Oh dear dear. I had no idea. It was long ago when someone suggested me to read this but I was too lousy so I declined. I just remembered that it was a historical so suggested it. Didn't have any idea.

If your book-hungry mind hasn't satisfied yet and you are looking for a make-over, then here we are, ready with a new menu card! Keeping all kind of bookaholics' tastes in mind, we have listed different genres.

Young Adult :

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Eleanor is a misfit with a dysfunctional family. Park doesn't quite fit in but has a warm, loving home life. One day the odd girl sits next to the comic book fan on the bus and slowly and sweetly they fall in love. The heart-warming story of two star-crossed teenagers, trying desperately to experience the sensuality of first love, though knowing it almost never lasts..

Romance:

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

Nicholas Sparks' first published novel starts with an old man, reading story to an old woman who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. The story is about a guy named Noah Calhoun and his love Allie, who meet and fall in love passionately during a summer vacation. Their difference in class forces them to draw apart but they reconciles again when Allie discovers Noah's photo with their once dream-house just before her wedding and comes back to the coastal town. Noah doesn't want to lose his love for the second time, after living 14 years with nothing but her memories. With her impending marriage only weeks away, Allie is forced to confront her hopes and dreams for the future, a future that only she can shape.

Historical:

The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton

Set in the 1860s on the goldfields of New Zealand, The Luminaries is a fantastic read.

It's a literary detective story with hidden treasure and a hint of the supernatural. If historical fiction is not your favourite genre, I think this will surprise. The world Eleanor Catton creates is so remarkably convincing and meticulously researched, and the story so compelling that you will be hooked. A deserving Booker Prize winner and a perfect summer holiday read.

Classics:

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Set in England in the early 19th century, Pride and Prejudice tells the story of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet's five unmarried daughters after the rich and eligible Mr. Bingley and his status-conscious friend, the even richer and eligible Mr. Darcy, have moved into their neighbourhood. While Bingley takes an immediate liking to the eldest Bennet daughter, Jane, Darcy is disdainful of local society and repeatedly clashes with the Bennets' lively second daughter, Elizabeth.

Jane Austen's witty comedy of manners retains a fascination for modern readers, continuing near the top of lists of "most loved books" of all time.

Fantasy:

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

In a time when Shadow-hunters are barely winning the fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the course of history forever. Welcome to the Infernal Devices trilogy, a stunning and dangerous prequel to the New York Times best-selling Mortal Instruments series.

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London's dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadow-hunters"including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them..

Thriller:

The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith

J.K. Rowling's foray into crime writing is a complete success. Ex-military Cormoran Strike PI is a character as large on the page as he is in height. Strike is down to one client, and creditors are calling. He has also just broken up with his long-time girlfriend and is living in his office. Now, he is offered a new case along with a tough new secretary, and gets a fame-studded boost out of his emotional mores. You may think you know detectives, but you've never met one quite like Strike. You may think you know about the wealthy and famous, but you have never seen them under an investigation like this.

Comedy:

Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding

Bridget Jones, a thirty-something single working woman living in London, not only obsesses about her love life, but also details her various daily struggles with her weight, her over-indulgence in alcohol and cigarettes, and her career. The diary starts on January 1 with an intimidating number of resolutions and ends on the following New Year's Eve. This book reads so much like a real personal journal that, at times, it is almost like an invasion of privacy. All of Bridget's insecurities and strengths, mistakes and good choices, joys and sorrows are written in the same abbreviated style.

^ Eleanor and Park is by Rainbow Rowell, not John Green. And hasn't it been covered before? I haven't checked though, just this vague suspicion...
