Few meanings:

Pure : free from moral fault or guilt c : marked by chastity :

So by this both MN and SG scenes were Pure

Passionate :

having, compelled by, or ruled by intense emotion or strong feeling; fervid: a passionate advocate of socialism. extremely sensual

So i guess both were passionate enough

Intimate : very private; closely personal: one's intimate affairs.
characterized by or suggesting privacy or intimacy; warmly cozy: an intimate little caf.
(of an association, knowledge, understanding, etc.) arising from close personal connection or familiar experience.
engaged in or characterized by private relations.

Hence both were equally intimate

Innocent - free from moral wrong; without sin; pure

Thus maybe both innocent too...........

So i make myself clear?..................

So we come back to out question................ the question is not whether MN were more intimate or SG......... whether it was a barn or whether it was a date........ the question is why this change in stance.........

@Aditi....... SG scene and MN scene ended at the same point...... they were both intimate and romantic.....the question here is not about that though........... question is why the change in stance.......when MN were bashed why is this passion right for SG...........
