@Titli:

Nope. It's by Kate McCarty. KC Lynn wrote Man of Honor series.😛

@Angela:
We can include any book genre a book of the month! Let's try to pick different genre for each edition! 😉

Okay. I guess since the last newsletter featured a romance novel, can we go for something different this time?

Maybe a thriller or classics? Can we choose a series?

I have these in mind.

For a good thriller - The Da Vinci Code

Sci-fi - The Time Machine or maybe 1984

Classics - Persuasion by Austen but it is again romance

Series - the Divergent series or maybe Lunar Chronicles?

The Sudden Appearance of Hope by Claire North is also a good book though I am not sure about the genre.

While selecting Book Of The Month can I include books which have been made into movies?
@Angy, even I was thinking about going for book that doesn't belong to Romance.

So I've like rounded 3 books, here they are:

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

An ingenious code hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci. A desperate race through the cathedrals and castles of Europe. An astonishing truth concealed for centuries . . . unveiled at last.

While in Paris, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is awakened by a phone call in the dead of the night. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, his body covered in baffling symbols. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist Sophie Neveu sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci"clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.

Even more startling, the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion"a secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci"and he guarded a breathtaking historical secret. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle"while avoiding the faceless adversary who shadows their every move"the explosive, ancient truth will be lost forever.

My Sisters Keeper by Jodi Picoult

Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate -- a life and a role that she has never challenged... until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister"and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable, a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves.

A provocative novel that raises some important ethical issues, My Sister's Keeper is the story of one family's struggle for survival at all human costs and a stunning parable for all time.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Paulo Coelho's enchanting novel has inspired a devoted following around the world. This story, dazzling in its powerful simplicity and inspiring wisdom, is about an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago who travels from his homeland in Spain to the Egyptian desert in search of a treasure buried in the Pyramids. Along the way he meets a Gypsy woman, a man who calls himself king, and an alchemist, all of whom point Santiago in the direction of his quest. No one knows what the treasure is, or if Santiago will be able to surmount the obstacles along the way. But what starts out as a journey to find worldly goods turns into a discovery of the treasure found within. Lush, evocative, and deeply humane, the story of Santiago is an eternal testament to the transforming power of our dreams and the importance of listening to our hearts.
