Why dont Riya keep that money in the bank and pay by cheques?

And Shantiya lost a lot of interest if she did not keep all those lakhs in the bank. Around 2 to 3 lakhs.

Keeping that much money is not only dangerous but also illegal.

The money is in the bank. There was a scene shown where raghav asks for shanti's thumbprint on cheque and then he gets the money in a bag from the bank.

So Shantiya secretly opened a bank account and stashing away the money. Good.
When Riya wanted to keep the money in the bank, they behaved as if they have never seen a bank.
