in today's calcutta times(24th October), an interview of nishant malkani came out, with the heading "Miley Jab Nishant". here it is-
Nishant Malkani is a popular face in the city's modelling circuit. Be it ad commercials, print or ramp, one can't miss out on his face. And the latest feather in his cap is that the model has bagged a meaty role in Miley Jab Hum Tum, a megaserial aired on national television. "I couldn't believe my ears when I got the news that I had been roped in to play Adhiraj in Miley Jab Hum Tum. Many actors had auditioned for the part and with their acting stints, they certainly had an edge over me. This will be my acting debut." says Nishant, who will be leaving for Mumbai today as the shooting kick-starts from next week. So, how tough was the audition? "When I think of it now, I guess it was. They had asked me to play a cool dude-one, who is good looking, have girls drooling over him, happens to be popular among friends in college and is good at sports and studies at the same time. Incidentally, Adhiraj's character happens to be just the same," informs Nishant. Originally from Delhi, Nishant came to Kolkata to pursue hotel management and got into modelling by chance. "I as travelling in the Metro when a model coordinator spotted me and insisted that I get into modelling. I got my portfolio done and circulated the same. Soon, assignments started pouring in. In fact, I was offered a lead role in a Bengali film directed by Shankar Roy, but I couldn't take it up because of my studies," says Nishant. But now the model wants to try his luck in acting both on small and big screen. "I will also try for films both in Tollywood and Bollywood," Nishant signs off.
