Well, samrat claims to be a cool n confident guy. But he really has confidence issues! If he studies a little, Sam thinks it will affect his image bigtime. Friends say one or two things to him and he gets all worked up and irritated. He was guru samrat, the one who told gunjan that she can become just like him. but confident he is not. Gunjan wasn't confident about singing on stage and Samrat isn't confident about maintaining his image. Like gunjan, he is afraid of people too, but in a diff way.
if Samrat was confident, he would be able to handle studies along with his cool image -- you know, balance the 2 together. if Sam does, which I think eventually he will, he will be liked and more importantly, respected, by more people.

I agree with you totally here mht fan. A lot of guys who act cool and confident, are only socially that way because of what they do, in his case, play ball or music or whatever. But they are also human, they feel that they belong, and perhaps if they change from who people perceive them to be, then they won't belong anymore. It is total insecurity that keeps him from turning away from Dia and it's Dia insecurity as a girl which makes her feel she has to manipulate him to keep him apart from Gunjan. The more popularity you have, the more you feel you have to lose if any part of your persona changes. If he had a bunch of smart friends, then he wouldnt feel so badly about studies.
