Chapter 48
Fighter
Ranveer hated it to be completely honest , because the last thing he wants to do was to hurt the people he loved so dearly but it would keep them alive. Harshad Parekh had called him a fighter, cause that was what Ranveer had done from the day he was born.
Ranveer was doing the job he loved the most, was married to the dream girl and had a loving family that kept him on his toes. Yet Ranveer never forgot where he come from, did not forget his journey and never really buried the little boy who had fought to keep himself and his mother alive. He had always honored all the skills he learned through his childhood and all those things he had learned from Harshad Parekh during the years.
He had made a promise to himself that he would only use his skills to protect and had made a promise to never become his father.
He had always tried to be the man Hashad and Ishani believed he was, and he knew that after two weeks they would hate him and even the thought of that killed him, but he was willing to sacrifice everything for them if that meant keeping them alive.
He never really wanted to see his father again, because all he had for that man was hate in his heart. He had seen the man ruin his mother 's life in front of his eyes, he had hold Akash in his arms while he was bleeding to dead.
Ranveer closed his eyes and exhaled, it was not time to get emotional. He rang the doorbell to his father 's house and waited for him to open the door. After a short time he opened the door and Ranveer saw the man he had truly never wanted to meet again
Kailash had not changed much, he looked exactly like Ranveer imagined him to do. Kailash looked at him quizzically like he was trying to figure who Ranveer was, and Ranveer could not stop the dark laugh that escaped from his mouth.
"What you don't recognize me , because I don't have scars from your torture on my face ?" Ranveer asked his eyes were dark like the darkest night.
Kailash was totally taken back by this man's cold and mean answer, not having a slight idea that the man standing in front of him was his own biological son.
"Excuse me? " Kailash answered rudely, and Ranveer smiled a cold and wicked smile.
" I am Ranveer Vaghela , but you knew me as Ranveer Kapoor " Ranveer said and saw how Kailash lost color on his face.
" Ranveer , betha .." Kailash said surprised and Ranveer shuddered at the sound of the word son coming out from Kailash 's lips.
Ranveer looked at him angrily and shouted:
" Don't you dare call me your son " Ranveer said angrily and Kailash looked at his shoes ashamedly , understanding his son's anger .
" Okey , Ranveer do you want to come in ?" asked Kailash carefully not to make Ranveer more angry or upset.
" I don't want to but the destiny has compelled me to " Ranveer answered and went inside , he looked inside the house and saw that the house had not changed at all . The memories of the time he spent in the house he once used to live came in front of his eyes.
Ranveer quietly sat down on the brown couch and looked at Kailash who was studying Ranveer carefully.
" You know Ranveer , all these years I have imagined how you looked and how our meeting will be . But I was always afraid that life won't give me a chance to meet you" Kailash said emotional, thanking his stars for getting to meet his son.
Ranveer closed his eyes, he needed to be strong but his father was not making things easy for him. Opening his eyes, Ranveer looked at him disgusted and said:
" Look Mr. Kapoor I have not come her to listen to your emotional drama and I am not that stupid kid who wants your attention and love" Ranveer said and went towards the window and saw the neighborhood he was way too familiar with .
"Do you want to see your room ?" asked Kailash and Ranveer answered no.
"You are a stubborn man Mr. Kapoor , tell me what will you achieve by acting like a good and concerned dad ? " Ranveer said spiteful.
"I have changed Ranveer , I have realized my mistakes . I just want to know how Amba and you are doing? "said Kailash and the mention of his made Ranveer remember all the times Kailash had hurt his mother .
" Don't you dare say the name of my mother with your dirty tongue" Ranveer shouted and held him by the shirt collar , the anger Ranveer held for his father was clearly written on his face. But there was no track of anger on Kailash 's face , only regret.
Ranveer let his father go and said : " I have never been this tempted to punch someone on their face"
" I actually want to say thank you" Ranveer remarked , which came as shock for Kailash.
" In many ways the man I am today , is because of you . You see , thanks to you I know who I did not want to become so I have fought my whole to not become anything like you." Ranveer answered completely honest.
Kailash and Ranveer kept staring at each other in silence, at the end Ranveer sighed and sat down on the couch again and Kailash followed his step.
" What do you want from me , Ranveer ? asked Kailash and Ranveer closed his eyes , her came the hardest part .
" I need your help " Ranveer said , his voice cracking up. Ranveer hated the fact that there was no other way then ask for his cooperation
"My help ?" asked Kailash confused , before he added : " What on earth can I help you with ?" he asked bewildered.
Ranveer snorted and took out some pictures from the side pocket from his suit. He lay the pictures on the table, and Kailash recognized the three persons on the photo right away.
" This is... " Kailash was to shocked that he was not able to complete his sentence.
" Yes , this is the same gang members that you shared the same cell with " Ranveer answered and Kailash looked at him horrified.
" Ranveer you have to stay away from this people , I have never met anyone more dangerous than them " Kailash said tensed.
" Can't do that , because I have to protect my family from them " Ranveer answered completely calm .
" I don't understand " answered Kailash.
" Well it is simple actually ,just a few days before you tried to shoot me Harshad Parekh had a case involving this gang members , in this case he killed there brother in self-defense " Ranveer answered.
" They want revenge "
" Yes , but not by killing Harshad uncle but my taking everyone he cared from him " Ranveer said and got chills.
" I still don't understand where I come in this " Kailash remarked .
Ranveer continued like he had not heard anything : " And I won't let that happen , because Harshad Parekh and his family are my family . One thing I learned about family is that it is never easy but it is always worth it" Ranveer said and smiled a genuine smile for the first time in the evening.
" So apart from Harshad Parek's daughter , it is me who is the closest to him. He see me as his son , his pride and maybe that is why he gave his daughter 's hand to me" Ranveer said and kept his tears in bay.
Kailash seemed to understand where this were going and did not like it not for a single moment.
" So I will go undercover and meet these gang members , since they knew information about you and your whereabouts. I will pretend that I want to revenge from you and I am willing to do anything to do that even if that meant backstabbing Harshad Parekh with becoming a corrupt policeofficer and a murder " Ranveer said and looked at Kailash to see if he understood what he was telling him.
" What if they don't believe you ? " Kailash asked.
" Then they will kill me on the spot, and they will still get there revenge" Ranveer answered and Kailash saw no track of fear on his sons face.
" Are you not afraid to die ?" asked Kailash worried.
" No I am not afraid to die , especially not when it either comes to in the line of the duty or while protecting my family" Ranveer answered completely honest.
" Well if they kill you what will happened to your family ?" Kailash asked worried.
" We have a backup plan for that "
" And instead of following the stupid plan can't you follow the backup plan ?"
" I rather not , because that means that my family will have to live hiding there whole life , and that is not a good life" Ranveer answered his father .
" Okey another question , if they do believe you and don't kill you then what makes you sure that they won't go after rest of your family ."
"Because me being framed as a corrupt officer will kill Harshad 's pride and asking help from criminals will kill Harshad because the person he assumed as son will be just as hurtful to see someone kill any of his familymembers , and they won't go after Ishani and Disha because through me they will take revenge on them as well. After all I am Ishani's husband and the one who Disha trusted with her cancer"
" How do you think they know about all this ?"
"Because they have researched, after all everyone who wants revenge does there reserch "
" So did you understand the plan ?" Ranveer asked .
" As crazy as it is , I still understood it. But the question remains where do I come in this and why are you trusting me with this"
" Well I will shoot you , but don't worry it will not kill you . I am not trusting you , I am trusting that you want some money so tell me how much will you take for testifying that I attempted to murder you in cold blood?" asked Ranveer and saw pain in his father eyes .
" I don't want money , for the first time my son is asking something from me and I will do it." Ranveer looked at him surprised by his answer.
" You know that everyone you love will hate you, and trust me Ranveer there is no worse feeling than that" Kailash answered .
" You do what you have to do to keep your family safe" Ranveer said calmly and stood up to leave.
" Ranveer"
Ranveer turned around to see Kailash , and for the first time he did not have hate for his father , only pain for whatever happened.
" I have really changed"
Ranveer nodded and said " That 's good" and turned once again to leave before he turned again and said :
" I would forgive you without a second thought if I was the only person you had hurt . But you took Akash from me , you took Akash from his parents and her sister . You hurt my mom , you stole her smile and it took me years to bring back that smile. For that I can't forgive you" Ranveer answered and saw the tears of regret is Kailash 's face.
" But I am glad I came today , in some ways this gave me a closure" Ranveer answered , taking one last look in the house he had lived for some years and then left the house .
AN : So I am finally done with this chapter ,I thought I would take me years . Hopefully this will makes sense and answered some of your questions :)
