But what was d reason of unity b/w kauravs , what was d reason binding them together?

Actually unlike Pandavas, Kauravas weren't described well. We know only 3 Kauravas : Duryodhan, Dusshashan and Vikarn. Vikarn was not so fond of his brother's ideology but he didn't leave him because of the love/respect for his brother and Dusshashan loved his brother very much. May be Shakuni made them well trained to listen to their eldest brother in all circumstances. And Duryodhan actually loved all of his brothers, friends and family.

Bheem and Arjun didn't need any external binding material for their bond, they loved and trusted each other unconditionally, although not very openly disclosed but probably same was for the twins. Bheem loved his brothers way too much and would go to any extent for them.

It was only Yudi who was being carried on by his Anujs

But yes for others Draupadi did serve as the binding material

Now coming to Kauravas, it was pure love. Duryodhan might have been an antagonist for the external world but for his brothers, he was their protector their friend their guide. In fact the way Dusshashan interacts with Duryodhan, it seems that Dury was more of a father figure to his younger siblings than Dhritrashtra. Most of the times Duryodhan fought the Pandavas for his brothers not for himself.

In fact after being humiliated by Gandharvas+Arjun Bheem at Gowsha Yatra, he decides to commit suicide. He then nominates Dusshashan as the next king, although he could have nominated Lakshman, who wasn't definitely a kid then.

You know what, I often think that had Bheem n Duryodhan not been in opposite sides n enemies they would have been best friends. Both are so similar, Both loved their brothers to the core, both were very brutal to their enemies, both had utmost love for their wives (I am considering folklores here for Duryodhan's love for Bhanumati)

Both were possessive for their loved ones n were ready to accept the opposition of the world for each other.

If u remember chiilii once shared that vedvyas deliberately brought polyandry marriage coz he knew Yudi can't survive without his brothers.

I m just giving example not comparing anyone ram , lakshman, bharat , shatrugan were brothers , 3 younger brothers definitely loved ram a lot coz he earned it but still 3 brother went out of Ayodhya 2 set their own kingdom , shatrugan was king of mathura , lakshman was given d place known lakhanpuri now known as lucknow, bharat ka I don't know. Ram was himself an undefeated warrior & capable king

None of Pandavas ever became independent as they were bound 2 live in indraprastha as they all were married to draupadi. I don't think BANS loved yudi immensely nor did Yudi himself . As Yudi himself told what he think about his brothers in swargarohan part.

Infact ANS loved bheem unconditionally 4 sure coz he showered them unconditional love. Bheem was very protective about his brothers , an Ideal brother .

Sometimes I think if draupadi was only married to Yudi & other pandavas become independent king then indraprastha would never had been this prosperous coz arjun bheem was d reason indraprastha prosperity .

Arjun & bheem individual kingdom would has been more prosperous than indraprastha.

Regarding kauravs maybe u r right but as Andy said we don't know much about them .
