Since no one seemed to have done the detailed update, I will post it...not very detailed, but nevertheless something to read!
The episode starts with an emotional version of Jeeva Phera...one line went like,
Pancchi hai pinjare mein phase....kehte hain maryada use... (Beautiful symbolic lyric!)
...it basically showed a short recap of the lives of the central protogonists...Devyani's unhappy marriage, Uttara's abusive marriage, Vidya's lonely marriage and Priya's scarred past! (The editing done by the creatives is great...in just one montage, they showcased the entire one month's episode!)
Jhakar House
Preparation to leave for Ghaziabad is going on full front at Jhakar House...Devyani as usual is hurrying everyone up! Vidya and Gaurav have a cute scene between them where Gaurav teases Vidya, much to Devyani's happiness! But Gaurav makes some comment about a guy and suddenly the atmosphere tenses up between Devyani and him! Bade Bauji comes and asks Devyani about Aditya's love and she says that Priya is a very lovely, sweet girl and she never imagined that the girl they met in Mansa Devi would come as the daughter-in-law of the house. Devyani tells Bauji that the same girl would now be coming to their house bringing her dreams and hopes with her...Bauji teases her and says that is she afraid that the girl would get trapped in the web of this house, but then reassures Devyani by saying that as long as she is there, none of her daughter-in-law's could ever be in trouble.
Brahmanand comes and has a sort of silent conflict with Bauji, but Devyani intervenes and tells everyone that they are getting late for Ghaziabad. A critical mention in this scene...the SSP tells Devyani that he does not want to get late to meet Aditya, because if he does not make it on time, Aditya will break relations with him and that he can never bear! (The SSP dearly loves his younger son! Oh, boy! Is he in trouble or what!!!đ) I find it amazing that a man like the SSP who treats most of his family members like dead woods is so fond of his younger son and is deeply attached to him! What an irony await the man!!!
Pradhan Home
Meanwhile, Priya has started writing about her past in a letter addressed to Adtiya, after she remembers all her previous encounters with Aditya! (The girl has fallen in love with the bloke, no doubts about it!!!)
She writes to him that the girl he met in Mansa Devi, who was always bitter and irritated is not the Priya he knows...she was a cheerful, happy go lucky girl who was always laughing, but something changed her life forever!
Priya's Past
Flashback shows the night of the engagement, when both Priya and Amar had gone for a drive and have pulled the vehicle somewhere and talking, when a police van comes and hauls up Amar for public indecency. Priya follows him to the police station and begs the Inspector to leave her fiancee, but her pleas fall on deaf ears. Finally, the inspector sends her to a 'Bade Saab' who is travelling somewhere in a train and asks her to speak to him regarding Amar's release.
A desperate Priya who is afraid that the police will kill Amar in custody goes to the train where she meets with the Bade Saab, who is none other than Aditya's father. At first he calmly agrees to free Amar and order the Inspector on his phone to release him. Just as Priya thanks him and is about to leave, she accidentally falls on his lap and realizes what she has got trapped into!
The SSP makes it clear that he expects sexual favours from her in exchange for Amar's release and when Priya refuses to give in, he attemps to rape her! A gruelling scene follows where the SSP physically subjugates Priya and forces himslef upon her...but using her wit and presence of mind, Priya pulls the chain in the compartment and the train halts. Unable to do anything, the SSP watches Priya make a narrow escape to freedom!
Unable to digest the fact that she was subjugated to physical harassment at the hands of a senior police officer, Priya and her Father decide to file a case against the SSP and are shown to try and wage a war against him. But without his name or rank and against a corrupt department, they are unable to do anything!
Priya is completely shattered by what happened with her, but is still shown to go ahead with the marriage preparations! And on the eve of her wedding, when her Haldi ceremony is on, the police comes and arrests her on charges of prositution. The SSP calls up Mr. Pradhan and tells him that this is the price his daughter has to pay for not agreeing to sleep with him and for having the guts to actually go and file a complaint against what happened with her!
Somehow Priya is released from the prison, but as soon as she comes back home, she is surrounded by the barrage of reporters and journalists who slash her face across all the newspapers, making her a social pariah, without hearing her side of the story.
Priya, broken and helpless, is still hopeful that Amar, because of whom all this happened, will still come to marry her, is dressed in her bridal clothes and is waiting for him on the day that was supposed to be her wedding day. Only a letter comes from Amar stating that he is breaking all relations with her because she betrayed him! From that day onwards, Priya changed for ever!
Pradhan Home
Priya finishes writing the letter and looks lost in her thoughts. Chinu comes and reminds her to get ready and that they are getting late for the temple (Someone is desperate to have Aditya as a Jeejaji đ) Priya asks Chinu to do something for her.
Radha Krishna Temple, Ghaziabad
Meanwhile in the temple, our loverboy is absolutely on top of the world, waiting for Priya to come and excited at the prospect of his family meeting her, especially his Father Adi and Jaggi have a sweet conversation which conveys Aditya's maddening love for Priya and Jaggi's general amusement at Adi's love-struck situation.đ Adi looks very nice in a cyan blue kurta and jeans...đł (Who designs his clothes...they are so awesome!)
The Jhakar Family arrive finally and everyone is in a great mood! Vidya picks up Gaurav's cell phone, but the connection is cut short! Gaurav is upset with Vidya and tells her to never touch his phone again! Vidya only ends up looking confused at Gaurav's blow hot, blow cold attitude towards her!
Uttara also arrives, much to her and Devyani's awkwardness and tells her sister that when Adtiya called her, she could not help herself and she came after taking Rishabh's permission.
The SSP and Aditya have a cute bonding scene and he expresses a desire to see Aditya's girl more than anyone else (Wait and see, Sasurji...you are in for some trouble or what!!!)
Devyani teases Aditya (I wish she had mentioned that scene where Adi had pretended not to know Priya's nameđ) and tells him that she had no clue about what was happening between him and Priya at Mansa Devi! Aditya doesn't let her scold him too much and quickly kisses her, making Devyani smile fondly at him! (The guy is a born charmer...nothing can be done about that!đł )
The Pradhan's also arrive, sans Priya and everyone is introducted to one another formally! Mr. Pradhan and Chinu who have not seen the SSP or even heard his name before look visibly pleased on meeting with Aditya's family, even as Chinu tells Aditya that Priya is waiting for him behind the temple, as she wants to speak with him on something important.
Aditya rushes from there as usual and in the meanwhile picks up a garland from a priest who is taking it to the temple and before Priya can put in a word, puts the garland around her neck....đ˛ She looks on shocked as Aditya gives a totally adoring look back at her! The background to the whole scene was a song called, 'Kare Krishna raas Radha Ke Sang' where a couple of women are randomly dancing in front of the templeđ!
Comments
The whole garlanding scene was actually very romantic and somehow comical too...Aditya just goes and puts it around her neck....without saying anything....very typical of him! đ
Wonderful episode! Absolutely top of the line in terms of acting, direction, dialouges and chemistry between all the actors!!!âď¸âď¸âď¸
I could not understand the concept of the women dancing in front of the temple! It was so damn random and looked silly, compared to the intensity of the entire scenario!
The train scene and Priya's molestation was probably the best directed scene in Maryada's history till date! Riddhi totally nailed the scene with a spot on performance and so did Vishawajeet Pradhan! The terror and horror created in that one scene was done with a chilling realism and subtlty! Full marks to the creatives on this!
Since Aditya has sort of married Priya, I wonder what is going to happen on Monday?đ I have a feeling that the SSP will vanish before he comes face to face with Priya (call of duty or something) and the Jhakar Family will formalize Aditya and Priya's marriage and bring her back to their home!
Time for Fireworks then......
PS : Call me cheap or whatever....I want to see a scene between Aditya and Priya on their Suhaagraat.....đđđ Adi's hormones going all over the place and Priya pouring chilled water over his plans! đ
