Non-musical factors viz looks, 'attitude', type of song, being from Kolhapur etc matter more to AG than mundane things like sur. You shouldn't be surprised 😉
Agree with both of you. I am kinda done with this season of SRGMP in the 1st two weeks 😔 Did not expect TQ also to be a seasoned judge. That Rasika Ganu better be give -ve marks for her over stylizing. Seems SWs prediction of the winner is going to come true. I would not be surprised to see RG in the top 5
Today's Pralhad Jadhav's 'Tum hi ho' totally lacked the huskiness of the original song by Arijit Singh. As a gazal singer, the urdu pronounciation of 'kh' in 'khuda', 'z' in 'zindagi' should have come bang on like the writing style with nukhta. Totally missing, but still he got 'dha'. That was surprising from AG, who is do fond of bringing that huskiness in all his songs.
Mrunmayee Phatak was a total flopp. Do they direct them to dance also? I mean even though her husband was there amongst the spectators, there was no need of enticing him in a competition risking the song. As such if that was not her genre she should have been extra cautious. She just blew it off.
Reshma Kulkarni's 'Majhiya Priyala' was quite ok. Was it worth a 'Nee'? Her voice was broad / husky like Shobha Gurtu, but the pitch for 'avaru manala kaise, mala te jamena' is so high in the original song - I felt she totally missed on that. But overall it had that 'kasak / dard' feeling in it. And Avdhoot was full on with his 'panchat' jokes as expected after a lavani.
Juilee Joglekar's 'Ye mera dil' could have been more sensuous. The orchestra for this song was simply awesome👍🏼👏. I think her adakari was more impressive 😉. But I would say a nee quite justified as an overall effect. Arthaat as always AG' praise on such songs are overhyped.
Whatever!
