Malayalam industry was script bound and had delivered lot of beautiful movies not only in thriller genre, but also in comedy, family everything till mid nineties. After that the momentum was lost and it is only handful of movies that comes once in a while. Malayalam movies used to rule the roost in National Awards, but alas not now 😭

But even now I was just watching the remake of DABH in Malayalam. While DABH Hindi is khichdi post IPS, Malayalam version has really become inspirational with the realistic sketch of the IPS officer Deepthi.

yes there are many thrillers - Yavanika was special because the story overshadowed all else and there was no "superstar" distraction - it is memorable after all these years...

i read your PM. Thanks, Sruthi...it is one of the best things I have read on IF. 🤗 Especially about the motif of unquestioning trust. Very insightful.👏

Suggest you write a post on the whole pattern. I felt it came across perfectly in your PM, sometimes the message can get lost in too many words (imho) but this message is definitely worth sharing with a wider audience.

@happy I will write a long winding post. Let the show close. Because then people will be able to relate better, why of many things.

Good point you have observed...the similarity in Saras-Rudra-Karna. All three characters are devoid of mother's love and all three worship and respect their foster mothers.
But I want Gautam in more contemporary role or maybe anchoring a show rather than accepting a mythological character.
