Fitness – "Fitness means an amalgamation of mind, body and soul. There has to be balance between all three aspects. Few years ago while shooting for the movie Rakhta Charitra I got burnt and had to undergo plastic surgery. Last year, while shooting for the movie No Problem I suffered a shoulder injury. As I have been doing action scenes for 20 years I have to be careful with my exercise regime. Right now I exercise under a sports medicine specialist. I do a lot of free hand exercises to strengthen body parts. I do limited exercise in the gym. Also, I practice yoga regularly as it helps the internal muscles, adds to the flexibility and helps relaxing the mind. I practice breathing techniques often during the day.
Diet – I have a healthy breakfast of eggs, fruits, cereals, milk and fresh juice. Once in awhile I do have parathas made in olive oil. I have dry fruits and fruits after two hours of my breakfast. Lunch is home cooked food that is rotis, dal, veggies and curd. In the evenings, I have sprouts or whole wheat biscuits with masala tea. Throughout the day I keep sipping green tea. At night I have soup, salad, veggies and rotis. Sometimes I so have ice-cream and dates.
Mind
Usually I have to travel for shoots at least for an hour and when I am in the car I listen to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi's music. It is relaxing. I practice deep slow breathing exercises often in the day, deep inhalation and exhalation simply de stresses, helps to relax and acts as a coolant to the system. It has a positive effect on the mind and body. One needs to calm down as enacting characters at times is intense. I enjoy reading stories to my kid's. I also like to take short breaks with my family and go out of Mumbai and unwind.
Spirit
Spirituality is connecting with ones own self. I believe in the supreme power. God is inside each one of us. I feel faith has immense power. There are religious places I like to visit as I feel at peace there. I talk directly to God like a friend. I love to read and have enjoyed reading What I talk about when I talk about running by Haruki Murakami, Deepak Chopra's Ageless Body Timeless Mind, Adventure Capitalist by Jim Rogers and the Autobiography of a Yogi by Pramahansa Yogananda.
My motto is, live in the moment, and don't dwell on the past or future. Often one is bogged down by everyday problems but one must always remember, the present is the most important time you have; don't waste it. Don't miss out on now because you are dwelling on what has gone by or what will happen in the future.
