I have a doubt on this coz I don't think Pandavas had some children from dasis ( I can be wrong also )
See at a certain age everyone need a companion , it's like a natural need .
Thou draupadi was wife of 5 but she can't be available for everyone at same time
Draupadi Sahara one serial
Draupadi explained this thing in a nice way , she said I m giving permission to my husbands to marry again as I can not be available for everyone at a same time , this arrangement can also eliminate illegal relationships with daasis which Kunti 2 agree. It's better I gave u right to marry again rather creating illegal relationships behind my back .
First and foremost, relationship was Dasi wasn't illegal or illegitimate, that's the exact reason why Dasis were kept, for menial jobs they had Sevikas.
Only the owner had the right to have relations with the Dasi (or anyone he permitted. But if the person excluding the master impregnated her, there could be punishments unless she admits to have the wishes of a kid) They couldn't marry or have a family otherwise.
In fact Sabha Parva clearly states that after enjoying their dinner the Pandavas had a musical night post which they went to relax in their cabins with most beautiful maidens (this is the night before the dice game)
The TV shows have holier than thou Pandavas so they decide to not do what was the norm during those days
Coming to not having kids by Dasis, people avoided having kids by Dasis, they maintained their timings such that the Dasi isn't impregnated during relation. Because Manusmriti is very clear that if a Dasi is impregnated by her master, she is immidiately freed from Dasatva. However she always remained a responsibility of the ex master. This means you have provide for her, but can't ask any favour from her.
The kids were also born free but the master had to openly accept them as their own child and give the same rights as other children excluding the inheritance right.
Having a kid by Dasi was a loss loss situation for the master
