CHAPTER: EIGHT

WHO IS HE?

P.S: Thoughts in Italic.

Arjun got cautious seeing the shadow. He silently took his bow and searched for the owner of the shadow. "Where did that go? Was it an illusion?" On the other side, Madhav thought, " The whole world is illusion, Parth. And the main purpose of life is to get rid of this illusion. You will get rid of this illusion, Parth. And only for it you will be known as Narottam. I will be always on your side to help you fulfilling this purpose, Parth. I will help you. Always."

Kunti opened her eyes to see her sons. Many years passed, but she never got rid of her habit of becoming overprotective for her sons and always worrying about their future. She sighed in relief seeing her sons are fine and are in deep slumber. " But where is parth!!" Her heart started to beat faster in tension of not seeing her son. She viewed the whole place in hope that Phalgun might be colse enough for her vision. And not seeing him nearby, she was about to call Bheem. And then a sound came from nearby bush. Sounds of leaves. " Who is there now! They might be some robbers!! Maybe Phalgun got in some trouble!!! Hey Ram!! Keep my son safe!!! I... I must call Bheem now!"

" Bhee..." " Shshhh, Mata! It's me! Phalgun!" Kunti sighed in relief seeing her son safe and sound.

"Uff, you had taken away my life some some moments, Phalgun! Can't you go informing or taking any of your brother in company! Where did you go?"
" Nowhere, Mata. Just was roaming around." Kunti quietly observed her son narrowing her eyes.

" Phalgun, are you lying to me?" she asked her son with her eyebrows.

" N...N...No, Mata! Can I lie to you?" Arjun pouted.

" Tell me correctly, what happened?" Kunti ordered her son in stern voice.

" We..ll, I saw a shadow." and closed his eyes assuming that his mother will surely yell now. And he was right.

" What? A shadow? Is someone here? Maybe some robbers! Then we should leave immediately! Yudhis..."

" No! No, Mata! First listen to me naa! That was only some animal!"

" Animal! Then it may be dangerous! We should lea..."

" Uffo, Mata! It's not harmful! First you sit properly. Why are you panicked! There is no danger. There is still much time to go!"

" Why don't you listen to and tell me anything properly, Parth? Why are you so stubborn?"

" I told you everything, naa! Now I promise. From onwards, I will listen to your every word, Mata. And whenever I wil have any problem, I will com to you first. Is that okay?"

" Yes, okay now." Kunti was always worried for this wanderer son. Even she can't tame her. " Maybe i should start searching for a beautiful maiden who can tame my Parth and complete my family!" and blushed thinking to be a mother-in-law. And then the playfulness of Parth began. He lied down on her mother's lap and started playing with edge of her saree. She slapped on his hand and said smiling,"What is this, Phalgun! You are not a child anymore!

" You always say that a child is always a child to his parents. Then why are you telling me that I am not a child?" he said with a tingle of naughtiness.

" Dusht! When did you learnt to debate with Mata? Haan?" she said pinching his ear.

" Ouch, Mata! It hurts! Now forget it. After many days of grandeur, we are again in mother nature's lap. Let's enjoy it!"

" Sure, Putr."

" Mata, see the vast sky! Isn't it looking like the abode of the Blue Lord?"

" Yes, son. It's divine. said Kunti caressing his hair. She always loved her son's curious nature and the zeal to know.

" And mother, see that morpankh! Isn't it too beautiful!"

" Morpankh!" said Kunti thinking something.

" What are you thinking, Mata?"
" Nothing, son. Just thinking about my brother, Vasudev, and his son."

" Son! How much old he is, Mother?"

" Maybe a couple of months older than you, Putr." said kunti in an absent mind.

" Wow, that means, he is of my age!" he became excited hearing that he has some cousin close to his age. Otherwise all Kauravs used to treat them as outsiders.

"Yes"

" Then why don't we go and meet them?"

" You know the reason, Parth. We can't go there now."

" Yes." he said in a disappointed tone. " But what's his name?"
" His name is krishna, Putr.

" Krishna! Why I am feeling that i know this name before!" Kunti saw her son in deep thought.

" What happened, Putr?"

" Nothing, Mata. I want to know about krishna.

nice chapter! i'm really liking the way that you are giving scenes which will justify arjuna's silence during the division and vastraharan!! uff his silence 😭
you know whenever i hear that song main hu hero tera every lyrics of the song "aankhon ke panon pe maine likha that sau dafa lafzo main jo ISHQ tha hua na HOTTO SE BAYA,khudse NARAZ hu kyun BEAWAAZ HU?" i feel like arjuna is talking to draupadi. i think the song is only made for them 😳 ❤️

Hi Aanvi! Now, that I am back on the forum, I had thought that I'll check my PMs and read all the Fan-fictions, and now that I opened this, I couldn't stop myself from reading further. This is such a lovely piece, so pure and the innocence of the characters. A few scenes have been so beautifully thought out and the interactions between the families are just so sweet, they really make the readers hooked to it. I am liking the fact that you are concentrating on their lives before marriage also, with a little but if your own, somewhat modern writing and perspective.

And I smiled throughout, whenever Draupadi and Krishna's interactions came in.

And I did read that you were confused about Shikhandini. Please do not hesitate to PM me or ask for any help regarding that. Although I don't know a lot but I have done my share of little reading.😊

Sooo true!!! now i am loving the the lyrics!!!!😳 And his silence!! Don't talk abt it!!! I will try hard not keep him silent!!! but at certain points!!!! Nothing can make up them!!!😭
