Nice topic meela di...and thanks for information...you shd be feeling proud for wht ur nation people done for their mother tongue...so wishes from my side...."tumhala pan matru bhasha dinachya hardik shubhechha"....(i m from mumbai....so this is in marathi).....(aapko bhi iss din ki shubhkamnaye......in hindi)

actually i feel like muchmore people should know about it since its not only 'Shaheed Dibash' or 'Amar Ekushey' anymore, since 1999 it has become the 'International Mother Language Day' but in the matter of fact people know about days like 'halloween' or 'mardigras' but not this one....

and i am really proud to be a Bangladeshi both for our language movement and independent movement....i really am...

International Mother Language Day greetings to all my friend of IF.......
@ topic starter.i donno ur name....but u tried to let ppl know the history behind this day.....thank u so much!
I m writing in English here so that ppl understand clearly..........
The importance of this day is not only towards Bengali or Bangladeshis......speaking in ur own Mother language is every persons birth right regardless of country,nation or religion.This day hold special importance for all the ppl around the world who love their mother tongue!!!!!!!!!!
We r proud that its our nation, the one & only nation of the world where ppl fought & sacrificed their life to earn this right...........
