I guess "seasons" theme is not for Marathi telly world...

Though DDD2 came us as season 2, it was totally different serial only actors were retained.

this was a false impression channel gave to viewers. I suppose in serial world, season means the core characters and core theme remains unchanged. Only story progresses. some new characters get added as part of progressed story line.

Most poular 'FRIENDS' had several seasons with same charcaters with their relationship progressing

Same was the case with Big bang theory, Castle, Mentalist and several other serials.

for DDD2, IMO, viewers felt 'cheated' and new story-characters proved to be a big let down 😡

No , it depends upon the development of story & characters. In "Abhalmaya" they tried by jumping the time, it barely worked.
For DDD2 , my guess is that the channel could not come to agreeable terms with original team so they hired a new one but due copyright or so they could not use the original names.
However , if they had taken the "spirit: of DDD1 & infused it in new characters it would have worked.
But they probably rushed into DDD2 without proper homework & any coherent plot.
The serial could still work if someone would spend some time & efforts to plan a proper storyline for next 100 episodes & bring some humour & romance into it.

The three actors who have left may return for few episodes if Channel asks them but that is not going to save the serial
