Raqesh-Ridhi to quit Maryaada

Differences with the creative team have led the two actors to put in their papers.Neha Maheshwri reports...

After being part of Maryaada Lekin Kab Tak for over a year,lead couple,Ridhi Dogra and Raqesh Vashisht have now decided to quit the show over differences with the creative team.
A source from the production house says,The two arent happy with their track and the manner in which certain scenes are being shot.They tried to sort out the differences with the creative team,but that hasnt helped.Both Raqesh and Ridhi had heated arguments on two separate occasions with the team recently.They have finally decided to quit the show and have informed the production house a few days ago. It is on this show that these two met,fell in love and tied the knot.While Ridhi didnt revert to our text message,Raqesh said,No comments. It is also learned that the two plan to quit by Januaryend.

Too bad! With other articles saying the show is ending and now this, looks like the show might actually go off air now. For a show that broke barriers and stereotypes, it's sad to see it end so early. Some of the stories have not even had enough time to develop yet and they have to end it, I am not sure if we'll see such a show on TV again. We don't have that many courageous creative teams in Indian TV industry that would take a risk of making a similar show.

But, I really hope this show starts a trend or at least have encouraged other producers to think out of the box and not always try to cater to general entertainment (but apparently and unfortunately, TRPs drive the shows)

In a show with so many story lines, it's difficult to keep all the actors in limelight. Rakesh and Riddhi had their time to shine with their love story track (which wasn't too novel!) and Riddhi with her track with Brahma (which was something new). Now the story is focusing on Devyani and Gaurav, which I am guessing they are not happy about.

Disappointing!

I don't think it has anything to do with the storyline's focus not being on them. I think it might be that they don't like how their track is progressing.

If you want my honest opinion, I think Production Houses should tie actors to contracts, but I guess that only would happen if they had even an estimate of how long the show would go on. But it can't hurt if it's longer than the show's life.

At least in case of Riddhi's character Priya, there has not been any progress since Devyani found out about Brahma's rape attempt. Her track has been sidelined, which she may be complaining about.

I guess, Rakesh's character has been in focus as he's involved with Gaurav/Vidya/Karan's story, so he may just be unhappy with the current track, where his character has turned very weak.

What a news to wake up to on dull Saturday morning.
Now it will just be a race to the finishing line. I still hope the CVs do justice to the story and give it a proper ending. If its true and they are to quit at the end of January, then its not long to wrap it up.
