"Welcome, everyone, to The Kapil Sharma Show! It is a special day today as we celebrate 1000 episodes of the comedy show and of course of our jokes and your laughter! I would like to thank all my viewers as this would not have been possible without you all! To make the day more special we have a co-host today and some surprise guests! So with a round of applause welcome our co-host and my dost for today, Vidya!"
And with that entered Vidya confidently all the while butterflies in her stomach and her heart jumping with joy.
"Thank you Vidya for coming on the show. She is one of the lucky guests who won the special contest and here she is, aren't you feeling happy for being here to celebrate the 1000 episodes celebration?"
"Well, I am more than happy. First of all I'm on my favourite show and that too on my birthday!"
Hearing that Sidhu ji said,"Happy birthday Vidya. Aren't we the lucky ones today that we have the birthday girl among ourselves. How about wishing her?"
The audience started clapping their hands and singing the birthday song. Vidya blushed in embarrassment and joy but someone didn't like the way things were going. Kapil fumed as the audience wished Vidya. The spotlight fell on Vidya and she suddenly became the centre of attention, leaving Kapil sulking. It was her birthday, so what? It was still his show's celebration.
"Okay okay enough. We are happy for you Vidya but let's move on to important things such as our show's celebration."
"Yeah sure," Vidya shrugged.
"So as I was saying, we have some special guest here today. Can we have a big round of applause for the two dashing men, on whom girls swoon over and whose personalities are admirable, Rudra and Zaroon!"
Vidya blinked twice before letting Kapil's words sink in. What?! She was on her favourite show, that too on her birthday and now the two men, for whom her heart literally thudded against her chest, were joining her. The day couldn't get any better.
Little did she know, her dream meeting with two of her favourite stars wouldn't be as great as she had imagined.
The room lit up as Zaroon and Rudra entered it. Rudra walked confidently, maintaining a straight face, ignoring all the girls who were shouting his name whereas Zaroon walked in a cool manner, smiling all the time and occasionally waving at the ones shouting his name.
Both sat down and opposite to them on one end sat Vidya and Kapil to the other end. Vidya wanted to jump in excitement but somehow controlled it.
"Omg! I can't believe it's you two. I think I am dreaming," The audience broke into laughter at Vidya's response and even Rudra gave in a small smile while Zaroon chuckled and pinched her slightly assuring her it wasn't a dream.
"Zaroon pinched me! I think I won't wash myself for days," Vidya whispered to herself forgetting that she had a microphone attached. Again the crowd laughed and this time Rudra chuckled too. Vidya buried her face in her hands. Why did she embarrass herself in front of the entire country and the two men who ruled her heart.
Someone besides Vidya was disappointed too. It was the host himself who frowned looking at how the girl was getting all the attention. First from the crowd and now from the guests.
Kapil cleared his throat and started talking with Zaroon and Rudra asking them questions while he completely ignored Vidya. Vidya felt something was up but didn't give it much thought. Her brain was rather occupied in trying to keep up with the pace of Rudra and Zaroon's arguments. Every sentence said by the one led to a scornful question by the other. This kept going on and eventually the conversation started to heat up.
"So Rudra, what do you think about life?" Kapil asked pressing his lips into a thin smile, unsure of what was coming up next.
"I think life is all about doing your duties and fulfilling your responsibilities towards your family and your country. Unfortunately, people are too self-centred nowadays to think about their loved ones let alone care for the country" The crowd awwed at his answer whereas someone wasn't that pleased with it.
"I actually object to your view. I know we should do our duties and keep our loved ones happy too, but self happiness and content is equally important. You can never make someone happy if you aren't happy yourself so sometimes you need to be a little selfish and think about yourself. Life is short, you should enjoy and be happy while making others happy too. Don't just burden yourself with duties. Life will become colourless. Zindagi Gulzar Hai. Jee lo jitna chaho!" Everyone agreed to Zaroon's words but Rudra's expression clearly stated something else.
"Well it's the person's choice. Good that you enjoy your life but you see, all of us don't share the same opinion. Besides, I don't think I asked for your advice."
"I was just trying to help 'cause you clearly need it."
"What are you trying to say?"
And so the argument began to intensify and the crowd began to panic. Even Kapil couldn't figure a way out. Amidst this argument, someone was getting really annoyed.
"Stop it! Just stop it, will you both?" Vidya snapped. Rudra and Zaroon muttered under their breaths and looked away. "Now both of you, why are you acting like little children? Look at the poor man who is regretting his decision of inviting you both on his show, for his special day. And look at poor me who thought today would be the best birthday ever. But you both had to ruin it through your idiotic fight. Why don't you just agree to disagree?"
"I'm sorry. Happy birthday," they grudgingly chorused, shooting accusatory glares at each other.
"So if everything is sorted out then let's cut the cake! We have two. One for Vidya's birthday and one for our show." Kapil said smiling. He finally appreciated Vidya's presence, for she was the one which put a stop to the fight.
"Wait, you have a cake for me?"
"Of course we do. Now let's bring it in!" Kapil ordered and two cakes were brought.
Kapil and Vidya cut the cake while Zaroon and Rudra kept glaring at each other and arguing over petty things like who would stand next to Vidya.
Vidya shook her head at the two but smiled.She couldn't ask for more, sure it would have been great if they would just get along but then again, what's life without a little spice? The show ended with a group selfie and as expected Zaroon and Rudra were pushing one another to get into the frame.
