The glorious moment when the world started to see India and it's culture with more respect. With one speech in Chicago he destroyed the picture painted by British about India as the land of savages. His knowledge about India and it's complex diversity and culture was so great. He completed two journeys of the whole subcontinent from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Great man!! Purushottama!!

Exactly!!

He had put India at a pedestal which wasn’t known by the world then

And everyone knew that he belonged to India

He is really an enigma of a man

The more I read about him, the more he fascinates me every time

Every person who has come in contact with him has experienced a tremendous change in his/her vision, reflection towards life

The Bengali people are now called anglophile and considered slaves of English today but people forgot that the Bengalis were the most hated enemies and biggest opponent of the English rule in India as Bengal was termed as the problem land of colony of India. As Bengal was always in revolt due to one thing or another. Bengali's did everything to harass and oppose the British and never gave them piece while they were ruling India. Bengali intelligentsia and revolutionaries gave the brits a run for their money. The Bengali blood was spilled most in fight for freedom and foremost Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The man who literally forced the British to leave India.

Bengalis have always been looked upon like that

Because we had always been ahead of our time

Be it culture, literature, thinking or anything for that matter

The first female doctor was from bengal and Gujarat

The first Indian to receive Nobel prize is from Bengal

The place which has more exposure to literature will always be the first to raise voice in case of any oppression or anything of that sort

The elections this time proved it as well

Apart from that when any revolt starts, it’s always the writers who are made prisoners and are banished from the country, because they are the ones who have the capability to enlighten the public.

But one thing which I hear people call is ‘lazy’ specifically for people residing in West Bengal which I do have a objection but can’t help much with it

Exactly!! Funny how Bengali's are called lazy!! lol!! If Bengali's were lazy this country would still be a British colony!! The Brits hated the Bengalis and Marathas to the guts!! These two races proved major obstacle for the Brits and always caused revolts and problems!! Marathas literally made Brits bloody to their aim to conquer India and Bengali's crippled them to the point that they decided that better leave India alone. I remember one incident where the Bengal Famine of 1943 was planned and approved by Winston Churchill to exterminate the Bengali race completely as he understood it is impossible to subdue the Bengalis and the situation in Bengal is going out of hand.
