Just dont understand this Ishani character!

Hey guys, I am posting here for the first time, but have been lurking and following all your funny comments/discussion since past few months!
I came across MATSH sometime in November last year while flipping channels, loved that particular episode and then went back to watch all episodes since the first leap! Now I normally dont watch hindi serials and esp BT crap, but I was hooked on to MATSH, because of Ranveer-Ishani, the story line was a refreshing change from saas-bahu serails! These characters were straight out of some Mills and Boons novel, something I hadnt seen on Indian TV! I was later pleasantly surprised to see this serial was from BT! So far CVs had done an awesome job, there was rational to the plot and Ishani's actions were justified! Especially their marriage and her slowly coming to realize of Ranveer's true intentions was an awesome phase, I still love to check out those episodes! Even after Ranveer was shot, his reaction was justifed towards her!
So now onto Ishani bashing, I just dont understand how does this woman justify her actions actions and her assumptions OMG they just make me pull my hair!! There is no reflection on her actions or learning anything from past! Even recently she assumed that she had done pati-patni wala thing 😲!! Now any woman who has gone through the process, this is something you just know has happened, there are no doubts LOL! And she keeps saying she learnt from Harshad "ek akele ka pyar dono ke liye kafi hota hai" but hello didnt you see Harshad meant it in a different context all together! He never let Faluguni away from him and all his lessons were rightfully learnt by Ranveer! I feel that Ranveer will have no problem going back on his promise to Ritika once he realizes what the truth is, but Ishani has committed to Shikar and is now hell bent on "nibhaing her wafadari"!! She only committed to Shikhar as he wanted Ranveer to move on, but what about after he finds about Ritika. It would be cruel to leave him alone after he realizes his only friend has been cheating on him all along! I hate how she thinks with her pea brain that she is making best best decisions for both of them, which actually continue Ranveer's suffering!!
Anyway I know this is fiction, n not to think so much, but cant there be some rationale to fiction?? Radhika has become a fantastic actress, she essays emotional and romantic scenes beautifully, now it would be great if the CVs can add brains to her character as well!

Hello, Anukool. Welcome to the forum. Coming to your Ishani confusion, let me tell you it's not just Ishani but Ranveer too who has been acting extremely dumb for a long while. CVs need to give a lot of efforts to this show but they're not 'cause all they need is higher ratings which they have got to gain through their dumbness. Ishani's actions aren't justified, true, but I have a reasoning-- Ishani thinks of Ranveer as a part of her own, and that's why she doesn't shy away from hurting him because that directly hurts her as well. Her promise to lawyer is just a lame and cheaper way of the CVs to create "suspense", though they hardly realize it's not called creating suspense rather it's called playing with dignity of a woman and her love. Ishani isn't like this, no, not her character originally is like that, but these stupid CVs, to focus on a random extra, keep playing with both hers and Ranveer's characters not getting the character they're hellbent on glorifying possesses no quality of his own. All of them are borrowed from Ranveer and instilled in that someone. CVs can do so much with this show, add a lot of awesome stuff but they need to please the TRP aunties, so they're running of this shit. Uh! Just realized I vented out my frustrtation of the last two episodes on your post. xD

Hey ! Welcome to the forum! I am one of those who shares the same views as yours regarding Ishani and her characterization.
EH, whatever justification you do, regarding single soul and two bodies, I can't really take that! Even in y'days episode, she was more bothered abt Shikher than Ranveer and Ranveer had to remind her that he was talking about himself! She hasn't learnt anything from Harshad. Harshad would not have taken stupid decisions like her abt going back to Shikher! After Ri's truth is exposed, Ranveer will have no problem abt going back on his promise, where as Ishani even after knowing the truth that RI's child is not Ranveers she is going back to Shikher!

Its of course a fiction but Ishanis' character needs a lot of redemption if she has to be perceived as a bechara girl by one and all!

Dear fan.matsh, I get where you're coming from, but let's not forget there characters are sketched by the writers who can play with them the way they desire and here these stupid makers have made Ish something she isn't. I too was mad at her. In fact I still am. Thinking if everything goes just like she has planned then what about Ranveer? She'd go and get married to lawyer, perhaps would never love him back but compromise with life; something that we know Ranveer can never do for the obvious reasons. And once she leaves, to her own tragedy he'd be left all alone. But that's not how it's going to be turn out. Ishani definitely needs redemption and so does Ranveer. They both have been played with a lot for these stupid random extras. And I let go of it all thinking once Ranveer too was butchered because of shi and now it's Ishani. They both need redemption but I'm not looking forwards for anything. There might be few cute moments in between but the rest is going to be shit. Btw, what are you talking about? When did he have to remind about himself to Ishani? I missed that, I think.

If you rewatch the episode on the colors site it is at 6:52 min. Ranveer said that Shikhr was drunk, the look on Ish's face - omigod so much of concern! I sometimes I really feel she is in love with Shikher! That I have never felt with Ranveer. Though his character has been butchered too, his concern for Ritika always looked forced for me. Which is not the case with Ishani. May be it is the acting of Shakthi vs Radhika, or the actual portrayal of the characters by the CVs, I am not sure. But even there Ranveer wins hands down for me. His love for Ishani is never in doubt even when he is with Ritika but that is not the case with Ish. She keeps showing concern for Shi even if she is with Ranveer - forget when she is with Shikher!

I know Ranveer's character will be redeemed once Ri is exposed but Ish's character, Ranveer is bound to repent - I doubt whetehr anybody will bother abt redeeming her character! Bcoz she is doing all this after knowing the truth, so where does redemption come from? Unless of course, Shi turns negative! Which at the rate of whatver is happening, will not ever happen!

Hey fanmatsh i hav not watched the episode i may be completely wrong here but i think ish was worried bcoz ranveer at that was angry as if something had happened and when he told shikhar is drunk that she mi8 hav thought that shi had blurted out the truth thats why she was worried that my opinion i mi8 be completely wrong here...

Hey KPLuvRadzz - No it was not abt him blurting the truth. They even show her speaking to Shikher later where she shows concern for Shi... Just watch the video. And I don't think I am the only one who felt that way. One more person on the form also felt similar to me and she has posted the same saying she was disgusted with Ish's concern for Shikher in y'days episode and wud be quitting the show for now.

fan.matsh, I saw it. But I think I interpreted the scene bit differently. Ishani's action certainly piss me off most of the times but I don't agree that she doesn't love him. I have given explanations for this like hundreds of times so won't delve any further. :)

Even I do agree Ish loves Ranveer. But her characterization has been irritating me for a long time now. I can't stand over-mahanta type of females and Ish fits in that category! I was following YHM for sometime but I quit when Ishita brought Raman's first wife back home!! There is a line that you draw for your mahanta!

My request to Ishani, pls Ishani, first stand for yourself and your love! And then do your mahanta!
