Cut to: Excel College – Next morning
Nupur is walking to class, still fuming over what happened the previous night. She is wearing a new suit today and has kept her hair loose. Quite a few admiring glances follow her but she isn't even looking at them. Samrat, who is hanging about, waiting for Gunjan to arrive, catches sight of her and goes upto her.
Samrat: hie Nupur!
Nupur: chalo acha hai, koi toh hai jiske paas hie bolne ka time hai.
Samrat: kya hua? Aaj subah subah karela khaya tha kya?
Nupur: by God Samrat, Mayank jaise log ho life me toh karele ki kya zarurat!
Samrat: ab kya kiya usne?
Nupur: arey kal bulaya tha – khaer wo chodo, tum batao kisi ko dhund rahe the?
Samrat: haan tumhari behan ko. Kaha hai woh?
Nupur: Gunjan shayad class me hogi. (She sees Mayank talking to CJ.) Tum jaao, main bhi jaake us monkey ki khabar leti hu.
Samrat: all the best!
Cut to: Mayank and CJ
CJ: dekh dude, Nupur aa rahi hai. Now for God sake, koi jhagda mat karna. Aur main jaati hu, jo bhi baat karni hai kar le.
(She winks at him and leaves. When Nupur sees her leaving, she feigns an irritated expression and makes as if she had come to talk to her.)
Nupur: toh tumne CJ ko bhi yaha se bhaga diya? Tumhare aas paas kya kaatein lage hue hai ke koi tik hi nahi paata?
Mayank: paas aogi toh pata chalega na Nupur.
Nupur: sorry lekin mere paas bahut KAAM hai. Tumhe kya lagta hai ek tum hi ho jo kaam karte ho?
Mayank: actually wo kal –
Nupur: kal kya? Bulake aise mana karna kitne bad manners hai pata hai? Main Aunty ko tumhari complaint karungi. Wo kitni pyari hai aur tum ho ki – by God, langoor!
Mayank: langoor? Toh ab main monkey nahi hoon?
Nupur: nahi, monkey ki itni insult karna bhi thik nahi hai.
Mayank: aur langoor ki insult karne ka toh legal law paas hua hai na?
Nupur rolls her eyes and is about to walk away when Mayank gets hold of her hand and pulls her towards him suddenly. She wasn't expecting it and is really taken aback. They are so close she can hear his breathing. Nupur feels too shy to even look into his eyes.
Nupur: Mayank! Kya kar rahe ho?
(Still holding her close, he lifts one hand to touch her left earring, which was about to fall down. )
Mayank: yeh girne wala tha, ab thik kar diya.
Nupur: kya?
(Mayank now lets her go and gives her a broad grin.)
Mayank: arey agar gir jaata toh earring khone ke gam me tum pura college sir pe utha leti!
Nupur: tumhe toh main dekh lungi!
Mayank: toh dekho na, neeche kyun dekh rahi ho? Kaatein toh nahi chubhe na?
(Before Nupur can respond, Uday makes a sudden entry with his trademark idiotic grin.)
Uday: hey guys! Pata hai aaj mere liye surprise hai? Kal raat ko blank call par blank call aa raha tha!
Nupur: Uday bhaiya, aap bhi. Woh toh koi customer care wale honge.
Mayank: haan, tumhari awaz sunke darr gaye honge.
Nupur and Mayank laugh as Uday makes faces at them.
Cut to: Classroom – Samrat and Gunjan
They are discussing the chapter taught by Miss Aha in her previous lecture, interlacing it with discussions on their date.
Samrat: waise pata hai chashmish, kal ki date me ek baat missing reh gayi.
Gunjan: kya?
Samrat: hum dono ne dance nahi kiya!
Gunjan: (blushing) Samrat, mujhe dance karna nahi aata.
Samrat: oh come on, mujhe bolna tha. Main sikha dunga! Acha abhi sikhayu? (He stands up and extends a hand for her to hold.)
Gunjan: kya? (Looking around at other students, she sees all the girls look at her enviously.) Pagal ho gaye ho kya?
Samrat: chashmish please, try toh karo. Ek dance bas?
(In the meantime, Dia and Annie enter the classroom and sense what is going on.)
Annie: oh God, Dia babe! Ab yeh Miss Morena class me bhi Samrat ko nahi chodegi? Tumhare haath se toh Samrat chala hi gaya samjho!
Dia: shut up Annie! Dia se Sammy ko koi nahi cheen sakta. Sammy ko pata nahi hai ke main usse pyar karti hu, tabhi wo mujhe kehne se darta hai.
Annie: are u sure ki aisa hai?
Dia: I am always right babes. Bas ab dekhti jaao, aaj college ke baad main Sammy ko sab clearly bata dungi. Phir uske paas Kandy ke alawa kisi ke liye time nahi hoga.
(She smiles to herself and leaves the classroom.)
Cut to: Canteen
Uday is sitting on a table alone and going to the washroom every 5 minutes to make sure his hair is right. Chacko passes by his table and waves.
Chacko: kya baat hai dude? Akele akele baitha hai?
Uday: mujhe disturb mat karo. Main yaha special request pe baitha hu.
Chacko: Chinu ne order kiya hai kya?
Uday: abe chup. Chinu ki toh main – actually mujhe letter aya tha ki mere liye ek surprise hai yaha. Tu bhag yaha se, hurrr!!
(A really pretty girl enters the canteen and Uday's hopes rise.)
Uday: kya baat hai Uday! Tera toh good luck hi kamaal hai!
(But sadly, she goes and sits at another table, with her boyfriend.)
Uday: oho, unlucky girl. Uday ko kho diya.
After some more time passes, Vatsala enters the canteen. She has dressed completely in black – black top, black jeans. She carries a bunch of roses in one hand and a big card in the other. Uday looks at her and gapes.
Uday: oh no! Kahi surprise yeh kaali ghata toh nahi laayi? Bhag Uday.
(He tries to hide under the table as Vatsala approaches, but in vain. She comes upto him and taps him on the shoulder. Either the tap is too forceful or Uday is too flustered – but he falls down on the ground.)
Vatsala: oh sorry darling! Tum thik toh ho?
(As he gets up slowly, he nods and then stares.)
Uday: darling? Kiska darling? Yeh toh deedz ke pichle doggie ka naam tha.
Vatsala: haha!! Udu, yeh tumara sense of humour na. Tabhi toh tumhe itna pasand karti hoon main.
(Shyly, she looks down and flutters her eyelashes.)
Uday: Udu? kya? Kaun? Kab? Kaha?
(Vatsala holds out the roses and the card to him.)
Vatsala: I love you Udu. Kya tum bhi mujhse?
Chacko and his group has by now noticed what is going on and they tell others too. Everyone stands up and comes and surrounds Uday's table, cheering and shouting "Come on Udu, say yes! Say yes!"
Uday looks at Vatsala, then at the crowd and then at the roses. He says to himself.
Uday: dil ke armaan aansuon me beh gaye, sapne me rani aur hakikat me idli ke ho gaye!
