We all know that Lakshmi will end up accepting her feelings for the real Arjun. After all, that is inevitable :) But the main obstacle (other than Arjun's mean father, of course) will be Purva. She is always discouraging Arjun, whenever it comes to discussing Lakshmi. Now, while it is obvious why she does that, it also goes to show that she is not worthy of Arjun's love and does not deserve him.
It's funny how Purva keeps banging on about Lakshmi being selfish and only loving Arjun for his wealth. Perhaps she is in need of a reality check. She is far from selfless herself and always manages to overlook Arjun's love, as well as the pain he is feeling right now. She cannot comment on Lakshmi whe her own love is selfish. If Purva truly loved Arjun, she would have let him go completely, rather than try to brainwash him at the first available opportunity.
Initially Purva was willing to back off. But Lakshmi's fixation with the name Arjun Agnihotri has given Purva a chance to meddle in Arjun's business. I really like how Dadi has handled Purva whenever she has given lectures on why Lakshmi doesn't deserve Arjun. But there might come a time when Dadi will have to be firm with Purva. She will not let this love story progress without some deliberate interference
