wow.............just saw this thread and saw my dear friend Anu giving her analysis................so me will read n give mine...be abck after reading
EDIT:
ok so done reading.......
Anu, Fivr anf Poppy........some amazing analysis........
I am actually loving the show firstly ofcourse the chemo of Adi-priya that pulled me in😆😆........but m really liking the bold n sensitive issues they are portraying with respects to women in today's world living in a country like India where there are many laws to protect women's right in general (i think😕😆) n thus an attempt to show that women need to stand up for themselves......wat they believe in and not hold back on their self-respect, their self-esteem n dignity in the name of societal morals n bonds.
The character of Priya's dad has been shown in a rather conclusively different angle which comes out as strong n evident and m loving that very much as this wat many parents till date fail to do is to protect the integrity of their kids when in public.
Priya's past is rather very intruguing and impressively haunting coz its shedding light on very sensitive yet a very highly abused issue such as making woman look like a piece of dirt n filth only coz she was apparently seen with an unknown guy on the eve of her engagement?????
Aditya is heads over heels with Priya n combined with that is his tendency n internal satisfaction to help the needy to get justice is wat is making him instigate Priya to fight her battle but like u guys said........having lill knowledge about something is dangerous than having no knowledge hence this time his attempt will lend him into a deeper guilt n frustration but I think it will help him get closer to Priya's weakness and her horrific past as well.....
I enjoyed ur guys's take on Gaurav and if wat u guys say hin being a gay is true.....then it will be interesting to see this kinda bold subject given a good platform with some srs handling...
Oh and yes...........I really enjoyed that well scene yesterday.........it was giving a good template to the story n its characters.......

@Shilpaaaaaaaaaaaa :: 🤗🤗🤗🤗 Finally i see u here 🤗🤗.
Man this show is awesome right now. Iam in love with all the four women, Aditya and Mr Pradhan. All different kinds, all with different issues , yet seem so bold, with a fake smile on their faces. I am so looking forward to see how they take this story. I want to see Aditya a key player in all the four stories. It will be awesome to watch a guy instigating all the women to go face their issues boldly. Aditya seems such an awesome guy. I think he was bit at fault yesterday in keying Priya to fight Amar. No wonder he felt so sad today remembering that . He will learn from his this mistake how to better handle the situations. Its in a lesson for him and priya, not to jump on something without getting all the defences ready. It will end up in more humilation and nothing else.

@Anu, ditto for the women in the show! I normally hate the women characters in daily shows! But in Maryada, all the four women are so compelling...so strong and realistic!
Devyani is believable as the wife, mother, perfect homemaker, who wants to gloss over all the imperfections of her family...yet is sensitive, loving and immensely kind-hearted.
Uttara is such a paradox...beautiful and attractive, desperately seeking love in a doomed marriage...jealous of her sister's equanimity and maturity yet aware that Devyani's life is not as perfect as she makes out to be. (Devyani and Uttara's scene yesterday was done very well!)
Vidya...innocent and guileless...thinks that Gaurav's disinterest in her is due to something lacking in her...wants to do everything possible to be a good wife and daughter-in-law! Right now, there is not much to her character, but it has brilliant potential. A woman coming to terms with a husband who will respect her, care for her, possibly even be her best friend but never able to give her the rights of a wife.
Priya is by far the most interesting character! Mature beyond her years, broken-hearted and crushed in spirit...yet with enough spunk to fight back with Aditya and on some provocation, with her ex too. Her character is the most realistic for me...her dilemma of choosing to live a life of pain and torment vs her desire to end it all is done quite well by the creatives!
Not to say, all the actors are doing such a fantastic job! Its a great ensemble casting coup by the producers! More than some great acting chops, all of them look the part they are playing and that is very important for any serial to hold a viewer's long-term attention.
What I liked best about Aditya contemplating in silence was his desperation for Priya to accept his love and not at all bothering about what Amar or his wife accused her of and her inability to defend herself. He trusts her so immensely, that not for once does he even want to question her side of the story!
Adi's bond with his Father seems to be so nice...hope the creatives don't spoil it by showing the SSP's involvement in Priya's past! I also like the fact that Gaurav is shown closer to his Mother and wary of his Father...and Aditya is close to his Father and a bit hesitant in front of his Mother! Its very cute and natural!

Loved yesterday's episode ,and my favourite part was the conversation between Uttara-Devyani.Both of them are trapped in some way or other in empty marraiges ,Devyani deals with it by pretending that everything is perfect ,by not wanting to deal with the pain .So she just ignores the physical abuse her sister is going through ,emotionally blackmails her son into marraige thinking that it will solve everything. And uttara deals with it by making excuses for her husband and pretending to be full of life and finding joy in the way her nephew has fallen in love at first sight.
I hope the makers of this serial stick to the theme of this show and dont mess with the storyline for the sake of TRP's😵I have seen many shows being butchered this way.

Devyani is one of those turn-your-back-to-the-sun-and-pretend-it-doesn't-exist sorts? The ones who pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows? Because that's what's expected of her - being an SSP's wife, she's treated with great respect and privileged as we can see. She has servants and people at her beck 'n call 24/7. So she should be happy! Which is why even if she isn't, she's going to pretend that she is. That's what's expected and saying that she isn't happy is going to make her seem ungrateful. So she does the one thing she's been told she should do - she pretends to be happy.

And when Uttara (the one person who is desperately trying to seek out and get help) tries to tell her otherwise, Devyani shut down faster than the blink of an eye. She did NOT want to hear the bad because she wants to live in a "happy" world - because if she allows anyone else's problems to seep in her "happy" world, then her problems are going to glare back at her and there will be no escaping them. *sigh* Sometimes denial is the only way to survive..

Coming to Uttara, she so desperately wanted Devyani to accept the reality for once - because if she accepts the reality then at least Uttara would know that she isn't imagining her abuse. She is being beaten by her husband and the ONE person she tells this to, tells her that she's the one at fault because she's clumpsy! That this is all an accident that SHE inflicted on herself - clearing her husband entirely. *sigh* How does someone who's being abused live with the knowledge that NO one else believes her abuse is real - how do they ask for help then? That's why Uttara was so desperate - so much that eventually she was just trying to get Devyani to accept ANY truth about her life, not just the ones related to her abuse. "Are you still jealous of me?" she asks - indirectly trying to find out if Devyani really thinks that Uttara's life is all that "great".. And Devyani shut her down - "Don't act like kids - we're adults now.." i.e. learn to cover up the problem.. Now we don't have the priviledge of asking for help or expecting it.. *sigh* These are two very troubled women..

LMAO! I love how Aditya played his mom when she asked him to go invite the Pradhans with them too. He was all "mujhey nahi pata kya naam hai..", "Jaggi sey bol dain na please..". And then the minute the mom steps out he stuffs his feet into his sneakers and jogs off! 🤣 Hold your horses boy! Thora toh nonchalant dikho! 🤣

Pradhan wakes up and sees Priya missing and he instantly gets worried? There was not even a moment where he thought k bahir kaheen hogi, walk kar rahi hogi or something other variation of excuses. Instantly he knew it meant trouble..? Goes to show just how depressed and troubled Priya is - that her being MIA sounds instant alarm bells in the family..

Errr.. Aditya really needs to stop addressing Priya as his wife - he doesn't know if she will agree and the fact that he keeps doing it anyways is just so presumptuous of him! Jaise sari duniya inhi k intezar mey bethi hai, k ye kab ayen aur shadi ka irada karain! He can address her as the girl he loves all he wants - us k instant-love ko I can handle (he is so convinced that he fell in love instantly with her - without any reason - toh I will let it slide) but he needs to stop calling her his wife or telling his parents that she's their bahu. Us sey POOCH toh lo pehley!! 😳 I don't know.. Call me weird, but I'd prefer it if a man ASKED me whether I wanted to get married before he started introducing me as his wife-to-be. In fact when I hear Aditya tell his dad that he wouldn't just pick any girl as his bride - that usko aisey hi koi bhi larki nahi bhaa sakti - I am tempted to ask k what exactly did he see in Priya that made him fall for her? I mean, what really? Was it the way her arms flailed as she got pulled back from the train? Or the way she insulted him, asking him not to touch her and calling him insolent, in an adrenaline-fueled rush? 😕 They just jumped right into love.. It wasn't even at first sight, it was more like at first glance! Bass nazar parhi aur pyaar ho gaya - aur 5 minute baad "lugayi" bhi ban gayi.. *shakes head* Too fast, too baseless.. But I'll accept it - I'll accept his "love", as long as he waits for Priya's approval before telling everyone that she's his wife.. 😕😆

Hey guys...Fivr..wonderful analysis...👏

Anyway..here's my view on the show so far...

I think Devyani is one of those make-the-family-happy women whose life revolves around just being a family woman...if you get my point. Yes, somewhere deep inside she has a lot of problems-the fact that her husband never spends time with her-the fact that her sister is putting up an act of a happy married life-which finally fell through by the way, and the fact that her son is completely ignoring the girl she has chosen for him....she's just a normal mother, wife and sister. Her real problems will start only when she realises the true depth of the darkness in her picture perfect world...so for now..the track is not focusing on her much...

Uttara is a mixture of spunk and submission. Spunk because of the way she interacts with her nephews and neices..the way she accepted adi's love so quickly and even started cracking jokes and giving him advice about it..the way she so boldly lies and tells the truth also, the way she did yesterday. But she also has a little bit of submission..for she loves her husband, in a way it seems, and that is why she does not want to leave him..as the first few promos said..she just wants her husband's love..

Vidya is quite a chuppi rustam. 😆 Actually..she's just a normal girl who's got married..but still has a lot of unfulfilled desires within her..which Gaurav seems in no mood to accomodate..Gaurav is always awkard and troubled...and Vidya is too innocent to formulate theories on how Gaurav doesn't love her or has a secret past, but she is quite aware that her marriage is not that made-in-heaven types...

And finally Priya. She's so complex. She has been so traumatised..that she rarely smiles, laughs or is in a light mood. The contrast between this priya and the priya before her engagement broke is really shocking. At one time priya seems to have had as much spunk as uttara does..but now she has lost it all. I hope Aditya helps in restoring it...but i think aditya is not only the soulmate she needs..but he is also the pathway to coming face-to-face with her past again..it's too early on to comment on whether aditya's dad was responsible for her condition..but it looks like it.

And yes..it's a bit strange that Adi has started loving her just like that...but hey...we have never been able to figure out how dreams happen, whether the chicken came first or the egg, and the chemical nature of our cells...love is another thing altogether. 😆 😉

@Purple: I appreciate the fact that love is a complex emotion at best - there is no set "protocol" on how to fall in love or what to do when you're in love. It seems to be very whimsical at best - kab hota hai aur kis sey hota hai can never be predicted. But it can be anticipated - and that is my problem here. While we can't always tell WHO we will fall in love with, we can always "feel" it happening - as a process, gradual or otherwise. But yahan pe there was no process - there was no "transition". There were only two Adityas - Aditya before Priya (not in love) and Aditya after Priya (in love). Where is the Aditya that is "discovering" that he loves Priya and contemplating/questioning WHY he loves her? Where is his transition, his realization and his acceptance of love. Yahan toh chutki baji aur pyaar ho gaya..
That just throws me off. I don't need months of "transitions" like we see in most shows (maheeney ho gaye, the signs are staring back in their faces yet they refuse to accept that they love each other) - that's not what I want. Even two days of intrigue, contemplating, realization and transitioning would have been fine for me - it would have been fast but it would have been digestable.. THIS though just seems like Aditya had an epiphany or a mood swing. Abhi pyaar nahi hai! Abhi hai! Who is to say that if tomorrow he gets up, saves someone from in front of a rickshaw and gets told off by her, that he won't fall in love with her too? That's what I can't digest at all - his intrigue I can understand, his attachment to Priya and his sense of responsibility for her (since he's been a part of her suicide attempts twice and that is an intense experience to share) I can understand. His sudden love for her though, leaves me stumped. 😕

Haye ram! Itna lamba cauda comment episode update waale thread pe de diya! ab copy karke yahan post karna padega! Damn... kitna kaam karna padta hai!!!
But before that!
Fivr: Errr.. @ Fivr: i really agree with you on this... do teen bar theek hai... i mean fine, in the train he said it cause he was furious. To Uttara he might have said it in fun!!! But what the heck man! yeh to dhindora peet ta phir raha hai... bawla kaheen ka! (I mean bawla rohtak ka! 😆) He should atleast wait for Priya to acknowledge his love!

Loved the episode as usual... DJ's have roped in some great dialogue writers man!
I cracked up bad on Jaggi's dialogue about Adi... 😆 Since mom doesn't know i watch it online just after the original epi, when i was watching it with her in the afternoon, i ended up blurting to shut up and listen to Jaggi's dialogue it's mast and she was looking at me as if i've lost it! 🤣 (Well she's correct in some way! I actually have lost it over this show!!! 😛)
And the scene where Gaurav was sleeping near Vidya... i wonder if that was so that his mother doesn't know where he slept last night! But i guess he doesn't know that he might end up giving wrong notions to Vidya.
She's so innocent! When she overhears Imli and Jaggi, it seemed as if she's longing for the same love in her life. And i had thought... maybe Devyani choose such a naive village girl for Gaurav cause she might not be aware about gays... and won't end up thinking that about him! 🤔 😕
The part when Devyani shouts at Jaggi and Imli and tells them she'll come and slap them if they don't go to sleep... man... even Devyani's so hilarious at times. And the part when she's waking up Uttara... i act like that every morning!! 😆
The convo between Uttara and Devyani... i was so furious at Devyani... man!!! How can she ignore everything so much! As if she thinks if she closes her eyes to reality it won't happen! How can she act so ignorant!!! 😕 😡
And when Adi tells Devyani that he doesn't know Priya's name! Man... that sly devil... that sly sexy devil! 😍
His convo with SSP... when he says that the car's official and his dad says... pyaar bhi to official hai!! Jai ho Priya ke to be sasur ki!!!
Can't wait to know if Priy'a actually on her suicide mode... again! Or it's the way Fivr and Poppy have prophecized! 🤣
Luv,
Pree!
