I was just watching yesterday's epi and I realized this:
Till now whatever we've seen on MJHT was more or less "seen before" in the sense that most of the scenes and in fact even the basic storyline of "opposite attracts in a college background" was "inspired" from here and there. The show was more of a "collage" of romantic scenes, comedy scenes, friendship scenes, family scenes, etc. taken from different places(basically movies). But still we loved it as it was a breath of fresh air from the typical saas-bahu serials running on TV. It was not the story but the actors(whom we love so much), and their emotions that has been the USP of the show.
But now i think it's become totally different!! We are witnessing a complete transformation in the basic approach of the show. MayUr are now facing a very practical and real challenge in their life-of sustenance. First we saw mayu's mom's job loss and now this! MJHT is not lovey-dovey, time-pass show any more. With Nupur being abandoned by her family and Mayank having nowhere to go(how much can shilpa aunty do?at the most she can be moral support which is also crucial),it seems a dead end. I am really looking forward to their story ahead. Will they struggle and find a place for themselves in this ruthless world? Will they be able to run a family? Or will Bauji's prediction come true and they will become a nuisance for each other?
Their love is on a major test. Its not just romancing anymore. They have to stand up on their own feet that too at a time when they're not even done with their college? How are the students going to accept them after marriage? How will Nupur overcome this feeling of being orphaned?Basically, their life is in a complete mess. The only thing that is right is that they are together and their friends are with them. But will this be enough?
All I wanted to point out was that this new shaadi track has opened up completely new doors for the show. I don't think we've seen such a thing before on TV. MJHT HAS BECOME A YOUTH SHOW IN ITS TRUE SENSE. A new story has just become. Where they have a chance to portray the difficulties faced by this college-going couple. I think they will both need a part-time job now. Mayank is a career-oriented person and this marriage has put his dreams at stake as it is not just about him anymore. He will have to take each step carefully and nupur will have to become hid support. There is a lot of scope of some real-life drama, new entries, etc. How will MayUr love face so much of emotional, social, and financial pressure is the big question.
But I am certainly not doubting their capabilities. Mayank is a smart guy and Nupur is a strong girl. They have amazingly different qualities and together they complete each other. If both of them do their best, the world will be under their feet. Self=made people are the most successful ones. They are starting from a zero but i hope they will one day have everything one can need.
But one thing is for sure- MayUr are not the "happy-love story" anymore.
Hoping for the best,
Shilpa.
