To all those who stumble into this thread, My apologies.

I made this thread because I am perpetually confused as to how a specific picture would look when posted, I mean how those sizes width * height = how does it look.

I hate it when it becomes a trial and error for me, I am not sure if we can edit the picture, so I have to simply delete it and restart the process.

So this post is for me and other members who might have faced a similar problem.

I simply love this image : https://i.imgur.com/n21Sdat.jpg and will use this for all my sampling😊

The original size of the picture is 4669 * 2626 and when I posted it without resizing it, it got posted as 550*1000 (looked quite yuck, so deleted it):

Resized to 700*375 (not bad) - however that is what I put in the picture box, the IF codes reformatted it to 550 * 375 - so the aspect ratio is off 😭

The next is going to be 600* 338 (we would have to maintain the aspect ratio) - same as above, IF reformatted it to 550 * 338😭

Then it is 500* 282

Next is 400* 226 (remember the aspect ratio has to be maintained)

Now it is 300* 170

Then 200 * 113

Finally 100* 57

Any smaller it would be stamp size (the above itself is close to it) and would be thumbnails. The above shows the widths decreasing by 100 and the corresponding decrease in height.

So the maximum width allowed is 550😊

I am so pleased with myself, so decided to see how it would look where the height was changed intentionally and the width altered to keep the aspect ratio.😆😆😆

The original is https://i.imgur.com/jiSG1xZ.jpg and has the size as 384*512

The first one resized to the maximum height allowed : 750*1000 (though IF formatted it to 550 *999)

Next is 675*900 (again IF formatted to 550*900😭)

Then it is 600 * 800 (though IF made it 550*800😡)

Then 525 * 700

Now 450 * 600 (remember we are changing the height, and the width has to be altered to maintain the aspect ratio)

Then 375*500

Now it is 300*400

225* 300

150*200

And finally - 75 * 100

Note to myself: resizing to a size larger than the original blurs the image, and inversely, resizing to a smaller size enhances the image.😊

One final post where it is a square (resizing is easy peasy😊 as width and height are equal)

Finding an image that was square was tough😭 but I did it: https://i.imgur.com/ZGl86On.jpg. This picture has an original size of 3072 * 3072😊

As the maximum permitted width is 550 the pic would be 550*550

Next is 500*500

Then 400 * 400

Now 300*300

Then 200*200

Finally 100*100

And that is it😃

Im sorry , but I don't understand your post . Is your post made to ask a query or is it made just to check how different sizes look when it is posted?

No query - just as a reference for me - I am quite confused as to how those sizes translate once posted. Is it okay or should the post not be made?
