Is the Indian justice and court system so relaxed. Are the laws only made but shelved for commoners.

My reason for asking this that Inspector Verma testified to being an accomplice to DIGBJ's plan to kill Karan infact he was the one to do so knowing it was illegal and wrong. He also said he was a party to all the wrongdoings of DIGBJ but how come he is still outside. He should be behind bars. And then knowing that DIGBJ is going to kidnap Priya why was he quiet? Wasn't it his duty to inform the higher authorities? Why did he have to wait till Priya is kidnapped and being assaulted and he is questioned then he speaks. From his statement we can conclude that he knew of the kidnap plan beforehand as after testifying against BJ he did not meet him. That is why he knew exactly where Priya was taken. Then why did he not tell the court then?

Like in US Plea Deals, when an accomplice turns Approver (Witness for State) he's given certain pardons and a lighter sentence. In this case, the confession has been in a Family Court which has no Criminal Jurisdiction.

When a case filed against Brahma is brought to a Sessions Court (yes that is where the case is first tried in India) then if Verma still sticks to his confession, he may be tried or pardoned as the case may be.

As of now, till Priya goes to a Police Station and files an FIR against Brahma there is no case. No action can be taken against either Verma or Brahma.

The best they can do is:

1. Have a sitting Judge in High Court take "Suo Moto Cognizance" (acknowledge that an illegal act has taken place and court initiates action, without waiting for a Plaintiff) of Brahma's crimes and order the Police to take action against him.

2. Complain against Brahma in Central Administrative Tribunal (which is authorized to act against IAS, IPS, IFS officers etc.) and get them to take action.

In both the cases Roshni Devi would be vital assistance. However, these are actions in long term range. As of now immediately they cannot do anything legally.

They should however have taken a Police Officer with sufficient power to arrest Brahma on the spot in the act of crime, since they have knowledge of his whereabouts as well as his criminal intentions.

It wasnt planned before that brahma was guna kidnap priya he only decided to do that wen she challenged to drag him to court for sexual harrasement i think the night after roshni devis speech then so i think thats why verma didnt say in court
Also, if a accomplice becomes a witness and helps court then ur nt charged guilty i live in the UK and over here and if u become a court helper/approver u are punished less or nt punished at all

Thanx for the information. Here too in NZ and also in Fiji a laws are based on the British system but my point is that at least he should be taken into custody and used as a crown witness. If he is out BJ could harm him or he can change his confession putting RD in trouble. Saying he had been threatened by RD to confess against BJ. From today's episode we know BJ is behind bars but Verma has told him not to worry as he is going to see a way out for BJ. What did he mean? He is a snake in the grass.
