Episode 149 Wednesday 2/1/08

Recap from yesterday. Thyagu on the phone with SSE - SSE
acts as if the signal is not good and moves out to do an asth-
matic breath exercise. Thyagu informs that Kannu is safe
and soundwith him. " settle the accounts for my friends, the
3 brothers and Kannu will be back. Gereham, eppo parthalum
moosu moosu nnu azhuthu, (aiyoo, Thyagu, antha kodumaiyai
yen kekkaringa?? we have been watching this for more than
6 months now,, romba kodumai!! I can understand your
frustration!!) muthalle settle my friend's account, I will come
to mine later, what say?" Megs draws Sezhi aside and tells
him that they better meet those 3 brothers and settle the
issue. Sezhi wants mom to be informed but Megs negates
" aama innum konjam glycerin selavu, vendam, let us save
that money for the producer" - both leave.

Megs takes the auditor along and meet the brothers. Only
2 are there - they welcome the trio - " vaanga, nallanews oda
thane varinga? our money is ready?" Megs wants to have full
quorum for the meeting and asks about the 3rd bro. She is told
that he is running to the hospital for treating his wife who was
beaten by him - " unga kitte money kuduthu yemanthu pona
thale fight between the couple, paavam my bro" Megs for once
comes straight to the point " looks like u guys took the issue to
Thyagu, the dada and he has kidnapped my sister. Please,
ask him to release her, we shall discuss money later". the
brothers blow their fuse " all of us are employed in decent
places. We do not know any dada. Now that u are not able to
pay us back, u are trying to get us in to trouble with such
drama?? If u don't settle our money soon, we will lodge a
police complaint against you". Megs scoots with her entourage,
auditor talks to his AC friend and gets appointment. As the
trio leave, the brothers inform Thyagu about every thing.
Thyagu advises them to continue the same game.

Danda's house - bhootham is still in the same dress. Mom
consoles him and bring tea. Tams chips in her 2 cents "aama
his pain will not ease with tea, daddy, u should have dropped
him at some wine shop on the way, with some sarakku, he
would be fine!!" - Bhootham flares up saying that this marriage
has ruined his life and dad accepts that. He goes on to say that
he will set things right and get a new life for bhootham. Tams
gives instructions to mommy on Kozhi curry and in between
asserts that Kannu chapter is over. Mom extends an olive
branch which is thrown to the dust. Unanimous decision of
throwing Kannu away is taken, Amutha, Angu and Sara look
helpless.

Police station - Megs arrives with AC. AC confronts Inspector
about Kannu case. Inspi says that it is some family issue and
the groom's side have complained that Kannu ran away with
some one. Megs brings in Thyagu's name but Inspi is not willing
to rope him in. AC wants to raid Thyagu's house and asks the
inspi to follow. Inspi steals a few mins and informs Thyagu
( He is in Thyagu's pay roll!!) - Thyagu holds the mobile....

Thursday Episode 150 - 3/1/08

Recap - Inspector Karthik talking to Thyagu.
Thyagu makes arrangements to hide Kannu. He goes
with his henchmen to Kannu's room - one fellow has
a bright idea of killing her - Kannu frets and begs.
Thyagu slaps the fellow and says that killing
is not easy - " we must have a solid reason to kill,
got it??" - asks his people to pack Kannu.

AC arrives with his cronies, confronts Thyagu.
Asks if he has kidnapped Kannu, sis of Megs. Thyagu
feigns total ignorance, denies that he does not know
who Megs is. " Yethanum problem nna oor le ellarum
go to a public booth and imitate my voice. How can
I be held responsible for every thing?? I can understand
your questioning me if I had done some thing but
this..." Megs does her saucer act - tells AC that
Thyagu came to her work site and threatened her
and Thyagu categorically denies. Megs gets a bright
idea of calling those 3 bros. Inspector asks them to
come to Thyagu's place and they ask for the address.
Thyagu has a smile.. Insp. passes the phone to Thyagu -
he gives the address and says there are 2 police jeeps
outside "athaan land mark" - they get the point.

While all this is happening we see Kannu inside the
over head tank - Motor is running and water is filling -
pretty fast!! Hands tied behind, gagged mouth..
she has no way of escaping.

The 3 bro arrive, deny totally about any connection
with Thyagu ( this guy is a cool cat, like the way
he acts!!) " we are middle class people who work
for a living from morning till evening. On Sundays we are
busy with household chores, we have not time for dadas"
They are dismissed after the police take down their
details.

Police leave after AC makes a threat -"the moment u
know about Kannu, inform us, ok?? or else..." Of course
Thyagu has the last laugh. After they leave, Thyagu
orders that Kannu be brought out of the tank. Megs and
Sezhi are back on their bike -discussing how cool this
Thyagu is and how he denied everything. An auto follows -
u guessed it right - Thyagu's henchmen follow the siblings
- deal with them with uruttu kattais. Sezhi receives a fair
share and faints, Megs is awake in spite of the hitting...
Sezhi's mobile rings.. Thyagu at the other end " police
kootti vantha na bayanthuduvena?? yes, I still have yr
sister..." Megs now deems it fit to expose her side plates...

4/1/08 Friday Episode 151

Recap - Thyagu on phone with Megs. " You know nothing about me.
If u bring the police, do u think you can catch me? Look at what happened to your bro?? Yes, Kannu is with me only. Now, if i want I can kidnap your Kirtana also and bring her to my custody. Just do what I said and save your family". Megs cries ( summa saucer act is enough, glycerin has to be spent) Shouts out for help and cries "Sezhiya Sezhiya" - calls Kirtana to find out about her safety.
Kirtana confirms that she is safe but is being followed by some people from the morning. Megs asks her to get back home asap, cuts the mobile and continues calling out bro's name. Finally an auto arrives and Sezhi is shifted to the hospital. Kirtana walks and 4 guys follow her closely. Kirtana hurries and two of her friends arrive in a two wheeler. Kirtana tells her every thing and the friend wants to know about Megs calling : Inge ipdi nadakkum nnu unga akkak kku epdi threiryum?
( athu than ippo romba mukkiyam, muthalle intha God forsaken place
le irunthu escape panra vazhi yai paarungamma!!) Finally that friend offers to drop Kirtana. As they speed, the 4 guys follow them.

Sezhi and Megs in an auto. Blood oozing out in both the faces - Megs hurries the auto fellow. reach the hospital. Megs does the usual stretcher pushing act and calls out Sezhiya Sezhiya. Nurse as usual pushes Megs out "'veliye irunga nnu solren illai". Doctors close the door, auto fellow consoles - Megs finds a Pillaiyar and prays. Nurse comes and asks Megs to pay money. Megs cries but nurse says that they have to do their duty. Megs cries and says that he is the only 'ambalai pullai " of the house and he should be fine. Nurse asks for Sezhi's blood group. Megs has no clue and nurse chides her " sister nnu solringa, blood group kooda theriyaatha??" - asks some one to do the blood group. Auto fellow takes leave
( nice fellow, very compassionate) - Megs calls Anitha and asks her to inform Tilaga. Also asks for some money. Anitha promises to give the money to Tilaga and send her to the hospital. (which hospital?? Anitha does not ask and Megs does not say!!). As Megs puts the phone down, a lady cries out loud. Her son is dead - some one stabbed her son for some dispute. The passerby asks " yaar ma?? aalai pidichacha?" The lady replies" yes, but he got out in 2 days. I believe he is Thyagu's man..." Megs freaks out. Mental flash back of athai screaming..... " So may be I am the reason for all this??? my coming back in to the family is a curse??" ( good thinking megs, now u can do one more vanishing act - like how u did when u hit your athai - at least then u were a kid!! - ippo u run away, that will be great!!! Buthi nnu onnu illaive illiya unalkku!!)

Kirtana on the scooter, guys following. Thatha packing his things to go back to village to finalise the sale. Tilaga feels bad about dad selling all his left over properties. But dad assures that what he has must be used by her and his grandkids. Tilags feels better. Kirtana arrives home and the guys turn back. Ignores the leaving thatha - thatha leaves. Kirtana calls out to Megs. Tilaga says that Megs is not home. Kirtana tells mom that some one followed her from the morning and Megs called to warn her.. athai arrives and wants to know the details... Kirtana hides but athai has heard a few words... Anitha arrives with the news of Megs and Sezhi. " Sezhi is beaten and is in hospital..." Tilaga gets her saucers out.. all are upset.....

Episode no 152 - Monday 7/ 1/ 08

Recap from Friday. Anitha frets and tells about Sezhiyan.
Athai is furious. Blames Megala for every thing. "She
does things as if she knows the business like the back
of her hands and now, look where we are??!!If any thing
happens to my nephew, Sezhi, the only aambalai pullai
of my brother, I will show you who I am!!" Beats
Anitha, the news bearer as if she was the one who beat
up Sezhi. Anitha manages to push them all out of the
house - to go to the hospital.

Nut is pensive - calling back all athai's statements -
Diwa enters and calls out to her - Nut is deaf. Durga
( Diwa's mom) tells him that she has been like this
from the time she came back from her parental home.
" she did not eat anything. I made some juice and gave
her, look it is sitting on the table, untouched" - Of course
Nut can not understand the difference between concern
and chiding - goes and tries to drink the juice but Diwa
stops her. " Kudikkalainna yr mother scolds, and if I
drink, u stop it, so what do i do now?"(For starters,
try being reasonable for a change and try not
to jump at people with out rhyme or reason, what say??)
Diwa tells her that he stopped her from drinking as
the juice was infested with flies. Durga finds out that
Athai gave them both a mouthful and tells Diwa that
he should avoid going to Tilaga's place with Nut." You
both always come back upset and it is not good for a
pregnant woman to be crying and being unhappy
all the time". Nut as usual can not appreciate the
concern and goes on tangent" u want me to severe all
my connections with my parents, thats all, eh??" Durga
has had enough - " let me also be like other MILs. I try
to be nice but, u do not deserve that. Diwa, no more
visits to that place.. period" - goes out and Nut deems
it fit to scold Diwa " now u know yr mom's true
intentions?? thanks for keeping quiet when yr mom
scolded(???!!!) me" - moves out leaving a stunned Diwa.

Megs in hospital doing "vik vik" s at regular intervals.
Doctor comes out with Sezhi on a stretcher - gives a list
of medicines to be bought. Wants to know how this
happened - Megs is beating around the bush ( thambi
beating porathaa? nee vera ya??) Thyagu calls her in
the mobile as she is rushing to the pharmacy. Talks to
her as if he is standing by her side" suthi pakkariye?
na enge irukken nnu theiriyalaiya? sari vidu, enna
Thambi epdi irukkan? periya list of medicines?? oh,
yes because our boys beat him up big time, right?" -
Megs cries and asks " nanga unakku enna da panninom?"
Thyagu is fed up " all women are like this. throw empty
challenges as if they are the reincarnation of Jhansi ranis
and start crying at the first blow!! any ways do not go to
the police,ok?" As he is talking to her Tilaga and co
arrive.First they want to know to whom she is talking.
( athu than romba mukkiyam, Sezhiyan epdi ponaa
enna??) Thyagu hears this and tells Megs to attend
to her family " we can talk about it later" - Megs is still
vik vik ing!! A fellow with a checked shirt crosses the
family as Thyagu picks another phone and says ' later
buddy" - yup, he was the one who fed info on Megs'
movements. Athai and Tilaga now ask about Sezhi -
Megs says as they were coming, some people beat
up Sezhi - athai has the common sense to ask
"athu epdi?? summa adippanaa yaranum?" but
adjourn to look up Sezhi.

Thyagu at home. Kannu opens her saucers slowly.
One of Thyagu's men spells out the bright idea of
beating up the whole family and get the whole resort
site transfered to Thyagu. Thyagu slaps him and looks
pretty peeved. Kannu hears this and stops Thyagu
when he crosses her room " Sir, ennai vittudunga. Enge
veetle ore problem. Epdiyaavathu we will pay those 3
people. People are cursing my dad for running away.
That is why my sis is taking up to set right. Pls do not
ask for the whole site. Think of me as your sister"
( seriously ,this girl must be nuts to talk like this!!!
asking for mercy in a butcher's shop!!) Thyagu asks his
cronies about his looks " enna da ennai patha nallavan
mathiri theriyutha?" All nod their heads in negation.
Happy with the inference Thyagu tells Kannu that a
munda baniyan, kerchief around the neck and a big
mole on the chin is not the samudrika lakshanam of
a villain. " I am the " mother of all villains" - asks
Kannu to shut up and goes to have food. Kannu
stares from behind the bars ( the window bars ppa!!)

Episode 153 Tuesday 8/1/08
Kannu on the run.. the great escape??!!

Danda's house. Kitchen - Angu is making dosas,
Sara asks her about Kannu " did u ask Tilaga
about Kannu?" Angu feels bad - '" how can I ask
them?? The way we have complained... is atrocious".
Amutha and Sara goad Angu to talk to Danda and
try to get back things to normal. Angu talks to Danda.
Both are discussing Bhootham. Danda says that bhootham's
life is spoiled because of the marriage. Angu asks
about bringing back Kannu. Danda also wants to set
right things - Angu is happy and says that hubby is a
nice man. "Let us talk to sambhandhis and unite Kannu
with bhootham" - Danda shows his true colors. " Oh I want
kannu to come back so that I can get a divorce for
bhootham and get him remarried. How dare they complain
about my son?" Angu reasons out - " we have a Tams and
they have a Vadivu.. paavam Tilaga.." but Danda could
not care less " I can worry only about my son, poi un
velaiyai paaru" - Angu is upset.

Hospital - Sezhi is in bed - Tilaga, Kirtana, Megs and athai
- at last Tilaga looks concerned (Vinu just for u!!) Athai is
back to her reasoning - " how can someone just beat without
any reason??" Kirtana tries to defend Megs but athai is on
to further grilling " enna yethanum love affair aa?" Kirtana
is angry but athai is reasoning personified " Unga ellarukkum
ithu puthusaa? Megs kootti poi kalyaanam panni vaichittalaa??
athan ipdi yaa? unga amma valappu apdi" Megs has no
explanations - nurse enters. " only one to stay the night,
all else leave" - Megs offers to stay the night with him but
athai has no trust. Megs starts her vik viks - Sezhi is delirious..
" adikkatheenga, Kannu vai vittudunga...." Megs does side
plates act ( she is more worried about Sezhi spilling the beans
than his health - between spreading the side plates out and
vik viks, she is a sight to watch!!!) Athai wants Tilaga to
find out the truth from Megs. An obliging Tilaga asks
" enakku pada pada nnu irukku.. enna di aachu?" Megs
yaaru?? athai kku niece, Nut kku akka vaache...
" as we were coming back in the bike,
he was talking about Kannu.. athan athe ularal.."
Athai stays and the saucers are packed back to their
sockets ... and leave.

Kannu doing jail act .. counting kambis - 10 kkulle no onnu sollu, jannalile irukkannu solven - 4 DSTR s (Danda Sotru Thadi
Raman) are playing cards outside her room.Kannu asks for
water, 1 fellow gives her a jug and conveniently forgets to
lock the door. He sees the other fellow meddling with cards...
picks up a fight... ends in fist fights.. all are busy hitting each
other... Kannu scoots the room. The drawing room is empty,
she opens the door as if she is the lady of the house, runs to
the locked gate.... scales the wall ... jumps and on the run!!!
DSTR s settle their card issue and find that Kannu is on the
run. All run in different directions... Thyagu slaps a guy and says
" come back with Kannu.. or else u will have no Kannu..."
all run.. Thyagu is upset... ( surprisingly none of them think
about the car which is parked in the portico!!)

Episode 154 Wednesday 9/1/08

Kannu is running in the dark - 2 DSTR s run behind.
They see her and say the proverbial "yey odathey,
nillu"!!! (oh yes, she scaled the wall, jumped out
of the compound and started running on bare feet
only to stop running the moment she hears your
command??!!) Running and not catching game is on...
Kannu hides behind a tree, closes her mouth (intha asthma
breath will play Ettappan!!) and DSTRs are at a loss!!
They run elsewhere and Kannu comes out of hiding.
She runs some more and ends up in an auto stand.
There is an auto, driver is asleep, wakes him up and
the driver has all the time in the world to ask for
explanations!!! And of course Kannu is dying to share
her "kidnap" experience and deems it fit to narrate.
After a brief summary ( meethiyai auto le pogum pothu
solren anne ) asks him to take her home " evvalavu
vena panam tharen anne". Auto driver is not happy
with the info given, wants to know her kidnapper and
Kannu is only too ready to oblige - "Thyagu" - " auto
driver opens his mouth (ada athan ppa vaiayi polakkirathu
illai, athu!!) and Kannu urges him to start the auto. He starts
and draws the khaki curtains on both the sides. DSTR s
are still running... auto stops on the side of the road....
Kannu looks out... bingo.. Thyagu with a stern look
staring at her.. with just a towel around his neck... Kannu's
saucers are stunned (pinne auto driver kitte "kidnap
puranam" paadinaa?? auto kkaran Thyagu aala irukkalam
nnu thonaliya unakku?? Thyagu area vai ye thandalai
nee, apram??!!) Auto driver gives a smart salute to Thyagu
and drags Kannu in. Kannu does the usual " please ennai
vidunga, ennai vittudunga" in vain. Now it is the driver's
turn to sing "capturing padalam" - ( anne anne Thyagu
anne, intha ponnu odi pochaa anne? nan athai pidichutten
anne, inge kondu vaanthu kuduthutten anne ye ye anne
anne, Thyagu anne...) Thyagu was the one to buy the
auto for him and so he showed his gratitude this
way!!! Kannu holds her heart in her hands (literally!!) and
watches the exchange of vote of thanks. Auto driver is
dismissed with a promise of "some thing" the next morning.
The fellow is so sweet that he parts with a "varen thangachi'!!!
DSTR s are running in from opposite sides - all the four -
Thyagu welcomes the "vallala gandans???" ( can any body
say what that word means??) Kannu does serious asthma
breaths... Thyagu advances menacingly... goes and hits....
. the DSTRs.... each gets one hit and goes to line up...
Kannu, maid, DSTRs 1, 2, 3..4.....now comes the surprise..
Thyagu appreciates Kannu for running away " she did her
duty but what about u guys???" Well ippadiyaga thane
Kannu mani ponnu mani is back to the pavilion....

Thyagu calls Megs and threatens - " get me my money
or else..." Megs pleads for mercy but Thyagu is not
game. Megs spends some more glycerin ... Tilaga and
Kirtana catch her in the act of crying....

Megs has no option now ... has to spill the beans as Tilaga
demands to know. As usual beats around the bush, walks on
castor oil and banana skin... " I wanted to do amends for my
dad's act... wanted to do only good...ended up in a mess...."
finally narrates everything.. (appa daa Roja heaves a sigh
of relief!! this kanna moochi re re was getting on her nerves!!)
Kirtana understands the situation and Tilags deems it fit to
spend some more of producer's money " en kitte yen
munnadiye sollalai??" ( Sonna innum konjam selavu
vaichiruppene Producer kku!!) Megs confirms that all is
well with Kannu. Calls auditor Sivakumar and asks him to
fix up an appointment with AC. AC is going out station with
minister and asks Siva to contact that inspector karthik
( ahaaa, avaru Thyagu aal aache??!) Siva conveys the
msg to Megs. Megs decides to keep off Karthik as she
feels that he is Thyagu's man (good thinking!!) Tilaga now
is more worried about corrupt police!! ( athu sari, take the
saucer eyes trio and side plates to the police head quarters
and start yr crying session - thollai thangame ellarum over
night le thirunthiduvaanga!!!) Trio decide to wait until morning.

Old man Ranga in bed. Doctor checking. Tallks about Megs.
Says that he had a dream where some 60 people are seen dead
and he heard Megs crying for help. He does not want to go to
the US for treatment as he is worried that if Megs needs help,
he may not be around to help. But the dr. convinces him.
Ranga tells Devaraj to draw 50 lakhs cash and keep ready
for auditor Sivakumar ( yup, the same guy who is with
Megs!!) who is coming from Chennai. Dev is not ready
to part with that big sum but Ranga says that he owes
the money to Sivakumar. Dev leaves with PA in tow and
Ranga looks at Megs' life size photo...

Episode 155 Thursday 10/1/08

Negs and Anitha in conference. Anitha gets all the inside
info on the present situation and consoles Megs. Says that
problems have to be faced, come what may but Megs is at
a loss - "nice to hear your consoling words, but how do I
go about it?" Anitha is on a loud thinking mode - " can not
go to the police as they are corrupt... press kitte polaam
Megs, they will take up the issue, what say?" Megs
vetoes the suggestion saying that Kannu's in-laws are
a class by themselves and with all the existing "prachanais"
why add more?? " Kannu's life is gone, vendam vendam".
Anitha agrees " oh yes, I did not think about it" (pochuda
et tu, Anitha??) Megs is back to "ennathan panrathu naan?"
and closes her eyes ( some consideration my dear, side
plates ai pathu pathu nadukkathile irukku oru gumbale
inge!!) Anitha also has the same problem and so asks
Megs to stop crying. Of course Megs always has a
reason for crying ( how convenient??!!) " I only spoiled
Kannu's life - helped Nut to marry Diwa... Kannu had to
marry that ruffian... all her laughter is lost from that
day... all because of me, my guilt is killing me.. amma
was like a maharaani but now with her purushan doing
the absconding act and loosing all her wealth... crying
for Kannu... (oh do not worry about that my dear, that is
what gives your mom some pleasure... for ever crying
and evading issues) .. what athai says is right, all this
happened only after I got back to my family vu vu vu
vu vu" ..Anitha does a "pothum niruthu" (timely intervention
Anitha, u do not know how much Roja appreciates this!!)
and says that she might slap Megs is she talks such
rubbish once again. Anitha goes on to say that if they
find the money for the 3 bros and pay them up, Megs
can get those 3 houses and sell to someone else. Megs
is agreeable as well but where is the money?? Anitha
is reminded of some of her colleagues who want to buy
houses - she promises to talk to them and if they say
Ok, Megs' problem is solved!!! Megs holds on to Anitha's
hands and cries some more - only this time, she is happy
that she would be out of the woods ( ellathukkum azhutha,
enna panna??) Anitha asks about the documents and Megs
readily gives her a bunch anddd.... bingo.. rolls it in the
newspaper leaf which carries the ad from Rangarajan looking
for Megs!!!! Anitha leaves with that in hand. Of course
Megs does not know what Thyagu's plans are!! (Thyagu
wants Megs to write all the rights of the development
on to him but how can Megs do it?? The documents
must be in the name of Kalai, right?? How can she
endorse it to Thyagu?? - Rojaaaaaa Logic kekkathey
nnu unakku ethanai tharam solrathu??? nee thirunthave maatiyaaaaa?)

Megs and Tilaga - Megs narrates her conference with
Anitha. Tells Tilaga that there is some hope. Tilaga is so
used to crying that she can not change her expression
easily. Kirtana's friend comes. Wants to take Kirtana
to college but Kirt refuses. Megs takes Kirt aside and
doles out advice - " U better go and stay with your friend
for a while. That is the safest place for u as of now." Tilaga
does jalra on Megs' nudging and the friend can not stand
the suspense... butts in " enna kisu kisu ppu?"... Megs
wants that girl to host Kirt and she is only too willing.
Megs gives a broad out line about her problems to that
girl (nalla kaalam, na enna seyvennu oru cry session
start pannalai - 2 pair of saucers and a pair of side plates!!
thangathuda samy!!) goes in to pack for Kirt - the friend
is curious ( aha inge nalla vambu kidaikkum pole irukke!!)
and Kirt fills her in with more details.. " Kannu is kidnapped...
akka went to police... (kudumbame katha kalakshebam
specialists pole.. oru chinna nudge kudutha ready to sing
happily!!! but when they need to share some thing and get
to action appo mum is the word??!!!) Kirt leaves with bag
and baggage. Geetha walks in and wants to know the
latest family plans "Kirt, where to?" ( u better keep me
posted, I am the future DIL..) Kirt vik viks and Geetha
is puzzled - Megs says that Kirt is going to stay with her
friend and asks mother to come along to the hospital.
" Sezhi yai pakka polam ma" .. " avanukku sari agiduma
Megs, kaattu thanama adichi irukkangale" ....that name jolts
Geetha... " oh what happened??? (to my lover boy)??"
Megs calls it a "chinna prachnai" - adi Sezhi kuu thane -
starts to leave but Geetha wants to tag along. Megs says
no no and proceeds... Geetha stands behind crying ( intha
veetu raasi mma, basic requirement to be a part of Kalai
family is your ability to cry - the more u get your eyes
out of their sockets, the closer u get to the inner circle!!)

Thyagu with his cronies - some one begging for pardon.
Thyagu meets Kannu..." Gave me a sleepless night... if u
ever try to escape again, u are dead meat,ok?" Maid

advocate scoots. Kannu has a new security force - the
old DSTR s are begging for mercy..Thyagu angrily relents
and asks them to follow. Kannu puts the plate down and
does vik vik with inhaling - produces a funny noise! -
camera rolls around her - all angles - " ipdi mattikkittene,
kadavule. Thirumbi ponaa my darling hubby won't accept
me. parental home has so many problems...why should
I live???" - decision made..... looks around.. the green
curtains are tempting.. looks out of the window and sees
the new securities seating themselves on the stairs...
closes the windows, checks out the draws, inspects the
bath room..... sees the water tumbler.... glass... bends...
picks... goes to the bath room.. asthma at its peak...
breaks the glass... picks a piece ... inspects... well ..

Friday Episode No 156 11/1/08

Hospital. Sezhi is in bed. Megs and Tilaga help him to get
up. He moans and athai screams at both of them. Megs wants
her to keep quiet and athai has the last words" all because of
you only, u came back and all our problems have started" –
goes to fetch some water and the phone rings. Megs picks it
up and runs out. Yes, it is Thyagu and inspector Karthik is by
his side. Thyagu shouts at Megs for talking to the AC again.
" I am watching u now as well" Megs looks around rolling
her eyes and spots the checked shirt fellow ( looks like it is
either an uniform or he wants Megs to recognize him!!)–
"as much as u talk to a security in khaki dress, u are doomed.
Even now, I can kill your bro, I am watching you, Ok?
Anything u have to say just talk to me"…Megs says
" illainga .. na … athu… vanthu…" Like us Thyagu's cell
phone also has no patience for the castor oil coated banana…
loses charge!! Thyagu asks his man to charge it. On the
other end Megs runs here and there holding on to that dead
phone like a cockroach bathed in Baygon – wheezing...
vik vik ing... and side plates in full force. Athai is coming
up the stairs.

Maid goes in to see if Kannu has eaten and sees her bleeding
from the hand - calls Thyagu with the news. Thyagu is angry
and shouts at his henchmen. Tells the inspector about the new development. The inspector is extremely enterprising. " check
if she is alive, if she is get her medical attention and try to save
her" – Thyagu wants to know what if she dies?? Inspector is nonchalant " dispose her body suitably. There is already a
complaint on her hubby about ill treating the girl. I will frame
him and push him in." Thyagu is happy that his money is well
spent on this inspector. Asks his men to get Kannu some
medial help. Kannu is being carried.

Ranga and Devraj. - - the 50 lakhs has been brought and they
are to wait for the auditor. Dileepan calls from Madras and
asks for 1 lakhs for pocket money. Dewa says that he will
arrange but Dileepan says "pay now or I go back to Malaysia".
Deva is dejected and the PA comes up with an idea of going to
one of their usual money lenders. Both inform Ranga that they
have to go urgently some where and will be back here before the auditor comes. Ranga relents.

Megs is on her cockroach act – athai catches her. " Kannai
urutti kathakali aadinathu porum, poi scan report eduthundu
vaa. Eppo pathalum oru cell phone arattai vera" - ( athai, Roja
gives u a hug… u spoke her mind! Megs must have a switch
as well near her side plates – she can switch it off when some
one comes near and it comes on as soon a s they leave!!!
Computer controlled switch??!!) Megs goes to the reception
to get Sezhi's reports. Bingo… Kannu arrives on a stretcher…
and of course Megs does not see sister darling. Anitha arrives
and tells her about the "mission unaccomplished" –"No one
wants to buy the apartments with such legal issues"
( Vinu.. bingo!!) Megs cries some more ( it is ok is u did not
sell the flats Ani, u gave me a good chance to wheeze and
cry some more, u are a doll!!) Thyagu arrives and sees Megs.
Scolds his men for choosing "the" hospital for Kannu and wants
to go in with out Megs seeing. " she shouts and oorai kootufies.. finished ... she will rescue Kannu and take her away" Megs
being Megs has the uncanny knack of witnessing what needs
to be avoided!! She might have missed seeing Kannu but does
not miss Thyagu – another opportunity to get her side plates
out ( Megs : thank God, I need to use my only asset to the
fullest and He never disappoints me – Kathakali aattam
aadungal yen arumai side plates…athai thanks for that
wonderful expression, u rock!!! )

Episode 157 Thursday 17/1/08

Recap of Kannu being wheeled in to the hospital and Megs
missing her. Anitha comes hurrying calling out to Megs.
Thyagu arrives with his henchmen – Megs sees him and
deems it fit to spread the side plates served with shock and
fear. – takes the opportunity to introduce Thyagu to Anitha.

Megs goes on " he is here, na enna panna poren??" ( Roja
announces a contest – for the month of Jan – how many times
Megs said "naa enna pannuven/panna poren" – contest gets
over on 31st Jan and results will be announced by mid Feb –
shoot folks!!) Well, at last Megs uses her eyes for their
intended purpose - sees the paper in Anitha's hands and
glares at the ad with her photo for over 2 mins!! ( may be
she did not recognize her own self as the photo shows a
smiling megs!!) Anitha takes a peep as well and allows Megs
to assimilate the news – stands by her side with a Q in her
eyes. Megs being Megs needs to shed a few tears first with
vik viks interspersed - does a mini kathakali with her eyes –
Anitha can not stand the suspense any more " hey,
yr photo, yr name, what is this" . Megs says that Thyagu's
money is taken care of – poor Anitha is puzzled but Megs is
all set to meet Thyagu first - Ani offers to accompany but
Megs vetoes. Rushes to meet Thyagu. Ani stays behind
holding on to the newspaper – the lifeline of Megs.

Thyagu is on the phone - commissioner office le irukken,
call u later" (but he is in the hospital) Kannu's security guards
report with the latest development – " kaile kattu, still mayakkam"
– Thyagu asks for a room far away from the maddening
crowd – Kannu is being wheeled. Megs comes running to
Thyagu " sethi kelu sethi kelu, Thyagu ennoda sethi kelu"
but he is busy moving Kannu out of Megs' eyes. Bingo..
Kannu gets in to the room and Megs reaches her destination..
stops Thyagu sir and promises to pay the money he asked for.
" give me a day, pls do not do anything to my bro" – only then
it dawns on Thyagu that she is under the impression that he
has visited the hospital to attack Sezhi ( at last unakku
purinjithe, neeyellam enna villain???) Thyagu exchanges
a look with his dumber henchmen and smiles at Megs –
watches her begging " paavam my bro, yr men hit him so
badly, give me a day". Thyagu asks her to be happy that
her bro is alive (some consideration!!) Megs goes on
"sorry boory thanni thotti lorry. Thyagu flexes his wrist
" see my power, ok??" Megs says ' no police from now
on" ( yetho intha mattukku enakku azha chance kuduthiye
Thyagu, athukke, I am grateful, sariyaa??) Thyagu has a
basic doubt " how will u arrange the money?? If u go in
search of money, who will sit and cry by your bro's side??
Have u deputed someone??" (This one worry ..well Megs
does not have .. she has a whole load of her clan who can
step in successfully and do a great job!!) Finally he
condescends to give her a day but warns her that if she
delays, he can not vouch for the safety of her bro – Megs
leaves. Thyagu gloats.

Rangarajan's house. Auditor Sivakumar arrives. After the
initial pleasantries Ranga tells him that Devraj will be back
and they both can go back to Madras with the money. Auditor
allows his eyes to roam around the house and sees a smiling
Megs!!! Wants to know how Megs got here and Ranga for his
part shows more surprise. To cut a long story short Sivakumar
narrates the whole thing ( awww, I can also raise up to the
occasion and do a fast forward!!!) Ranga promises to fund
Megs and asks Siva to go to Madras with Devraj. He calls
Deva but Deva cuts off the mobile. Finally Ranga decides
to go with Siva to Madras.

Sezhi's room in the hospital. Megs draws aside Tilaga much
against athai's liking. Just tells her that Thyagu has come to
the hospital and threatens to kill Sezhi. Wants Sezhi to be
discharged and taken home. She tells mom that she is a
rranging funds from Bangalore - mom needs details but Megs
has no time for a katha kalakshebham now (thank God!! -
the family is only too willing to sing with a slight nudge!!!)
Allows Tilaga to fret and cry, (pinne, she has to have her share
if she is the deputy for crying by Sezhi's bed side when Megs
is away!!) convinces mom to agree to her plans and faces a
protesting athai - shouts at athai saying that money has become
an issue and Sezhi has to go home. Athai murmurs but Megs
has her way. Gives some money to mom and leaves for Banglaore
with Anitha.

Friday 18/1/08 Episode no 158

Recap Megs and Anitha leave for B'lore

Ranga and auditor - Ranga running helter-skelter for air
tickets to madras but no luck. Finally he decides to drive
to Madras and requests the auditor to accompany -
"Auditor sir, enakku oru very good idea" (idea vai sollunga,
adjectives ellam we will decide!!) car le Madras poidalam,
ok??" (oh ithuthan antha idea va??!!) Auditor wants to wait
for Deva so that they can finish that deal as well. But Ranga
is all set to see Megs " until I see her, nothing else matters.
I get some news about her, run to see but end up not seeing
her, no more such risks". Ranga requests the auditor to spare
the 50lakhs " we will give this to Megs to tide over her initial
needs, I will give u your money later, what say?" Auditor
agrees, Ranga's driver says that the car has to be serviced,
Ranga vetoes - finally they leave with 50 lakhs cash.

Ani and Megs coming from the opposite direction. Ani is all
set to confront - " How do u believe that you will get your
money there?" Megs, the skating expert who teaches
bananas to skate needs to know if Ani does not believe
her. Ani is being practical " world is all about money, not
even close relatives will help. So pray how do u expect Ranga
to dole out this exorbitant sum to u?" Megs is back to her
Katha kalakshebha mood ( all the time in the world my
dear, B'lorepora varaikkum pozhuthu poga vendamaa??) " he is
more affectionate to me than my own parents, I am the world
for him ( we are the world, we are the children..) He will give
me all his wealth for just a word from me" Ani is still not sure
but Megs assures her that Ranga will help. Ani being the
sane person( this girl actually asks some of the Qs that
surface in the minds of the viewers!! Mr.V, is this your
way of pacifying us??? u can do better!!) asks megs as to
why she did not go to him as soon as Kalai did the disappearing
act!!! Banana skating is back - ( ippo flash back lam kidaiyathu
Rojaaa summa kannai theetindu vambukku alaiyathe!!)
" the money for which I am going now as the reason that
drove me away from him. To save Kannu, I have to do this.
I saw the ad at the right time. I did not think about asking for
help from him until then. Thought that God showed the ad to
me at the right time and so, here I am". goes on and on -
( Mr.V, who is your dialogue writer??? writes pages after

irukku!! More action, less talk nnu oru phrase irukku, how

money plays havoc in our lives drove me away from Ranga,
now makes me going back to him....." ( ayyoda.. panam
panthiyile, Gunam kuppaiyile... paattu pazhasu!!)

Now it is Ranga's turn (fortunately no vik viks!!) Talking to
Sivakumar " I was penniless, My partner cheated me and took
away all my money. So, I went to Trichur to see my friend
Krishnan and ask for help ...' Aha ha ha at last the flash back
( Roja sips her coffee and watches the much awaited
Andhra - Kerala - Karnataka connection. Ayyoda first
episode le kozhappi-nathukku 158 episode le answer!!!
Director neenga romba fast!!!) Krishnan extends a luke
warm welcome to penniless Ranga. After much discussion
about unreserved compartments and train/air journey,
( what an useful info on train journey in India??!!) Krish
asks about Ranga's visit. He is busy reading the paper and
throws barbs - bulls'eye throws!! - yen unakku thayakkam,
yen unakku mayakkam , yen unakkenna aachu?? kekka
vanthathai kettu vittu edathai kaali pannu, ok?"Ranga,
" Krishnaaa, nee B'lore le..." Krishnan: " one min Rangarajan...
I know u helped me but what I am today is because of my own
efforts. Ask me, i will help, after all u are an old man and
helping the old is a ticket to heaven" ( ada da da ivaruku
ippo vayasu oru 60 than irukkum, romba young man!!)
Ranga goes on about how he was cheated by
his partner and needs 50 lakhs to resurrect himself. Says that
it is just a loan and he will return the money for sure. Krishnan
sees that money as a big amount ( at last some one agrees with
Roja!! the way the serial folk talk about lakhs and crores, gives
jitters to Roja.. always!!) and is not game. Talks as if Ranga is
in his death bed and can not repay even if he wants to " even if
u win the case against your partner and get the money back, u
need life to enjoy, athu enge irukku unakku??" ( this guy must
be the assistant of Chithraguptha!!! writes the expiry dates
for people!!) Finally Krishnan promises to get Ranga in to
an old age home where he can live peacefully for the rest
(???!!!) of his life. Ranga has had enough, thanks the teenaged
Krishnan for all his kindness and blesses him to come up in
life. Ranga leaves and while walking sees a train - gets a
bright idea - "instead of me going in an unreserved compartment
why can't an unreserved compartment go on me??" - wills
himself to stand in the railway track and elevate the status
of train to Lord Yama but bingo....yes, Megs pulls him out
of the track ... as Ranga narrates to Siva " appothan
I saw my daughter, my mother, my God for the first time...."

Freeze on yup... saucers!!( side plates are not needed for
this reaction!!)
