But actors down south don't compare whose bigger, Rana and Prabhas worked together and direction by Rajamauli was grand too, the war scenes were amazing, I didn't like Padmavat war scene one bit and you see how Khilji got more prominent rolw than Shahid's character, Bollywood is always partial, they will make one character the hero, Mahabharata has many heroes

This was also around the time steel started being made, but I think it first started around Turkey, not India as we know it. Hittite empire was going on in Anatolia/Turkey at the time. The 2 most important deities of the Hittites were Sun Goddess and Sun God.

My best guess would be the solar dynasty of Anga had connections with the Hittites and provided steel.

Imagine the diff it would make. Lightweight armor, giving Karna maneuvering ability and near complete protection from the iron arrows.

Armour was definitely worn by all the important soldiers, even after parting with his divine Kawatch kundal, Karna had adorned an external armour. That's why I said his armour was superior to others

If Drupad's arrows pierced through Karna's armour then that's an indication that this armour was no way divine or final, it was subjected to wear and tear too. It simply means that whoever his biological father was (I feel someone from the solar dynasty) had an access to superior quality iron and had the capability to prepare better and customized armours or else Karna himself had some access to those who could built that, else what HearMeRoar said about Steel could be another option.

It needed to be pretty customized to be a complete body fit. Epic says it changed size with Karna. It would have been a proper body fit. I think one needed to give measures for such customized armours (like you give to Tailors) and would have taken time, when Sun God came he definitely didn't have the actual measurement so couldn't get.

He might have brought a few but they wouldn't have been as customised as the original one which was prepared by measurements, because Karna does adorn external armours after his real ones are taken away

Mahabharata is an epic where even the antagonists are as powerful as the protagonists. No one is a hero or a villain but all are the soul of the epic
