Hey guys,

I need a small favor from members who live in India...ok so i live in the USA and I have noticed that in India, I am not sure if it's true or not....but 1 lakh over there has 5 zero's in it....like 1 lakh would be written as 1,00,000....ok so if I want to covert 300,000 dollars by 40 rupees for each dollar then I get the sum of:

12,187,500.000 Rupees

So how would that be read.....is that 12 crores or 12 lakhs.....

I hope I didn't sound too confusing and I'll really appreciate it if someone can clear up my confusion. Thankz in advance

lakh means hundred thousand, one lakh is 1 hundred thousand

crores means 10 million, so 1 crore is 10 million

i think you would say that 12,187,500.000 Rupees is 1 crore, 187 lakh and 500 rupees,

i think thats how you say it, i don't live in india so i'm not sure.
