Hi,

I'm new to this forum and also show.😳 I only know a very dim summary of the story of Meera Bai, but I would love to learn more about her through this show. However, I don't have access to Hindi TV channels so I depend on the vid and written updates because my Hindi also is not so good.☺️ If it's not too much trouble, can someone please give me a quick summary of what happened in the show so far, who the evil characters are, good characters, etc? Plzzz? If you can PM it to me, that'd be great as well.😃

The girl playing Meera is really so lovely, isn't she? I'm looking forward to seeing this show and being a member in this forum.😊

Hi Janki!

I have only watched part of it and this is the story I've seen so far:

Meera is born, she goes to a market with her family to choose a Gudda (doll but a boy doll) for her to get married to and she chooses a Krishna idol and everyone thinks it is another doll. On her marriage day the ordinary doll appears and she gets upset. Raidas (a rishi) comes to comfort her and shows her his Krishna idol. She likes it but can't have it. Lost in her thoughts about Krishna, she follows Raidas' camp/travellers even on the hot sand. People at he palace think she is missing and go to get her back home. Raidas tries to give Bhog and dresses his Krishna idol but Krishna doesn't let him. Meera doesn't eat until she, Lalita and Jaimal go to Raidas. She feeds and dresses Krishna and then goes back to the Palace when people attack Jaimal. When they reach the Palace, Jaimal's mum is furious and leaves Khudki, with Jaimal. In Merta (where Jaimal and his parent's live), Jaimal wants to go back and Meera wants Jaimal back. Raidas goes and gives his Krishna to Meera and Meera does pooja to Krishna. Water emerges from a well after 3 years of drought. They decide to hold a festival and havan for the arrival of water. Daimaa convinces Jaimal's mum, Shantidevi to go to the festival and they all go and surprise Meera. Meera's mum is getting ready and she faints. The doctor examines her and only tells Meera's dad and grandfather that she has 2 months to live. All the elders find out and are sad. The havan takes place and Meera also gives ahuti with her Krishna idol. After the havan, the Daimaa plans with Shantidevi for Meera's mum, Veerkunwari, to find out she is dying and she finds out.

Jaimal = Meera's cousin
Lalita = Meera's friend and dasi/servant

Here is like a family tree:

Rao Dooda had 2 sons: Ratan Singh (Meera's dad) and I can't remember the other son's name.

Ratan Singh married Veerkunwari, they had Meera.

The other son married Shantidevi and they had Jaimal.
