My guess for the new ticker: Everyone will like the Maharashtrian saris brought for Gauri by Shiv and maybe the "dokyavar padar" may go????

Suruchi, thanks for sharing the FB link!! The two are so simple ppl...love them!! N it's true... Nowadays... Actors ko acting ke alaava bahut kuch karna padata hai!! Suruchi, Shiv ko chedne ke liye Gauri se permission jaroori samajhte hai...such is the magic of this lovely pair!!

The new ticker is interesting!! How the change is brought about will be best seen!! IMO, Shiv will now start questioning the logic of putting all sorts of bandhan on women only... under the garb of riti-rivaj, khandaan ki izzat!! N maybe Gauri will reiterate the questions in her sweet inimitable style... To put Dadi in thinking mode!! Gauri in gol saree without dokyavar padar...n smiling her cute smile...will b good!! Let's see KDP!!

I slightly disagree.

I think its early to comment that the serial has become typical and stereotype. Shiv and Gauri are supposed to change the riti-riwaj without hurting elders, which will be dealt with now [as the new ticker suggests].

For this Gauri and we, viewers should be aware of the existing riwaj [current track]. Then, slowly slowly Shauri will find their middle way for every riwaj - including Gauri working while handling household responsibilities [future track].

This theme itself is not typical and stereotype. Negativity doesn't last for long unlike typical serials.

What my understanding abt a typical serial is - strong villains in form of MIL and SIL, very down to earth and highly tolerant DIL [who never wins over villains].

That's my POV.

KDP don't have strong villains. Amma / Sarla have their own reasons for bitter attitude. They are quite manageable. Now Gauri will win their hearts.

Other serials have over smart villains [ Nandini in PAM, Lalita in NSB, Monica in KKK, baccha and Gary in MNB, Rani in 100 days, even vahini in TJR].

KDP is certainly a different serial and it still continues to be different. It is very realistic. It teaches us to value the family and relations. Look at MNB / KKK, where characters don't understand what is family and how to value the loved ones.

I think the person who wrote this article is making the same mistake that an IF member SVM**** or someone made earlier on this forum. They are passing judgement on the serial when only half the serial is complete.
The tag line of this serial is A Maharashtrian girl goes and changes the world. Then logically how could this serial end after the occasion of marriage?
Secondly, how can they show changes if they don't show the initial conditions which prevail (these conditions do prevail in large number of cities which are not urbanized)?
Thirdly, the serial has already started to show dramatic changes in the traditional Shukl family to more modern views. The new ticker is another indication that further major changes are expected. At the end of the serial we have high expectations that all such obscurantist views will be dumped and a healthy, progressive and balanced amalgamation of both cultures will be accepted (remember, Dadi had herself proposed a remarriage in Maharashtrian style?, Hasn't the restriction on Gauri entering the kitchen been so quickly withdrawn with minimum fuss?). But for that we will have to watch the complete serial, shouldn't we?
If someone wants to rant against a serial they are welcome but it should be something rational and not irrational and not based on half baked views.

In KDP, the Shukl family is shown to be very typical ... but lets give some time to Shauri to convert them. And as the ticker suggests - they will start that soon.
