DOTW - Intimate Scenes Right or Wrong? - Page 4

No i am not in the favour of potrayal of intimate scenes on television.That is because they never show it realistically.The mental obstacle over not showing a Lip Kiss leads to a number of Gross touching, gropping, haywaire kissing etc.It is highly irritating to me as a viewer and am sure to the actors as well.
This problem can be easily solved without showing any intimate scenes at all...Black and white movies or movies like Wake up Sid didn have any touching scenes...We didnt feel the love any less...On top of that this show is viewed by children and teenagers of our country who do not receive proper sex education.If by any chance they get mislead and get involved in some real touching and feeling they might have to face dire consequences, mental and physical.

In a country where lovers are put behind bars for holding hands or sitting together in public places such misleading unrealistic intimacy should not be shown.

What is right or wrong ? We are ruled by the guidelines that are set by a society...

Lately we've had loads of discussions or rather should i say arguments on the Intimate scene being shown in the Show MJHT. First it happened with Mayank and Nupur and just 2 days back with Samrat and Gunjan. And we've had mixed reviews on this. Some have no objection to such scene. Some do have, based on different reasons/views.

Today I have a Question to raise in general to know your view's as a General Member and not as a SG or MN Fan. But as a general TV/MJHT Viewer.

*Do You feel such intimate scene should be showed on TV?
*Is it Right to have such scene's in the Youth based Show?
*If its Right, then Why do you think It is? And if Its Wrong then Why?


Please Note : We are here to discuss in general. And not to mock the characters/actors/CV's or the Members or Fan Group. So no Comparison between MN & SG and also no differenciating based on others Opinions or based on your Fav's. The reply should be just your individual Viewpoint as a Daily TV/Show watcher. Post that point at certain Member/Character in thier comments would be treated strictly and might face actions. Its Only a Discussion Post so No Arguments/Fights. Each One is expected to respect Each Others Opinions.

lovely topic n u cud not have framed the questions any better.......i guess intimacy when required for a scene should be absolutely fine.....mjht being a youth show, it is to be expected as love, feelings for another member of opposite sex bloom mostly during this stage so v definitely cannot overlook it....the point is the scene needs to be justified and should be a natural progression in a tarck.....n not done just to get trps or more audience....n yes much as theCVs have a duty to ensure the content is viewable by all but it cannot hamper the way story or an emotion has to be portrayed....n d kind of intimcay they show on TV shows is miniscule when many channel broadcasters seem to stream many movies in diff channels without cutting off required portion many a times......to simply say intimacy is justified when its inspired not conspired, be it for any show

In the earlier days, since the concept of society was limited to your village, it was easily to define whats ok and not ok for that soceity..but in a country like India can we safely define what is acceptable and what is not.

This place has sculptures and books that define love (erotic and explicit) . This place also has conservatism that doesnt let women show their faces to the outside world. We hear of page 3 parties, catch glimpses of those and see music videos and films that have women exposing more than they cover and men gyrating in a questionable manner. At the same time we also see major embarassment while discussing things like boy/girl friends / love and beyond that.

Basically the place is a potpouri of cultures and every single thing is different for every single individual...

just to say that,same goes for intimacy as portrayed on Indian screen.

I find it alright if shown in a manner that is acceptable to me...I would prefer it without asthmatic breathing and desperate attempts to kiss (but as kissing itself is not acceptable acc to some twisted logic..no actual kiss)...everything that is done looks like a precap leading to the actual event, though the actual event rarely happens, unless the track leads to kids or worse. I feel that ,given the scenario, it can look quite disgusting..so I might as well not see something that makes me want to puke instead of feeling the love!

If the channel has the guts to show, show us some real passion, skip the trying to be passionate so-called intimate scenes. Then people can actually decide whether they WANT to watch it or not. This in-between stuff eeks me out most of the time.

On a general note, I think Intimacy should be shown in an appropriate manner on screen and people should be left to decide what they want to see. I'd like to see such freedom of expression as against partial censorship that makes things worse.

i think intimate scnes are shown in all d movies now!!!its nothin new or wrong in fact couples do get physical!as far as kids watch such things den ppl its high tym every1 realises tht in ol upcuming movies or their teasers which are shown on tv as an ad kids also watch it they noe wats goin on!dey aren't stupid!!Also in miley jab kinda showz dey are not showin smoochs or rapes which has been showed on other showz!!!there's nothin wrong in such scenes!!!intimacy is now a part of daily newz!!so plz open ur mind!

Well, wid parents-they r absolutely vulgar and gross!!!! its so so so embarassing to watch wid parents ..............

I believe it doesn't matter whether it is a youth based show or family show..if the story demand intimacy between two ppl to be shown , it should be shown & of course it should be shown in a proper way supported by well written dialogues, proper acting by the actors, no weird camera angle & good editing.
Not necessary intimate scene means it has to be a vulgar scene, sometime even some actors expression or cheap dialogue can make a scene vulgar. & if we r talkin abt youth based shows , then todays youth hv access over internet,movies of different countries,thousands of tv channels of different countries.....so it doesn't really matter whether it is shown in indian tv or not, it solely depend on ppl's choice(both young & elder generation).what they want to watch in tv.
So in my POV, showing intimacy in tv in proper way .shouldn't be such a big deal.

For every 'cute' scene I would gladly sacrifice a million 'hot' scenes.

Nice as 'hot' scenes are, they cannot compare to 'cute' scenes which are, to be honest, PRICELESS.

How is Pehli baar comparable to 'sirf mein bacha hoon' or last week's 'mein jao?' when I just melted into a pool of goo!!! How is SaJan's date comparable to 'januable' or the hug after the court hearing.

Every relationship has its 'hot' scenes but only true love has cute and precious scenes, both on TV and in real life. Trust me!

Truly they are in completely different leagues.

{Sorry, I thought I had better edit because it isn't very clear what side I am on. Just incase the above didn't make sense, I think that hot scenes are unnecessary and don't need to be included, just replace them with cute scenes}

whats one persons vulgar/crude maybe palatable to another

for me its the story which matters whether in movies or on tv....so if story demands/ requires some show of physical intimacy , fine. ...its okay..

problem is why r we more comfortable watching an english movie/serial kiss but we wud squirm to watch one shot on ppl who look lik us??????????
not all of them r shot badly (in fact i felt mjht was pretty okay)...ive no answers...maybe our future future future gen will be more comfortable and have no discussions lik this

mainly we r a society in transition and such a society always has its share of conflicts between whats new and old/ whats static and changing....

personally im fine watching intimate scenes esp mjht ones bcoz they made sense to me
wud rather watch those with family and friends than say ad on virgin mobile/ axe/amul macho

and i agree whole heartedly with the opinion that to avoid a lip kiss , everything gets handled badly..things wud be much simpler if they just show a smooch and leave it at that
