Why u think upandavas were not draupadi's kids ?
See I don't believe karn at all , he can say anything to insult draupadi.
If someone had said that then I would have thought
Initially drishtdumya took upandavas to panchal , when they shifted to dwarka is not known. When Pandavas were leaving 4 exile. Why will drishtdumya take upandavas to panchal if they were not his sister kids.
Not because of Karna's speeches. Those are completely irrelevant to understand. The reasons are different. And yes the reasons are not conclusive they are just inferred you could have different opinions
1) The birth of kids are not mentioned excluding a passing a reference. While the birth of Abhimanyu is given so much importance. At least the birth of Prativindhya should have been celebrated afterall he was the son of a king
2) The son of Abhimanyu is considered the only living heir
3) Yudhishtir didn't stake Prativindhya in the game and said he isn't left with anything and no one objects. Couldn't have happened unless either Prativindhya didn't exist or was given to someone and hence Yudi didn't have rights on him anymore
4) They don't do much in the war. The best performance of theirs was defeating some lower Kauravas, Karna's son apparently defeated all five of them in a one to five combat, that's so unlikely for Pandavas sons. Aside mostly they attacked in unison. Why would they do so? That's how characters act in stories not how soldiers fight in war.
5) Why would Ashwathama kill them? He wasn't confused as we have checked. He knew that it were Uppandavas that he was killing. No reason to do so, he had issues with Dhristhdhyum why would he hold against children of Pandavas (even they didn't do anything to Ashwathama)
The entire track, everything which is mentioned about them seems an added plot. So I think they weren't real or they were simply kids of lower wives who didn't do much but were there in the war and got killed ordinarily
If they weren't real the Dhristhdhyum taking them is also an interpolation
If they were real n kids of lower wives, maybe they were close to Draupadi, Dhristhdhyum took them for the same reason why later Dwarika had them, because their maternal homes weren't rich enough to give them royal upbringing or training
