Star Plus' Maryada had been in news since the show was slated to go off air by end of this month. But according to the latest the news, the daily has got an extension of six months.
According to a reliable source, the channel had decided to pull the show off-air due to falling TRPs. But considering the fact, that the show has a unique storyline they decided to give it an extension. "The producers and the channel had a meeting in which the channel asked the show to be extended for another six months," said the source.
And the creative's of the show who were working towards the end of the show, will now have to rework on a new storyline. However, there may be a few changes. Tellychakkar.com had earlier reported that Ridhi Dogra and Raqesh Vashisth were to stay in the show, as it was about to go off air by this month-end, but now it is not known whether the lead couple played by Ridhi and Raqesh, will continue doing the show. "As of now Ridhi and Raqesh haven't got an opportunity to discuss these things with the producers but they will be soon discussing their stand after the extension," adds the source.
Tellychakkar.com got in touch with Ridhi who refused to comment on the same. However, Indrani Haldar, who plays Devyani, confirmed the extension as she also shared her joy: "I am happy that the show has got an extension. I would like to see it running for another year."
