so, there seems to be some type of layer to their in-law relationship as hinted in the show. whenever they bond, devyani gives them the "stank eye" or, just a funny look - perhaps a sign of insecurity or being aware of some sort of thing between them. in the promos advertising maryada as a new show, there is one when uttara is doing karva chauth, and ssp walks in. she's bubbly and happily says (not verbatim) "yo! sup jiju?" and he twists her hand, breaks her kangan in the process and says something (can't remember what).
