@pink- Please go read that line again.. I said he says those cheezy lines IN SRK style... But when SRK characters say certain lines they are not cheezy or atleast they dont sound that way because his character is not that of Mayank.
@blue- it is NOT contradictory... I said I love the character of Raj and Rahul and Mayank trying to be a SRK clone is turning out to be horrible.. I feel like my fav characters of SRK are being insulted by having Mayank trying to be like them. That is the point of my topic. Mayank is Mayank and Rahul/Raj are a whole different thing on its own.. I like them for their own separate reasons and the two should not be mixed..
@brown- DDLJ is one of my FAVORITE movies and I must have watched the movie a 1000+ times by now. I have all the dialogues memorized and ofcourse analyzed both those characters to its core.. Please get all the facts straight before accusing someone of saying how wrong they are..
@ bold-it's your eyes that keep seeing him as acting like SRK characters, I don't see that, thus I think Mayank is being Mayank. I'm sorry your fav. SRK characters are being insulted, I would just recommend you only think Mayank is Mayank and stop drawing comparisions & parallels with infamous SRK roles. It's your opinion of this whole SRK role comparison and I'm not going to convince you otherwise. You see what you WANT to see. 😳
I have only interpreted what you have posted and what you have responded to me with. I'm not accusing you of anything, but yes I do see contradictions in your response, and that is my critique of your criticism of Mayank. In DDLJ Raj is a flirt and to some extent an opposite character to simran, but what brings them together that a little integral part of them is the same, which dreams of love. Raj could've won over Simran in his own grand style, but he didn't because that is not what Simran and her family believe in. He moulded his romance style to Simran's dreams and became Simran's Raj. That was not a character change in him, that was him in love with Simran. Likewise Simran would do things that Raj would've liked. Like her kiss on his cheek. 😳 Anyway I'm not dissecting DDLJ because such dissections just lead to other characters becoming involved, like here by dissecting Mayank, SRK has become involved all of a sudden. 😕 Mayank is fulfilling Nupur's dream fantasy. You think the fantasy is OTT, and impractical, but at the end it is a DREAM FANTASY, which Nupur DREAMS of! This is something Mayank is fulfilling to the best of his ability, no comparisions to momumental roles of SRK, in my opinion OF COURSE. 😊
