I would really wish that instead of temporarily banning ALL the posts by a particular member why don't you ban JUST the offensive/rule breaking posts. I'm saying so because there are members who write so well on this forum...poems, FF's etc., all the creative work of theirs get erased in a moment and this is heartening to see. There are works which should be accessible to new members also but as they have joined recently most of the posts of these writers are banned and hence cannot be viewed.

The posts in FF/Videomix Corner/Avatar n Siggy Corner (sections suggested by daffodils.dudu) can be left untouched and posts in other sections can be banned.

-2-
There is a mad rush on this forum to post comments even if people end up posting non-sense most of the times.
If you want to create different levels you can do that by seniority level or by some other way. The day I became a member of this forum I found this weird that the number of comments I'll post will be counted LOL

I've seen fans writing one word and then leaving the post as it is or just writing "nice/lovely/beautiful update" on the FF's , as if by liking the update they are not conveying the same message.

What I personally feel is that if the number of posts are not counted then people will post only the relevant comment, we'll have something good/literary/critical to read and not just flip over the pages with nothing relevant to read.

Everyone will post only if they have something new to add to the ongoing discussion and there will be less repetitions.

Levels can be created among members, that's not a problem because this facilitates us to know who is the Moderator, Viewbie,Coolbie etc. etc.

-3-
There should be a 'Select all' tab for sending PM's. This system of sending only 20 PM's at a time is very time consuming and irritating.

-4-
As mentioned above, a system to do away with our Outbox messages.

Thanks.

I see many here have problem with inactive members of the Dev team, how about a Hyperactive one? So much that the other two in the team mostly remained inactive. I hope my post isn't taken personally but i have to say this. As a fan of the show it was really discouraging & frustrating to have a newly appointed viewbie in our forum whose activity contributed less to the growth of the forum & more towards its decline, who tried & tested all the special features she was credited with on the very first day sans the real need. Everyday we saw a special note from the viewbie included in the topic name. Every morning when i visited the forum, i was welcomed by numerous 'locked topics'. Everyday after the show when members were more active discussing the show, our viewbie kept actively merging topics. So one person's so called 'job' made the buzzing forum silent. Is this in any way what the "Development" team is supposed to do?
I-F wasnt this way when i joined it..i got addicted within no time..i hadnt come across any Mods as such & it was such a nice friendly & fun place to be..but lately it got soo frustrating due to the unique kind of moderating that i came across.

We even discussed the issues with the Dev team a several times but in vain.
They are given powers but do they own the forum? They kept complaining about 'forum space'(heard about it in KMH2 forum only) which btw was also being used by the Dev team for some no important topics in my view. I thought India-Forums was a free forum. Why were we members made to feel helpless? It felt like we were invaded by the outsiders who ruled over us. If rules are made by I-F, rules should be followed by everyone without discrimination.

RULES being followed like rituals by the Dev team? / Carelessness by the Dev team.
~Similar topics are not allowed: What kind of similar topics?
Two topics made on a scene/thing are merged. Why? Cant a scene have different dimensions? Cant different topics be made on a single scene/thing?
~Comparison topics/polls are against I-F rules: Again what kind of comparison/poll topics?
A fun topic discussing different 'duo's in the same show(other than the lead couple) that was contributing to a positive activity in the forum is closed with a note. Why? In no way would the topic lead to fights.
~Use of Help Desk: A post talking about a certain situation in the show asking help from members on the same was closed with the note 'use help desk'.
~Pictures to be posted in the picture gallery only: But what about a picture or pictures that can be used in a healthy discussion?
A topic opened for discussion where a picture is posted is shown the way to the 'picture gallery' & 'FB updates'.
~Introduce yourselves here: Newbies unaware of this rule open topics to introduce themselves. But is it welcoming them when their topic is closed showing them the way to an isolated thread 'introduce yourselves here'?
~No abusing/follow IF-code of conduct: A gray character in the show is called 'kamina' in the show itself & the members discuss about it in the forum are given warning. Now cant we discuss it if its in the dialogue? Wouldn't the word be censored on TV if it was inappropriate?

Misuse of powers / Violation of Rules by the Dev team?
~Spamming is not allowed: What kind of spamming?
A friend of mine comes to the forum in the morning to participate in the discussions, sees the forum dead so decides to move it. She sees no topics in the forum about the last episode that she has in mind, hence posts them one after the other(obviously with an interval after each as writing a topic takes time & on different subjects). Two of those topics are merged despite being different & then She is sent a warning through PM that next time she is found spamming the forum, she would be blocked & that others should also be given chance to open topics.
(12 hours had passed after the last episode had ended & we the members are expected to wait for the others to post the topic that we had thought of? How long? till the next episode begins?)
~Plagiarism: Two ppl open similar topics(as per the definition of similar described above) almost at the same time, so their topics are merged in a way that the title of the first one is retained & the post from the second one is pasted under the title..aint that equivalent to plagiarism? (is such an action really necessary here?)
~A member makes a humorous depiction on a certain scene with different titles after some episodes using his own set of emoticons & his posts are merged with the note that all emoticons are to be posted in the same thread & updated when new posts are made, while another person is allowed to open different threads every time she has got to share a poem. Why should a members post be restricted to a single thread even though they are based on different scenes from different episodes? Just because the 'emoticons' are common?
~Similar topics & topics leading to fights: There is already an active discussion thread existing in the forum & our viewbie invites an old group who had left the forum after dissing the show & its actors. Now when they are invited, can we expect peace? This invitation invites trouble again. They left after insulting the show again.
(I have a request to make here. The threads in which these ppl have insulted the show & its actors have been saved as important links in the forum. Does the Dev team even know what are in those threads? On what basis are they considered as important links? As an ardent KMH fan i cannot bear to see that. Can they be removed from there please?)
~One member from the Dev team puts up a 'WARNING' thread in the forum. No big reason for this warning but for 'spamming' & using 'help desk'. What spamming? Four different ppl including the newbies post the same article unaware of the other who has posted it is considered spamming. So is the warning for newbies asking for help in the forum instead of using help desk. Now they certainly are not the same ppl repeating it. Is it right to scare away the new members with such 'Warnings'?
This warning is up for some time & the next week another Dev team member comes up with a similar 'WARNING' post with few more points included. Again, what happens to the 'similar topic' rule here now? When asked, we are told that the earlier 'Warning' dint have all the points hence the new one. A member further asks that the earlier 'Warning' post could be updated instead & the reply goes that the members wouldn't check if the old thread is updated. Where does this reasoning go when it comes to members' posts? Other threads & posts are soo unimportant that no matter what it is members are restricted to certain posts in certain threads only no matter how old it is?
& What is the solution for all the blunders that the Dev team has done? Dont they need warning too?
~There is a maha episode promo thread in the sticky. On the day of this maha episode a fan all excited opens a countdown thread & more members join in but this thread is merged with the promo thread throwing me to the home page wen i posted. Thats not the issue but why unnecessarily keep merging topics? Why cant the Dev team see the activity in the forum? Why try to control the members as if they are kids. Most of us have been on I-F for long & know The rules. But it would be hard for me to follow some exclusive rules made by a certain Dev team.
~I make a topic on the title of the show & Ekta(I & the members are all praises for her). The topic is closed. I ask one of them the reason & its opened again. Next day i find it closed back again(Come on one cannot blindly keep closing topics every time). This time i ask the same person who did & she gives me reasons like it has Ekta in it hence might lead to fights. I ask for a logical reasoning & the person gets offended, opens the topic & tells me that i would be responsible if the topic leads to fight. How?!!
~Telly Buzz gives the news of the show going off air. The members are all panicky & definitely hurt at the channel's decision. What can one expect from fans at this situation? They are furious at the channel hence bashing(keeping the IF-COC in mind though) & there comes a warning from this Dev team with the note that bashing the channel might hurt the sentiments of other members. Huh?!! Who other members?!! Who is more a fan of Imagine TV than KMH? & What about our sentiments?!!

I'd consider all the above actions taken by the Dev team immature, the reasoning stupid & if certain actions are taken in haste then you are surely not contributing to the development of the forum.

What is i-f supposed to be? Aint the rules made for the betterment of the forum & to make the forum a better place for the members?
The rules definitely need to be reviewed & taught to the Dev team before they impose it on the members. & yes these rules need to be common to all forums in I-F & so should be the treatment towards it by the different Dev teams.

Lastly, I understand the job of the Dev team but i also expect that these ppl who are promoted are more mature, sensible & understanding. Hope I-F becomes as welcoming & friendly as it used to be.

Thank You.

P.S:I can give the links to all those threads I have mentioned above but the 'Search option' is useless.
P.S1:What is the funda after the 'forum space' that our Mods kept crying for?!! The #1 forum at I-F has lot of space using up & we are restricted to 2-3 pages a day?!!😕

^^ agree with shibz on all points mentioned. We were told not to use words like kamina , and even the letters 'CV' in the title of the thread because they felt mentioning CV will lead to fights, I see so many threads in other forums that use such words and even worse words in the thread names. and directing a thread to CV directly is not anything that will create fights. why will it? just because it did in some other forum does not mean it will in KMH forum. Besides there is no such rule in COC that the word 'CV' should not be used.

One of my friends analytical post about a song was dissected and posted in media gallery without letting her know, because the mod thot since it has a song in it it shld be in media gallery and thot that the topic maker is comparing the bollywood actors to the actors in the show and that it might lead to fights 🤓. we had to create a thread to ask all these questions and we are told that we should use PM service for such things and that why we are advocating for the friend and why she was not herself asking. We are forum members we have every right to ask. and when mods can directly give warning notes and objecting notes in the threads why cannot members raise questions against their actions in the forum and why we should use PMs for that.
About PMs we dont get replies either, so what is the point in using PM service here?
about similar topics , I really dont understand why the topics are merged when clearly the purpose of the threads are completely different, like the promo and count down topic, I mean who does that? and even after asking it is not changed, it just made the members more angry.
most of us were not happy with the kind of moderating we got. even the poll made on characters was closed saying polls on actors shld not be made, it was not on actors it was on characters. and we are asked to use regular question post instead of polls, why, the topic maker might find it easy to create a poll than giving a post with many questions.
even I have mentioned this on pg 18 and also quoting shibz "(I have a request to make here. The threads in which these ppl have insulted the show & its actors have been saved as important links in the forum. Does the Dev team even know what are in those threads? On what basis are they considered as important links? As an ardent KMH fan i cannot bear to see that. Can they be removed from there please?)"
I ask the same question on what basis are they decided to be important links? and why the list of some names under the tag buddies who have not even visited the forum ? why their names are in the imp links post? I too request them to be removed and this is request on behalf of all loyal KMH fans.

There should be a way more transparent method of selecting the Dev Teams. So many horror stories of Dev Teams misusing their so called powers or giving unfair warnings to members or random members being promoted to the Dev teams of forums they have never participated in. Not a sign of a well run place. There should be some sort of minimum age to being on the dev team...14 - 18 year olds running amock letting their 2 mins of fame get to their heads!
Members should be allowed to delete their own accounts. Never heard of any other site where a moderator has to be messaged for that!
Lastly the rankings...they are suspect at best.

Agree with this suggestion...Members should have the independence to delete their own account...Rankings...either they need to be more transparent ,or better still , just end the celeb/show ranking system...
