Where do I even start - maybe from the moment I fell for this adorable couple. I started watching this late, after quite some water had flowed under the bridge (now made infamous). I started off watching in bits and pieces from the time in the farmhouse when Sanskaar, Lakshya and Swara carry out their plan to expose Ragini. My reaction was - "Okay sounds and looks good, maybe I shall continue watching this show. And a couple of days later comes the epic scene, for me, when I fell for them, how can I forget that first flutter of silken wings, that first whisper of my adoration for them that would soon sweep through my heart to dominate my soul!
It was the scene, after Sanskaar overhears Swara saying that she wants to give their marriage a chance (she thinks she is doing it so that Lakshya and Raging will stay together) and Swara decides to tell him about her decision unaware that he knows. He in jeans and a pink blazer (PINK!!!!!!!!!!! but only he can carry it off) and she in a brilliant orange (again not my favourite colour) - and they are walking in slow motion, she remembers his confession "Main tumse pyar karne laga hoon, I love you Swara" while he recalls, " Tumne mujhe dhoka diya hain, hum dono dost the, phir humare beech ye pyar vyar ki batein kahan se aageyi"
I am speechless, my heart skips a beat and I forget to breath. OMG - what have I been missing? How dumb and stupid could I be? How is it that I never caught this magic?
It is said that the bigger they are the harder they fall. And I fell, very, very hard for them. But...what a fall it was. I spent almost two weeks, catching up the episodes on a marathon sprint (not proud of it, I had to steal time from office) and I discovered this forum.
"If you meet somebody and your heart pounds, your hands shake, your knees go weak, that's not the one. When you meet your soulmate, you will fee calm. No anxiety, no agitation." - Buddhist saying
SwaSan are a true epitome of the above saying - as you wrote those butterflies in one's tummy, rainbows in the eyes, it sounds very nice but imagine spending your whole life on weak knees and shaky hands. They are truly a golden couple who have actually revolutionised the concept of true love, and yet somehow making more real, more believable. Anyone can love and live with the good in someone, but willing to love them after seeing the worst? They have seen what a mess each of them could be, seen their flaws inside out, the scars on their souls, they know how moody each can get, how hard they are to handle at times and still want them in their lives.
They taught us that true love does not mean being inseparable, it means being separated and even then nothing changes. That love means remember that many things one has done right rather than the one thing done wrong. That love is unconditional. That it means standing by on good days and standing closer on bad days. Yes, they do complete - each other as well their thoughts and sentences. And as John Keats said "Two souls with but a single thought, two hearts that beat as one"
And this reminds me of another quote "When a man truly loves a woman she becomes his weakness. When a woman truly loves a man he becomes her strength. I think this is quite appropriate for SwaSan.
Swara is Sanskaar's weakness in the sense that for the sake of her happiness, he was and is willing to give up everything and would have done anything to bring a smile on her face. For him, she and her happiness are all that matters. Remember, he was even willing to divorce her, let her go from his life, even though he knew it would break him, because he thought that she would be happy. She is his weakness because he can never choose anyone or anything over her, she is paramount for him. Swara is indeed his weakness, for he firmly believed her to be alive even when everyone else gave up on her, his only explanation being, "I am alive and breathing, so how can she be dead?
Sanskaar on the other hand, is her strength, with him by her side - irrespective of the labels she gave their association over the period of time; accomplices, friends, lovers, soul mates she could take on the world. When everyone was against her, she stood firm, secure in the knowledge that he was beside her. It was this strength that allowed her to overcome every obstacle, including death to come back to him.
It is such a beautiful paradox, she is his weakness so he always lets her see his vulnerability and is willing to bare his soul to her, to give her the power to hurt him knowing that she will never do it.
He is her strength, so she hides her true self behind her fears, always aware that he can read every emotion of hers in her eyes, sometimes even before she herself recognises that emotion for what it is.
Now that the show is over, even if I have not watched many episodes I have very fond memories of SwaSan who captured my imagination and stole my heart like none before. And as a final word, I would like thank the actors - I always admire artists, irrespective of the art form they choose to express themselves - painting, writing, embroidery, cooking, the list is endless. They give of themselves, freely, without being asked for it, they pour their time, energy, ideas and a bit of their soul in their art, asking nothing in return, if ever, but a minute of our appreciation. VK and Helly have truly brought SwaSan to life.Originally posted by: .Avengers.
