Great post mA! May Allah (swt) bless you and your family.

Got to learn quite a few things in this post. May all the souls of the companions of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family who were martyred in this month rest in peace.

And many people may not know but a lot of lives were lost in Muharram so please don't say happy muharram or muharram mubarak :)

Jezak Allah o khair (May Allah give you best reward) for liking my post and for your precious prayers. i wish the same for you.

ameen for all prayers.

i m glad i was able to add in your knowledge

you are right many people lost their lives in Muharram but there is no month in which many people have not lost their lives as the year has only 12 months and the world is going on since thousands of years. still the difference is that the people lost their lives in this month are religiously important and beloved to us.

Hey Hushkila,

Thank you for the response, although I disagree with you.

I am a convert- I was a Hindu born, and I converted to be Shia Muslim a few years ago.

The preachings you are talking of above ^, are different compared to what I have learnt.

Muharram is the month of Mourning, the Qur'an says that the one who mourns/sheds tears for Husayn in this Holy month, is a blessed soul. YES, it does say that one shouldn't mourn BUT for worldly stuff. Mourning for the sacrifice of Imam Husayn and his family is actually encouraged.

Once again, I respect your point of view, because we are both taught different things. Thank you for all the information.

Cheers!
😊

Assalam o alikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh again my dear

First of all i welcome you to be a member of Islamic Family. U r blessed that your heart is open for islam Alhamdulilah (all the praise is for Allah). I congrate you to for embarrassing Islam and for that your all sins are forgiven and its like now your deeds will be written from the beginning (with ref to following Hadith)

When someone converts to Islam, God forgives all of his previous sins and evil deeds. A man called Amr came to the Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, and said, "Give me your right hand so that I may give you my pledge of loyalty." The Prophet stretched out his right hand. Amr withdrew his hand. The Prophet said: "What has happened to you, O Amr?" He replied, "I intend to lay down a condition." The Prophet asked: "What condition do you intend to put forward?" Amr said, "That God forgive my sins." The Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, said: "Didn't you know that converting to Islam erases all previous sins?" ( Muslim, #121, and Mosnad Ahmad, #17357)

now coming to your point, my dear its not written any where in Quran that mourning for Hussain (May Allah be pleased with Him) is encouraged as per my best knowledge, i have done MA in Islamic Studies and can understand a bit arabic because of the knowledge of Arabic Garammer and language (it has been my subject too). still all the knowledge is with Allah if you find any such verse (with the exactly same meanings) you can please let me know about it.

I believe i m only a muslim and not from any sect as Our beloved Prophet Mohammad Peace be upon Him taught us to be only a msulim, and a muslim means a follower. I have left many things which i have been use to of doing since my childhood when i didn't find them in Quran and authentic Ahadith. according to Muslim Scholaras Sahahe e sitta (Sahee Bukahri, Saheeh Muslim, Sunan Ibn e Majah, Sunan Abu Dawood, Jamea Tirmidhi and Sunan Nisai are the most authentic books out of which Saheeh Bukhari is considered as most authentic book after Quran due to its very tough criteria of collecting hadith) if i don't find confirmation of any act from Quran o hadith, i stop following it, and if i find some thing preached there i try my best to follow it.

U have a right to disagree for sure, i have just convyed the message with all the traceable authentic references as per my best knowledge. Rest all the knowledge with Allah Almighty

TM, How can u say there is no confirmation about this? There is already a hadith clearly tells it and a lots of proofs, please check ur info before posting...

as per my best knowledge there is no hadith telling that the shahadat is going to happen in Muharram on the "Day of ASHURA", however if you can pls give me an exact traceable ref from Sahah e Sitta ( the six most authentic books of ahdith acc to Muslim Scholars) i m ready to believe.

We can find about shahadat of Hussain
and Umar (may Allah be pleased with Them) in Ahdtih but not the confirmation of the date that's what i meant. hope i made it clear now?
