hellp!

hey can you help me with somethingg?? i have this math book project thing i have to do...and its bout linear equations...

can you solve
y= -2x + 11
y= 2x + 5

using the graphing....substitution...and elimination methods??
when i did the graphing method...i didnt' get it..cuase there was no point where the lines met...
when i used to substituion method...i got (-1,3) but when i plugged it back in to double check....it didn't go in with the first equation but it went in with the second equation...
and when i did elimination..
i got (5/2, 16)...but when i plugged it back in to double check...it didnt' go in with either!!! ahh helpp mee pleasee! thanks!

hey..lol..i used the method of substitution 2 solve dis..it worked out for me..here goz

so 1) y= -2x+11
2) y= 2x+5
so i substituted # 2 in # 1

so.. 2x+5=-2x+11
2x+2x= 11-5
4x=6
4x/4=6 /4
x= 1.5
den i subsituted x to find y( u can use either equation 2 find y)
i chose # 2

y= 2(1.5)+5
y=3+5
y=8

therefore de point of intersection for the lines wid equations y=-2x+11 nd y=2x+5 is (1.5,8)
