Reportedly, the production team of Mamta is keen to drop Narayani from the show. The producers have had enough of her tantrums. Narayani replaced Neha Mehta in the show. Expectations skyrocketed when Narayani, a big TV star, took over. However, in due course of time, it became clear that not only did TRPs not improve, but the production house had to put up with her unnecessary demands. The show airs in the 7 p.m. slot and is considered a low-budget serial. Narayani's exorbitant fee of Rs 35,000 approximately per day would be justified if her presence had done wonders to the TRPs. Instead, the show's popularity has declined considerably, and the production house really has no money to spare. A source from the production house says, "Narayani charges a bomb and gives very little time to the show. Moreover, she throws a lot of tantrums on the sets. As she is the lead, she has to be in most of the frames. When the show needs her for eight hours per day, she turns up late and remains there for only a couple of hours. Imagine, we have to use body doubles." The production house is poised to deal with Narayani's absence from the show. "If a big show like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi can do away with Tulsi (Smriti Irani), we can do it too. However, we will slowly scrap her character. That's the reason we are introducing two new characters in the show. Both characters will be strong and it will give the required twists to the show," the source adds. "Narayani has several issues. A few days back, she refused to mouth lines which had mythological touches to it. She thought it was not as per her character. Basically, we've had enough," another source says. Neeraj Sachdeva, supervising producer of the show says, "We are planning to introduce two new characters. I would not like to comment further." When quizzed about the problems he said, "Yes, there are definitely some punctuality issues. But, I won't be able to divulge more details." Narayani is presently in the US. "I don't know if what you're saying is true. I can't believe this. I have to check with the production house, and then only I will be able to speak on the issue," she says

hmm how stupid.. if the trp is low it means the story line is bullshit.. there is no story in the show right now..

no offence.. but tis all like stupid acting.. of this krishna.. and akhsay is just stadnign there .,. hearign his stupid sons words.. i men when does that haopen.. if it was me who said so.. my father woudl have slapoped me very 1st time

and what's worse.. we just had our new banner for barely a week & now we hear news that narayani is sacked? tsk.. what is the mamta dev team going to do now? another banner contest?? haila.. such a big headache!😭😭😭

yeah we knew it all the while..i mean it was getting obvi..!!! i jsut hope after she leaves they atleast have enough money to kind off buy new clothes or atleast take different ones on rental!😆😉

The show is called Mamta, can they go on without a Mamta. i think they should just end the show.

they cann't run the show without Mamta so better to end this show

why should the serial end if the lead leaves? there is still so many loose ends to be tied up. i'd rather they tie up all the loose ends & end the show meaningfully than cutting it short cos the female lead is sacked.😕

how can they just end the serial because narayani is being unprofessional? it's true that she never gave her 100% for the show. she always looked like she'd rather be somewhere else. the dedication i saw in her in 'piya ka ghar' is not even half here in 'mamta'.

i'm not impressed with the script nor narayani & it seems like the rest of the audience feel the same too. it's true that we can't blame the whole matter of low TRP's on narayani but her lack of dedication & acting skills might be one of the reasons too.

if narayani is no longer on the show... i hope neha mehtaa comes bak... dat would be sooooo good if she does.....

so the actress shows a bit of tantrum...don't they all do this when they get big?

and why would they be taking out the leading lady when the name of the show is "MAMTA"
replacing her would make more sense to me at this point...

just as Neha was replaced.
can't they get Neha to re-sign on the project!!?
