Hi there!
I know that it's been a long time since I've made a proper post over here. But then again, the days calls for it. Given that today is the curtain closing upon this show that has given us exactly one year and eight months full of pleasant memories, I think that this post is more than deserved. I've been wondering for a while whether I wanted to post anything at all, but I knew that it would be wrong and ungrateful of me if I didn't give it a final goodbye properly. I've never learnt to live with regrets, you see.
Before I get on, I want to thank both Shakti and Radhika for their outstanding contribution in maing Ranveer and Ishaani who they are, and for breathing that life and soul into them. Leaving all of their "tactics and antics" aside, I cannot thank them enough of giving us two characters that are to stay with us for a long, long time, no matter how flawed they were. They've put in their blood, sweat and soul into pulling off something that was already meant to be a failure, and they've given me several things to cherish. I wish them all the luck in their future endeavours and hope that they do get what they deserve.
This show has given me some very, very dear friends who I will take along even after this journey comes to an end today. This show has taught me a lot of things that I thought incapable of any EK show to teach me, and has made me discover more about myself than I thought there was to discover. But above all, this show has given me Ranveer and Ishaani, two people who could stun and astonish people with the scorching love they hold for each other, even though if it meant destroying themselves. They certainly aren't the smartest of the lot, and have earned some well-deserved bashing for their excellent use of brains, but then again, since when did love see logic? (this is even implied to us who've stuck on till the end)
I know people are tired and fed up of reading the same thing over and over that only causes more painful memories, so I've kept this short and sweet. Before I make this too lengthy and boring, I just want to tell the two founding people because of whom we are seeing this day that karma is a bitch. I needn't specify any further. I don't know where we are all to head after this, or whether we are to get SR back together for a S2 or even a new show, but know that we've all been through a journey that's given us loads, so take the best from it.
Wrapping this up with a bow, as a small tribute to the show and IshVeer, I've written this small elegy as a parting note:
They vowed to take us through the valleys of love,
The sky blue and filled with doves,
Their story was meant to touch our hearts,
We never realized when it became a part.
From friends to lovers they walked together,
They journey so taut with hardships and desires,
The unbearable loss of innocence and love,
Broke our hearts like the broken doves.
Death loomed around them like a vicious ring of fire,
They fought through it heart and soul like a warrior,
Nothing could stop them when Love stood sentinel,
Even Fate had to change ways for their love to dwell.
Passion struck; their souls were set afire,
Their wounds healed, their hearts entire,
Life was found amidst the roots of the dead,
Their emotions reawakened; our lives sailed.
Would they risk it all?
Was it worth it all?
Was it to be life long?
Would their love live on?
It didn't alas, but their essence will,
To our broken hearts, even though it does kill,
They gave us more than just their story,
They gave us what was nature's glory.
For love finds a way to seep into our hearts,
And stories etch their marks in bits and parts,
Their story taught us that love was true,
It could fight anything so long as it was due.
We learnt to live lives in the shoes of another,
Where they served as our escape, our invisible benefactor.
Today, as we part ways, our hearts are heavy,
Our souls tired, our eyes teary.
Our paths may never cross ways, but know that we love you,
For everything beautiful comes to an end - colours and hue,
Their story was meant to touch our hearts,
It did and of our life it will always remain a part.
