiya bol rahe ho mujhe samajh nahi araha" gunjan was surprised by his behavior not that he wasn't like this before but she thought that perhaps if she started to be aloof with him maybe…
"ajayega chasmish. Chalo tum betho main do minute main chaye laya AND don't you dare to pick that book", he took away the book from her hand that she had picked and placed it back on the table, "tum ek dafa book uthati ho to rakhti hi nahi"
"acha baba theek hai, ab jao." She said and he went out. She moved a little forward to see if he had gone and then picked up the book again and got lost in the book. She didn't realized when she felt goose bumps behind her neck as if someone was watching her. She looked back slowly taking her eyes away from the book and taking them to the door where a figure stood.
"uff samrat dara diya tumne mujhe" she gasped as she wasn't expecting him to stand there so quietly. He was leaning with the door frame with his arms crossed and he was watching her with grim interest.
"kiya hua? Tum aise kiyun khade ho? Or kab se khade ho?" she asked closing the book and placing it on the table.
"chashmish" she called her and walked towards her slowly.
"han samrat kiya hua?" she asked getting concerned for him.
"chashmish tum meri baat manogi?" he asked her sitting down on the bed.
"kaisi baat? Or tum to chaye banane gaye they na"
"han. Ye rahi chaye. Lo piyo" he gave her the cup that was placed on the table and she had had no idea when did he came and placed it there and when he went back.
"han main peeti hun per kiya hua tumhain?" she placed the cup back on the table and moved forward towards him.
"nahi tum pehle chaye piyo" he replied grimly looking down at his hands.
"samrat kiya hua hai? Aise kiyun behave kar rahe ho?"
"chashmish tumhain pata hai ghar main koi nahi hai" he replied seriously but this time there was a determined tone in his voice.
"han mujhe pata hai. Tum kaisi baatain kar rahe ho?" she got a little worried.
"aise main kuch bhi hosakta hai" he said looking at her with his head slightly tilted that almost sent shiver in her spine.
"acha! Jaise?" she acted casually and asked with a smile.
"jaise main tumhare sath kuch bhi kar sakta hun or tum kaheen ja bhi nahi paogi" he said shifting on the bed totally.
"kiyun?" she asked.
"kiyun k tum filhal chal nahi pati" he emphasized on 'filhal' that immediately gave gunjan another idea about his behavior.
"samrat tum kiya…?" she started acting scared.
"or nahi to kiya chashmish main kab se is moqay ki talash main tha"
"kis moqay ki talash main?"
"k tum kab mujhe akeli milo or…" he stopped.
"or?" she asked him to complete but he was looking down.
"or ye" he slipped out a knife from behind his back and held it upside down towards her.
"samrat pagal hogaye ho tum?" she said getting jittery.
"han chashmish ab or nahi saha jata mujhse" he said getting close to her.
"samrat isay rakho!" she said to him frowning and trying to catch his hand.
"kiyun chashmish dar lag raha hai? Tumhain kiya laga tum kuch waqt k liye chal nahi paogi to main tum per taras kha lunga" his emphases again made her anger on him lighten her.
"samrat paglon jaisi baatain mat karo. Tumhain lag jayegi" she looked at his hand that was holding the knife dangerously because of its blade touching her fingers.
"mujhe lagegi?? Chashmish main yahan tumhain marne laga hun" he told her.
"acha baba theek hai per isay to rakho. mujhe maar lena baad main" she said calmly as she realized she had got him.
"chasmish!" he was amusedly shocked and lowered his hand.
"han samrat" she looked at him with equal amusement.
"tumhain dar nahi lag raha?" he asked her.
"tumhari in bachgani harkaton se? to nahi" she told him with a smile.
"kiyun?"
"kiyun k this is so not you" she told him with an absolute certainty.
"per kiyun chashnish? Mujhe laga k…" he
"kiya laga?"
"mujhe laga k tum chal padogi" at this gunjan shot her head back and laughed till she had tears and her stomach ached.
"uff samrat tumhain such main aisa laga? Tum ne ye sb isliye kiya k main… God" she wiped a tear that was glistening at the corner of her eye.
"tum hans kiyun rahi ho?" he asked her clearly upset by the failure of his plan.
"samrat ye koi hindi film nahi hai k tum ne ye sb kiya or main dar k bhag padungi." She gave him a logical reason.
"per chashmish…" he was really down.
"samrat meri baat dhiyan se suno. Doctors ne kaha na k jb theek hona hoga tb hojaongi ye sb karne se kuch bhi nahi hoga. By the way tumhain ye idea diya kisne?" she asked knowing the answer already.
"oh! Ab samajh aya k ye di ka idea tha. Di wo amitabh bachan ki 'satte pe satta' wali movie se bohat inspired hai and specially wohi scene jahan amitabh ka duplicate uski saali ko marne jata hai or wo wheel chair se uth kar bhagne lag padti hai. Come on samrat aisa such main thodi hota hai" she placed her hand over his trying to console him. She knew how much concerned he was for her and how much upset he was right now. She couldn't believe that samrat could go to such desperation for her recovery to believe in such a ridiculous idea of nupur.
"mujhe nahi pata tha k nupur ne uska bataya mujhe" he replied in a weak and demoralized tone referring to the movie fact.
"tabhi to main ne kaha k its so not you. Samrat the great aisa plan bana hi nahi sakta" she tried to take out the discouragement out of him. She saw his face that was still lowered.
"ab aise munh banaoge to hogayi baatain. Ab mujhe bhi to baatain karne ka man kar raha hai na tumse."
"kiya batain karni hain tumhain?" he asked still not at all feeling well.
"array! Wohi jo tumhain karni thi"
"tum theek keh rahi ho chashmish!" he raised his head after a moment of silence.
"kiya?"
"yahi k jo plan samrat the great ka hoga wo hamesha successful hoga" he said with a hint of faith and hope in his voice and gunjan was happy that at least he wasn't discouraged by the failure of this plan of nupur's.
"ofcourse samrat aj tk tumhara koi plan fail hua hai? Acha mujhe batao k tumhain movie kaun si dekhni thi?" she leaned back on the bed as her back ached now, trying to divert his attention.
"chalo chashmish" suddenly samrat got up.
"kahan?" she looked up at him surprised again by the swing.
"bahar chalte hain. Dekho na mausam kitna acha hai" he pointed out to towards the window. It indeed was fabulous whether outside and getting all cloudy. He caught her hand.
"per samrat ye ek dum se kiya hogaya?" she asked him.
"mood ban gaya chashmish. Chalo na" he tugged at her hand.
"acha meri wheel chair to le ao." She said.
"main hun na chashmish to wheel chair ki kiya zarurat hai?" he came forward and bent down to pick her up.
"nahi samrat. Wheel chair lao main tum sb per bojh nahi banna chahti" she said with seriousness and holding his hand.
"firstly chashmish main 'tum sb' main nahi ata," he said leaning closer to her face and then stood up and started towards the door, "and secondly tumhara weight hi kahan hai k tum bojh banogi" he walked out of the door to get her wheel chair while gunjan smiled and shook her head.
"acha ab batao k hum ja kahan rahe hain?" she asked while sitting the car as he drove.
"chal rahe hain na to dikh jayega" he told her with arrogance but gunjan liked it.
"tumse to seedha jawab expect karna hai hi impossible." She said and looked out.
"obviously after all m samrat" samrat said with a mischievous grin.
Finally they stopped in a deserted cliff. Samrat came out of his side and ignoring gunjan's protests he picked her up and took her to the only bench there and sat her on it. As he came back after locking the car and taking out her wheel chair gunjan spoke,
"wow samrat! Bohat khubsurat jaga hai" she looked around the clear and open view of Mumbai. It was a sea side and the cliff was just above the sea. The wind was cold and it was anytime to rain but still the whether was extremely pleasant.
"hai na! per tumse ziada nahi" he told her and walked ahead with the empty wheel chair.
"array isay kahan le kar jarahe ho?"
"tum jo bench per bethi ho to main ne socha k isko hi thoda ghuma lun"
"mujhe lagta hai humain jaldi jana padega kiyun k barish anay wali hai samrat" she told him looking at the sky.
"chashmish abhi to aye hain abhi se hi janay ki baatain kar rahi ho" he replied without turning.
"acha theek hai nahi karti per tum aise ghumte rahogay to main kiya karungi yahan?"
"main batata hun na k tum kiya karogi" he replied quietly and gunjan did notice the change of his voice but ignored it.
"kitni achi hawa chal rahi hai na" she said looking around.
"hmmm" he replied and walked closer to the edge that gunjan couldn't see.
"samrat us taraf kiya hai?" she asked referring to where samrat was heading.
"khayi hai chashmish" he told her silently still not looking at her.
"to tum wahan kiyun jarahe ho?" she asked worriedly.
"tumhari girlfriend ka intazam karne" he said.
"kiya?" she got confused but before she could even register his words samrat pushed the wheel chair down the edge.
"SAMRAT YE KIYA KIYA TUMNE?" gunjan gasped and asked loudly shocked by what he had done.
"u won't need it chashmish. Relax" he told her casually and pushed his hands in his pockets.
"SAMRAT TUM PAGAL HOGAYE HO KIYA? CHALO YAHAN SE ABHI!" gunjan said leaning forward.
"too late chashmish. Sorry" he said turning towards her casually and looked in her eyes.
"samrat tumhara dimagh kharab hogaya hai" she said and she saw that there was no mischief in his eyes.
"aj tum utho gi chashmish" he said.
"kiya?" gunjan now felt a little scared.
"aj tum chalogi. Mere liye. Khud k liye" he said with a smile that wasn't warm at all.
"samrat kiya hogaya hai tumhain?" her throat went dry and she was unable to speak.
"utho chashmish" he ordered her again.
"samrat chalo yahan se. mera dil ghabra raha hai" she slid forward holding the sides of the bench.
"agar tum nahi uthi to aj main is dharti se uth jaonga" he said and gunjan looked up at him shocked.
"sam…rat!"
"utho chashmish. Agar mujhse pyar karti ho to utho" he shifted slightly.
"kiyun kar rahe ho ye sb?" she couldn't hear her own voice out of fear.
"kiyun k main bohat selfish hun chashmish! Self centered! Mujhe sirf apni khushi chahye. Or meri khushi isi main hai k tum utho" he took a step back still with his hands in the pockets.
"samrat ruko!" she tried to stop him and knew that he wasn't joking now.
"nahi chashmish aj main nahi rukunga. Main apne qadam badhata rahunga" he took another step back.
"SAMRAT TUM GIR JAOGE" she shouted at him helplessly.
"main janta hun chashmish or agar tum nahi uthi to yahi hoga" he stepped back again.
"SAMRAT PLSS RUK JAO"
"ab mujhe sirf tum hi bachaogi chashmish"
"samrat mat karo ye" she said as tears escaped from her eyes of fright and she knew she couldn't stop him neither could she walk. She couldn't understand why he was doing this. Still she tried to get up. She tried to move her legs but it went vain.
"main nahi uth pa rahi" she told him helplessly trying to stop him.
"matlab tum mujhse pyaar nahi karti or mujhe bachana hi nahi chahti" he looked sideways and took a step back.
"samrat plss stop it" gunjan said looking down and as she looked up she saw him slipped because of a rock in the way.
"SAMRAT!" she screamed her hand stretched out and she fell over on the ground.
"CHASHMISH!" samrat was about to run to her when he stopped himself.
"ruk jao pls samrat" she said looking down on the ground. Her legs curled beneath her. When she saw he didn't move even an inch she started to slide towards him with the help of her hands.
"nahi chashmish aise nahi. Tum apne paeron pe chal kar mere pas aogi" he said and gunjan looked at him disbelievingly. She clearly couldn't understand him at all right now.
"ma….main…" she looked around and saw a tree just near the bench. She slid by the help of her hands on the stony ground and reached the tree with difficulty.
"m sorry chashmish but I have to do this. Shayad main khud ko kabhi maaf na kar paon us takleef k liye jo main ne tumhain di per is waqt ye zaruri hai" samrat thought to himself and he had tears of pain in his own eyes when he saw her sliding on the ground. He felt the pain himself and he shut his eyes and looked away with a frown on his face but gunjan didn't saw him. She stopped by the tree and looked at its length and then held the wood firmly and tried to get up. Finally she sat on the thick roots of the tree that were coming out of the ground. She took a deep breath as she was breathless and looked at samrat who was standing just near the edge. As he saw her looking at him he shifted back again slightly just to keep her going. She opened her mouth to say something but she knew it was going to be of no use. With firm determination she held the wood again and tried to move her legs but couldn't. She groaned as she felt a piercing sensation in her legs. She shut her eyes and turned her head away. Samrat stepped forward to run to her but then stopped thinking,
"agar aj main kamzor pad gaya to shayad chashmish kabhi na chal paye. Mujhe rukna hoga. Chashmish ki khatir"
"samrat mujhse nahi horaha" she said almost giving up.
"to theek hai chashmish ab mujhe mat rokna" he said.
"nahi!" she exclaimed as her head shot up and tried again. She turned to the tree and held it with both her hands embracing the wood with her arms and tried to get up. She bit her lower lip and tried several times to get up but when she couldn't and only feel the piercing sensation as if someone was piercing needles in her legs and feet she stopped and breathed heavily while samrat kept praying inside for forgiveness and that his chashmish would get up and wouldn't give up. He knew she was strong and she could do it.
Finally gunjan leaned her torso with the tree by holding it tightly as the tree was slightly diagonal. Samrat saw the diagonality of the tree and knew that when chashmish would stand up she could take support of the tree and thanked God because he knew God was with him too.
Her hands were sweaty but she wasn't going to give up. She knew when samrat was adamant on something he was going to get it and if not then he could do anything. She leaned her front with the tree and tried to support her legs. The pain in her legs increased but with that pain she could feel that her legs were there as a weak ago she couldn't even feel that her legs were a part of her body. She tried to ignore the pain and used that little feeling into strength and she was able just enough to hold her feet on the ground.
Samrat's heart leaped with joy and he felt like running to her and embrace her by this little achievement but he knew with how much pain she was going through. He felt tears of pain and joy and relief running down that he had controlled for so long.
The wind blew hard and hard as slashing both of their faces. Gunjan finally stood by just holding her feet on the ground but she could feel her legs. The intense pain was there and she took the support of tree completely and leaned with it. She placed her head on the tree to gain her breath and then started to turn to front by trying to leave the tree. Her entire body trembled with weakness and she let go of the tree with one hand and tried to turn but as she lifted herself from the tree her legs couldn't support her weight and she was about to fall down when two hands gripped her waist strongly and held her back by the tree and she leaned her front back again on the tree.
"I tried…I really…tried samrat" she whispered through her rough and dry throat and tears of fear and pain.
"I know chashmish! I know" he caressed her shoulder and back with his face that he leaned with her.
"samrat… main nahi chal paongi… kabhi" she sobbed.
"sshhhh chashmish… bas! Bas" he silenced her. He first wanted to stop her crying and then he would tell her that she could walk.
"I hate you samrat" she whispered as he held her from her waist firmly and lifted her slightly from the ground to avoid from putting her weight on her feet. He knew already that it was too much for her.
"I love you chashmish" he replied in a whisper kissing her shoulder.
"nahi!" she shook her head and sobbed bitterly.
"yes" he whispered and then scooped her up in his arms and took her to the bench sitting her on his laps and soothed her back and arms while she sobbed bitterly on his shoulders.
"main… kabhi…" she started again.
"challogi chashmish! Ab agar tumne ek or baar kaha k tum nahi chal paogi to main phir se wohi karunga jo abhi karne laga tha" she cried and him on his shoulders and held his shirt front and shook him lightly.
"acha acha nahi karunga" he smiled and hugged her back.
"tum… tumhain… kuch hojata to" she managed to speak.
"tum hone deti kiya?" he asked and she shook her head.
"itna pyaar jo karti ho mujhse"
"uska faida uthaya tumne?" she asked in anger.
"ghalat faida to nahi uthaya na chashmish. Look at the positive sight chashmish tum aj khud apne pairon per khadi hui"
"s…such?" she looked up at his face.
"chashmish! Tum khud khadi hui or tumhain yahi nahi pata" he cupped her face and wiped her tears with his thumb.
"per main ne to us paed ka sahara liya tha" she looked at the tree and samrat turned her face back to him.
"bina tumhari taangon k wo paed bhi tumhara kuch nahi kar sakta tha. Tum apne paeron per khadi hui ho chashmish thooodi si help k sath or ye thodi si help kab khatam hojayegi or tum khud chalne lago gi tumhain pata bhi nahi chalega" he said and caressed her hair behind her ear. She looked down at her legs and realized the shooting pain.
"per samrat mujhe bohat dard horaha hai tangon main. Aisa lag raha hai jaise sooiyan chubh rahi hain"
"that's a good sign chashmish. Tumhain kuch feel horaha hai iska matlab tumhari paralyzation khatam horahi hai"
"m…main chal paongi?" she asked again looking at him with doubt.
"han or meri baat ka yaqeen nahi to ghar chalo or main doctor ko bulata hun wo tumhain yakeen dilayenge" he smiled at her innocent face. This angel who took so much pain just to save him… because she was still unsure if she could walk.
"mujhe tum per poora yakeen hai samrat" she tol him.
"to phir kaho k jo tumne abhi kaha wo jhoot tha"
"kiya kaha?"
"wah chashmish mujhse meri jaan cheen kar kehti ho k tumne kiya kaha? Tumne kaha tha k u hate me" he said narrowing his eyes at her
"han to… tumne mujhe dara diya tha" she felt guilt wave pass inside her and she turned her eyes away from him and accused him.
"tumne isliye ye kaha?" he grew serious.
"han" she said with an obvious certainty.
"or mujhe laga k tumne isliye kaha kiyun k main ne tumhain itni takleef di"
"per wo takleef bhi to tumne mere liye hi di thi na" she said now understanding his intentions and thanking him for that.
"so to hai! Chalo abhi utho" he said.
"ab bhi khud?" she asked disbelievingly.
"tumhain kuch ziada hi araam karne ki adat hogayi hai chashmish. Ye adat khatam karni padegi tumhari" he said with a mischievous grin and glint in his eyes.
"nahi main…" she felt embarrassed by his teasing and was about to move when he held her shoulders and stopped her.
"nahi chashmish. Obviously not 'khud'" he told her imitating her.
"per tumne to meri wheel chair phenk di" she looked towards the edge.
"oh yeah! Main to bhool hi gaya. Josh main hosh kho betha" he teased her.
"per ab tumhare josh ka main kiya karun?" she looked worried.
"my princess! Tumhain lagta hai k main tumhain aise helpless chod dunga?" he asked and she shook her head still with a frown on her forehead.
"to bas guru samrat per bharosa rakho chashmish"
"obviously samrat is waqt or kiya kar sakti hun main" she told him sarcastically. She felt a drop of rain on her cheek and looked up just then another huge drop splashed on her glasses.
"ufff barish bhi shuru hogayi hai ab to. Jaldi chalo" she told him and without even notifying him she slid down from his laps on the bench. He gasped at her but stopped when he saw she was fine. Surely he had given her courage that might be dangerous for him if she kept experimenting and tried to do everything by herself.
"waise mujhe to koi problem nahi hai per tumhain thand lag jayegi" he said and got up.
"samrat gadi yahan lao or meri help karo" she ordered him as she knew he would again pick her up.
"aisi ki taisi help ki." He said and picked her up.
"samrat!" she exclaimed in disbelief.
As they sat in the car and samrat drove, after a few minutes of quietness he looked towards her and she was holding the seat tightly.
"kiya hua chashmish?"
"samrat mujhe bohat dard horaha hai" she shut her eyes and looked outside the window. Samrat took out his cell phone and immediately called the doctor and called him to the house before even reaching there.
"its good news. She is recovering." The doctor told after he checked her completely.
"dekha chashmish main ne kaha tha na" samrat smiled at her.
"But ahista ahista. Ek dum se inki taangon per weight nahi dalna. Kuch saharay se dheere dheere pehle inko khada hone dain kiyun abhi inki legs weak hain or agar jaldi ki to ziada damage hosakta hai. Filhal to inhai do teen din ka bilkul rest diya jaye kiyun k stress ki wajah se ziada effect pada hai"
"dr koi ghabrane ki baat to nahi hai?" samrat asked worriedly.
"nahi nahi main bas precautions bata raha hun. Or ye kuch pain killers hain and make sure k ap apne pair dheere dheere hilayen jaise to start move your toes and then your feet ok. You boy! Take care of her" the doctor pointed to samrat with a smile.
"I will sir. Chalen?" he pointed towards the door.
"yes of course" doctor turned and as he turned samrat winked at gunjan and went after the doctorwhile gunjan smiled and closed her eyes peacefully. After a long time she was happy.
Her pain was fine now because she had taken the pain killer. She was about to fall asleep when she felt again the sensation in her feet. Her eyes shot open and she saw samrat bent down beside her bed and he was holding her feet and rubbing them gently.
"samrat? Ye kiya kar rahe ho?" she tried to move her legs away but they moved just so much so that she could feel them moving and samrat only saw the stirring of her feet.
"m sorry chashmish" he said with clear guilt.
"kiyun?" she asked.
"kiyun k main ne tumhain ye dard diya" he said without meeting her eyes.
"samrat yahan ao" she called her to him. He got up slowly and sat down beside her. She held his hands and he looked at her,
"tum ne mujhe koi dard nahi dia. By God" she imitated nupur and samrat managed to smile.
"such main dekho ab agar main chal paongi to wo sirf tumhari wajah se"
"chashmish 'agar' ka to sawal hi nahi na. tum chalogi ok" he replied pointing his finger to her angrily.
"ok baba ghussa to mat karo"
"I love you chashmish." Samrat pulled her in a fierce hug when he couldn't control.
"I love you too samrat" she replied with a peaceful smile.
And thus a happy ending. Hope you guys liked it and plsss do comment.
