Just saw the "clash" of shiv and baba..looks.like.it was shot in bits and pieces with loud.background music
But the poorly.exeucuted scene.feels ok because.of.rishi's brilliant performance.
.if gauri.cant make her.father.see.reason.how can she win over amma.??
Rishi shines in all the scenes

Is job the reason for.swabhiman of a woman? If caught between a.decision of continuance of job and a.well.settled marriage.. what would women chose in real life??
Anyone would like to comment

Vanni, Shiv ke jaan ki jaan abhi bhi Baba me ataki hai... yehi CVs ka dikhana kuch hazam nahin ho raha hai ga...

A 24-25 year old- matured, well educated, career oriented, married and so called 'Mumbai chi Mulagi' being unable to take a firm stand for such a long time is beyond understanding.

Baki Shiv babu ke to kya kehene!! Superb dialogues... As correctly mentioned by Lfizgd and mrege... fantastic acting by Rishi!!! A talented actor taking shape. AM dada must be proud of him nahi ka...

Mrege, It's the circumstance that would drive a lady's decision. If it is forced on her without any strong reasoning, then she will make an issue of it. If a job signifies independence as it is in Gauri's case where that is the only vehicle for her to be able to go out of the house then most certainly she will stress on working. On the other hand if she is well provided for, has a friends circle of her own, can move around at her free will or if her young children need her, then she might opt to stay at home. Usually no person in the world works as a hobby or to pass time. Everyone does it for their family. Mortgage payments, kids dance, swim classes, vacations, good clothing and accessories none of these are cheap. Everything needs money. Love doesn't buy any of it.
An employed person(gender does not matter) is an asset to the family unit. Needless to say I have worked all my life, and would be immensely disappointed if my daughters' choose spouses who make them pick one over the other!

Alpha20 I am going to repeat my response to one of your earlier post "Wah Wah Alpha20 Kya kahi!!!"

Mrege I am going to give a long winded answer to your loaded question- please bear with me.
I am a visual thinker so when I read your question these images flashed in front of me:
1. There was an old Doordarshan public service ad about the girl child. A toddler girl is on a mattress, blindfolded and hands tied. She is struggling to move but can't. Then a person comes and one by one removes all the bonds. The little girl gets up and starts taking little steps, then runs and laughs, chases a butterfly in an open field.
2. Another old DD serial called "Thoda sa Aasmaan". It was a series about three women who are trying to carve a place for themselves in this world. It had Deepti Naval and Nadia as two if the women (I forget who the third was). The last scene of the last episode was the three of them climbing a hill and walking into the sunset, laughing and free of any worries.
3. A very domestic scene at my in-laws. My MIL and FIL both in the kitchen. MIL rolling chappatis and my FIL cooking them. All the time they are discussing all matters- current events, family issues, everything under the sun. They are completely oblivious to what's going around them. I ask my husband kay re he?? He says Aga Aai Babanche routine aahe doghe pan jobs karayche theva pasun. They are a team.

It's all about personal choice. I love my work - yes I definitely do it for the money but it's also to explore myself in a career of my choice. Yeah sometimes I feel immense guilt when I have to juggle my responsibilities at home and work but it all changed one day. My three year old child said "I am ready". I asked her ready for what? She picked up her toy laptop and said for work mommy. I want to work, go to a meeting and be awesome like you.

Men are never asked to make such a choice or answer the question you raised. It should be completely left to each individual (irrespective of their gender) to pursue their calling in life. Husband and wife should be partners and figure out what works for them and not rely on family or society pressures. It's about doing something that gives you satisfaction- being a homemaker or a CEO or both.

In our society are women truly given a choice??? I don't think so. They have to almost "settle" for whatever someone else decides for them.
Like the current political war cry for women I would rather support and raise a daughter who follows "She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted"

Class acting by Rishi no doubt but the last part of yesterday's episode looked disconnected to me ...and if you see the Zee app precap its totally different from the actual one...they are caught under a saree or something and they are extremely close ...like about to kiss and Shiv jokes about Gauriji Amma ke saamne aapki bolti band ho jati hai !
Amma n Ram coming could be dream mayb ! Lets see

We will have to wait and see how Shiv takes up Gauri's side when he and Amma clash. If he continues to be docile with Amma and does tttaaatttaaa pppaaapppaaa with her then it will be a mirror image of how Gauri behaves with Baba. Do they want to show that Shauri are confident only when handling their in-laws and not when handling their own parents?

Not likely as yesterday's epi had Phupha instigating Amma to catch Shiv redhanded. Most likely Amma will land up in Mumbai.
I think that it is a good idea that the showdown between Shauri and Amma occurs in Mumbai itself. I am hopeful that something dramatic will happen which will change both Baba and Amma's views forever. That will start the process of story moving into all the points that @PS listed.

Hi.friends.. i am sorry if you.felt my question was loaded. Even though kdp is just a.show. i felt the issues raised are.socially relevant
What would women.do in real life in have to chose between the two.
Rightly said.women dont have a choice .they.follow what is thrust on them.in most cases
Remember dialogue in english vinglish.

If a man cooks it is a hobby and women cooking is duty
I liked the example of husband wife working as a team.
