I am sure Gunjan is a great sister... but I want to see whose side will she take when it is Samrat vs Nupur.... She places Samrat above Nupur every time and THAT is my problem with her character.
Now addressing your points
@blue- I agree with you on that one.. That is the ONLY time I have seen Gunjan advise Nupur properly without shedding buckets of tears.
@green- Gunjan didn't know about MN at the point so I mean she just didn't want to trouble Nupur with the problem but Nupur still knew something was wrong. I had said it then and I'll say it again, how come Gunjan didn't realize that her sis was happy about something and just know like Nupur always figures out about Gunjan
@red- Haven't seen those torturous eps so no comments
@bold- Let's not get into what could have and would have happened.. The only role Gunjan will play in this track is hugging Samrat and falling in love with him yet AGAIN and once in a while hugging her Di hoping she is fine..
@purple- I think Rati is a good actress but that doesn't mean I can't look beyond her.. When Nupur utters stupid lines I make fun of her too... For ex. the way she had no work to do in the middle except constantly hugging Mayank... I just think when it comes to Gunjan they have shown Nupur stronger and portrayed her as a much more caring sister..
And yes you are titled to your opinion and I am not looking to start a fight here.... Just stating my points. I am just trying to have a discussion so maybe some of you who think Gunjan is such a great sister can convince me why you think so.
If you think I am fighting, please ignore my post or just let me know and I'll stop replying I promise.

@ bold : that is because gunjan, is always always the younger sibling...she has been taken care of by nupur ALL throughout her life .. and whether she had wanted it or not .. yes, nupur was a really really good sister, I myself hav adored the GuNur relationship a LOT in the past .. but recently, and this is again, what I feel, that nupur's character has been tarnished a LOT .. esp the GuNur fight, put me off the GuNur bond ... and I was hurt to the CORE because the fight was stupid and baseless ...

coming to samrat v/s nupur .. this issue cud hav NEVER arised in the first place...there was no reason to! nupur was the first one tht realised tht samrat was the ideal person for gunjan .. then how can she start behaving all hypocritical and say tht he isnt the right guy for her? secondly, forget ideal person..samrat was always her friend..and much before he was gunjan's friend ... and YET she refused to trust him ... so basically this issue wudnt hav arised and gunjan always defends her loved ones, be it anybody .. soo she had to stand up for samrat .. but she also stood up for nupur when the gang passed rude comments abt her .. SHE spoke against them for her di ( I dunno if u hav watched those epis ) .. so yes, she has always defended her ..

coming back to ur point of gunjan always takes her sister for granted, yes I agree she does .. but dont u think, somewhere here even nupur is at fault? has she ever let her sister out in the open? I agree, that caring for ur sister is a wonderful thing, infact nupur was a really amazing elder sister, but she was always and has always been over protective abt her .. she has always sheltered her from the storm, never taught her to fight the storm .. and as a result, thats how gunji has become .. it also doesnt help that she is utterly reserved and shy to add to all of that! coming from a very orthodox family, they hav always been taught to respect their elders .. and there;s a certain line that cannot b crossed b/w siblings too .. when she repeatedly asked her sister whether everything was ok b/w mayank and her, nupur told her everything was fine .. and even tho gunjan might hav thought deep down that it wasnt..she cud not challenge her di directly, because for her, her di's words were as good as written in golden letters .. and she trusted her more than she trusted herself .. and this again, coz of the sheltered up bringing that she has had ...

now coming back to why she spoke soo harshly then against her di when she had to defend samrat .. it was because she knew that samrat was her di's friend too, once and hence it hurt her when one of the most imp persons in her life was against the other! had it been the other way round wit samrat v/s nupur wit sam blaming nupur for something without a reason she wud hav stood up against samrat for her di .. yes, they didnt show it ever, but having understood gunjan's character thats one thing I can say very confidently!

as for why they havent shown gunjan displaying her concern for nupur more often, is like I said before .. ppl hav different ways of showing their concern fr their loved ones ... samrat and nupur are the ones tht wear their hearts on their sleevs and show their concern quite often .. while gunjan and mayank are the ones that do not display their love or affection quite often, but that doesnt mean that their feelings dont exist ..

@ blue : yes thats a complain even we gunjan fans hav against the CVs ..because gunjan is the one who needs to learn to fight fr herself and for her di too .. she is too timid and shy and this track was quite a good one to show her character development ... not much hope, but I hope atleast she is the one tht has the final say in it..because its all happ to her .. and she NEEDS to fight back!

Reemz, great topic, and I agree with you ... I think they're actually leading to exactly that ... Gunjan leading the fight ... or more likely, Gunjan coming more to the forefront and stronger than she has been till now. Which they kind of made a start on today.

Why has she been quiet till now? Partly because she was unconscious (bit difficult to be vocal at that time) then she's been grappling with losing her legs and being dependent on others - a whole life change for her, with lots of repurcussions - dependent on her sister, her love life shot to pieces, and she didn't even know the whole truth about what has been going on ... she didn't know Adhiraj was even in jail for ages.

The gang is fighting her battle for her and for Adhiraj and she's actually getting more and more worried about it - yesterday when Nupur tackled JD, her first thought was for her Di after the initial euphoria ... that Nupur will be in trouble ...

Today, after the acid attack, Nupur IS in danger ... and Gunjan's reaction is - forget this, I don't want anything to happen to my sister now, what happened to me is enough ... I don't want any justice if it means putting Di (and the others, but Nupur is in the forefront right now) in danger ... again, typically Gunjan ... she won't fight for herself and especially not if it means putting Nupur in danger ...

And that is what the attack on Nupur (what they showed in the promo) will precipitate ... Nupur IS in danger already, and that Gunjan cannot stand! All the instances that Naveen and Mads quoted show exactly that ... if Nupur is in trouble, Gunjan is there for her.

As for why Gunjan's love for Nupur and Nupur's love for Gunjan - it's quite simple. For Gunjan, Nupur is her mother figure. Nupur is the stable, steady rock in Gunjan's life after her mother died ... like a mother is always there for her child, and the child doesn't even think about it, so the same with Gunjan. She only really worries about Nupur when Nupur is obviously troubled ... then it becomes a sister relationship, otherwise, it's just that Nupur is there and always will be for Gunjan. How many times do we tell our mothers we love them? And how many times do we run to them when we are hurt? The second much more than the first, right?
So that's why Gunjan will always be there for Nupur ... and always has been. But she never says it so often - it's a given in her life, something she doesn't even think about.

As for Nupur, she is much more possessive about Gunjan because Nupur knows what it's like to lose a mother figure. Gunjan lost her mother, but she had Nupur. Nupur lost her mother and clung to Gunjan because she felt that insecurity of loss - she never allowed Gunjan to feel it so Gunjan is far more secure than Nupur, and Nupur shows her love for Gunjan much more than Gunjan does - partly her personality, and partly her own sense of loss, which Gunjan has felt much less, because she had Nupur in her mother's place.

This is my reading of the sisters bond ... hope I explained it in a way that made sense ... because I find the sisters' relationship completely logical and beautiful.

👏 👏 👏 You worded my own feelings about their relationship better than I could have. To be honest I don't understand the Gunjan v Nupur war people have here so its best if I keep out of it. Till recently, I saw GuNur as great sisters but now there is a palpable mother-daughter relationship between them. Gunjan unconsciously takes Nupur for granted because she has been there for her since forever. Nupur gave Gunjan that security which only a mother could give and at the same time she was/is her best friend (I agree when Samrat said that N is an even better friend than he is to Gunjan) because she is just THERE for her so Gunjan has never had to fear her absence. But now she IS scared for her and today was the first time EVER I heard Gunjan raise her voice like this and even their hug was of a daughter-mother one. It was a 'please don't leave me' hug.

People complain about Nupur's change of behaviour towards Samrat and Gunjan's PDA but I think the problem wasn't Samrat at all. Whatever she was doing was due to her own insecurity of losing her support in Gunjan. Nupur can't lose Gunjan and she was scared that her baby sister doesn't need her anymore and she knows that if Gunjan is on her side then she is doing the right thing. She didn't have a problem with Samrat, she had her own turmoil to deal with. GuNur had suddenly got seperated from each other and it was difficult to deal with for both of them hence the conflict.

I don't think their love can be questioned, whether its expressed or not 😊

There all thinking that Gunjan can't do much anymore now that she is on the wheelchair and she should just sit back. I'm hoping that the CV's will pull a little trick making Gunjan the one who actually saves the day :)

bold@ - exactly!!! For the first time, Gunjan was scared of losing Nupur, or of something happening to her ... again, most kids think their parents are invincible, and when that parent is in danger it is beastly scary for the child ... and that was the fear in Gunjan today.

red@ again - BINGO!!!! It wasn't Samrat that was the problem - Nupur's attitude started when she first heard Gunjan telling Samrat that she understood Bauji's point of view ... and with Nupur's insecurity about already losing Bauji, the fear that she might lose her baby sister as well made her go all hyper. That's why suddenly everything Samrat did was wrong, she was scared of losing Gunjan ... and the only way of getting her back was by finding fault with Samrat, then Gunjan would come back to Nupur and would support her completely.

Their bond has many shades as well, which is what makes it so interesting - now that they've started showing those shades!

^Exactly. She knew Samrat is the perfect guy for Gunjan. In fact she was the one who made Gunjan realise shes in love with Samrat so why would she suddenly have a problem with him? The fact was that she didn't have a problem with Samrat at all. Her insecurity of losing her sister made her act like this. Whether its right or wrong is questionable but she's never claimed to be the perfect being has she??

Another reason why I feel Gunjan will take action is because today she was blaming herself for this acid attack so surely the promo scene will shake her up much more.

Looking forward to it 😊 Creativesji, please take advantage of this track!
