The real strength of P L 's " V & V" is that the reader becomes narrator.
That is , all the sketches are in first person narration & when you read them you are actually telling the story to yourself .( just like Wodehouse " Bertie Wooster " stories )
To convert them in dramatic form is a big challange. It will need the writer whose style is somewhat similar to P L . Frankly , Marathi TV world ( & even the drama world ) does not allow such writers to come up . Whoever are available ,are trained to write what is needed for current shows on TV .

About the current biopic - Although PL lived a very complete life with his interests in Drama , Cinema ,music & writing ( & his interest in people .Apart from "v&V " there is " Gan Got " & other personal sketches )There is nothing really dramatic in PL 's life , which can made into a movie .
A documantory would be far more effective . We will have to wait to see !

Goofycat, I cannot agree more with you on Namune!!!! I am so happy that I am able to express my disappointment on forum here.

I watched "To" just to see how they were adapting it for this era and for hindi audience. I felt like I watched a different story. Only 5% of "to".

And Narayan, I couldn't digest the beginning so skipped altogether.

The family backdrop they used was really unnecessary. Rather they could have shown direct stories, and not that idiotic family setting eating up screen time and space.

Huge disappointment if there was one.

Phew.

+1 on the family backdrop!
It was totally unnecessary, their interference in the original narrations was too much to take.
I am glad someone else also felt the same 😆

Why i love Hari Tatya
They say life imitates art.
Here a part of my life felt like art.

The Hari Tatya of my life was my Kaka ajoba, my grandfather's younger brother.

I spent a good ten years in his company as a kid.

My cake wale ajoba, my cricket loving ajoba, my friendly ajoba.

When I heard Hari Tatya for the first time, I was 16. As the narration continued I started going back to the 90s and his face came infront of me.

His games with the kdis from the chawl, his interactions with purushottam, his little tiffs with PuLa's father, the meals at home - it all happened in our home!
My Kaka ajoba loved my friends like they were his own grandkids! He danced with us the way Hari Tatya did too!

Also, he was the first person I saw smoking.

My kaka ajoba was a bachelor all his life, an atheist and sort of a cynic now that I look back at the memories.

The man lived a full life. He had us, his friends and his colleagues who were real close to him .

I also remember the day he died. I was playing at home and there was a phone call which my aaji answered.

I think it was cardiac arrest.

I was too young to feel that kind of pain and everyone around me shielded us kids.

We have a photo of him in the house because he was closest to us despite having other brothers.

We rarely talk about him but whenever we do, it is alwaysm fond memories!
I think he'd have been so pleased to see us children doing well if he were today!

My kaka ajoba - my Hari Tatya

What are they going to show about Pula's life 😛. I mean his life was not very controversial or happening 😉 . They should do a biopic on Atre . What llfe he lived 😈 , I am reading Karheche Pani 😎. But then do the Marathi film makers have the guts to portray skirmish between Balasaheb thakre and Acharya Atre 🤢😆😆 ?
I think they might show the real people PuLa was inspired from, for the characters he wrote 😛. In that case I am waiting to see who plays Sakharam Gatne ⭐️. He is one of my favourite characters 👍🏼.
Ani jarka Mahesh Manjrekar direct karat astil tar adchanach ahe 🤢. Karanki gelya kahi varshanpasun tyani direct kelele chitrapat sapshel apatle ahet .
