So many posts on the current relationship status of Risha-Li. I have a different take on these relationships in the TV serial world...I see a pattern here.
When Honar Sun was at the peak, Shashank-Tejashri was a most sought after couple amongst Marathi daily soap viewers. Channel promoted them so much as a real life couple. Ultimately they got married and divorced within a year, coinciding with the serial's plot. So there are still some rumors about their marriage if it was staged to create some excitement and masala amongst the fans and promote the dwindling serial. As the serial ended, eventually the couple divorced and went their own ways in real life. I am thinking their marriage was a publicity stunt and part of the PR effort ( PR effort not by channel but it could be their own decision to promote their serial and careers).
When JYRG was at it's peak, all the promotional interviews, programs projected LP and PM as a loving couple, which generated so much curiosity amongst the fans. Their amazing on screen chemistry fueled the speculations even more. As show was coming to an end, we all heard about the stories that LP and PM are not on talking terms or they are not friends anymore etc. After the show ended, they both went their own ways while fans were shattered about their so called break up. Now with the Humpi promotions, it seems that LP and PM are actually still very good friends and have stayed in touch (as much as they can, given to their busy careers and LP not being very active on social media) and very comfortable in each other's company and ready to work with each other in any project.
When KDP was at it's peak, all Rishi-Sayali interviews, videos fueled the speculations about them being a real life couple. As serial ended and Rishi Sayali attended the Zee awards (where she is wearing that pretty pink dress), Rishi was heard complaining about fans not recognizing him as Rishi and would like to be recognized that way. He was clearly distancing himself from Shiv. They stopped interacting with each other on social media. (Rishi still likes Sayali's random pics or fan club pics but I look at it as a kind gesture for all the help she provided him for explaining or teaching Marathi language or culture). They may be very well in touch and be friends offline.
So my point is, that it is all PR efforts from the channel to create some curiosity amongst the fans by showcasing these leads as real life couples when their respective serials at peak. As the serial starts coming to an end, PR starts planting some stories of discord or a rift between the couple. That creates the curiosity amongst the fans but that also gives some space for the actors to decouple from public image and start living their own life. I even think that these actors are briefed about the PR plan that when they will start promoting them as a romantically involved couple and when they will start undoing that at about the end of the serial. Actors must be aware of this plan.
Off course there are many reel life couples who have ended up marrying in real life but that's their own choice/decision and not the screen image which has compelled them to marry each other in the real life. So after decoupling these actors at the end of the serial, if any of them still would like to continue as a couple then it's their personal decision and it is not on the channel or makers.
Bollywood also promotes their movies by publishing articles on alleged affairs between hero-heroine. PR keeps bringing new ideas by sometimes planting stories about their fights, egos etc. However they don't need decoupling of the leads, because being in relationships is not tabooed in Bollywood but Marathi TV industry is not that bold yet.
P.S I am not going to write about Isha as she is not an onscreen partner with Rishi. Them being a couple could be genuine or some publicity stunt.. which we will never know.
